I was reliably informed by my dad that Chief Nosiru Atunwon lawujo eke started playing Apala even before the emergence of Alhaji Haruna Ishola, though Haruna Ishola was older than Atunwon in age. I have shared this clip on my facebook profile and most admits they have never heard this very one before, especially the mouth organ, Nosiru was renowned for his guitar and Apala drum. EgbaAlake it would not be wrong to call you Mr music encyclopaedia. Thank you again.

Chief Atuwon is a Master of many Musical Instruments. HE should be studied in Musical departments in Colleges. RIP Atuwon

Thanks for the presentation of NOSIRU OMO ATUWON LAWUJO EKE, (ni ibi nwon ndana iro) music. It really brings back the memory of his contributions to the Nigeria musical exponents. May his soul rest in peace. We cannot forget him.

As a little boy in the early 70's,Sallah starts and end with Omo Atuwon as he played in Ikorodu moving from one street to another. We will move from his house by Alhaji Wahab Balogun's house in the heart of the town immediately after id prayer.A multi-instrumentalist,Nosiru played the guitar, gangan,,akoba mouth organ, keyboard to mention but a few. What more,I got thrilled watching him as he simultaneously led the group vocally and playing any instrument he so decided at the same time.I cannot pick which of his album I love the most;they are all my favourite and is not possible for me to listen to him and keep my dancing shoes!

Thank-you for sharing this very rare album of Nosiru Atunwon. I never knew he used mouth organ during his earliest recordings. Quite nostalgic.

Egba Alake, I have heard Nosiru sing some of these songs live at Imota in the 50's. I feel like I am seeing the band life as I listen to this posting. I have witnessed him using the mouth organ during that time. In fact the mouth organ was a part of his repertoire at that time. This is very nostalgic and very memorable. It is quite reminiscent. Thank you immensely.
