We must’ve been a different Santorini…the one we went to was overrun, dirty, smelly, chaotic and a real let down. Too many people, too much litter, too much traffic, too much noise, too dirty and too may plastic bottles!

Oia has some of the best sunsets but i like getting up early to watch the sun rise while sipping on a Frappe at Meteor cafe.
Excellent video, just love Santorini when it's quiet first thing in the morning, we were there in July too only problem was there were three large cruise ships in, queues at over two and a half hours to get down to the dock then another two hours to get on a tender back to the ship, something must be done to control the numbers.

I visited Santorini 13 years ago, I don't remember seeing so many busy and crowded streets full of commercial stores. I'm wondering, are they existed back then or built up in recent years? It seemed to have overpowered the natural beauties in that area.
crowded and unsafe. donkey shitting all over the place when walking up to the town. its so dangerous when they push donkey down the hill. line for cable cars is about 1-2 hrs wait. bad place to visit.

At 1:07:03 If ever you are hungry in Thira, I highly recommend the gyros from this place. I'm going back to Santorini this September, staying in Perissa, which doesn't have lots of pretty white buildings clinging to a cliff. It also doesn't have cruise ships disgorging masses of passengers.

Yes its fantastic, but get your timing wrong with excessive Cruise ships docking and unloading hoards of people and you'll wish you'd never have bothered .
