Little correction, you CAN play perfect dark on the switch if you download the mature n64 app in the switch store (must have expansion pass), but let’s be real it’s nothing compared to the Xbox remaster as you said. The rare replay version of perfect dark is just the Xbox live arcade version from the 360 so if you bought that years ago you can use it without rare replay. Fantastic game. Great video btw.
@ yep has shadow man, and turok 1 and 2 on there also….but playing the remasters of the turok games is WAY better then these versions. Honestly I never use that app because of that.
Awesome video mort. Side note they make a mod kit for your old n64 controller to make it wireless and the switch recognizes it like Nintendo switch version. And works pretty awesome. And I also love save stats and I don’t care what people say as a mechanic on call all the time I love picking up where I left off.
Great video, I can listen to you talk about the N64 all day as The 64 is one of my favorite systems. Indiana Jones is great, I played Body harvest a lot back in the day such a creepy game, star fox 64 is still my favorite star fox game & Goldeneye will always be one of my favorite N64 games.
You've become the best retro gaming content creator in the game right now. I watch them all buddy and I'm not just trying to be nice. Your last run of videos have been superb.
This is an outstanding video Mort. Offering reasonably priced ways into N64 without asking people new to the console to break the bank is brilliant. Well done!
Don't forget, Goldeneye 007 CAN be played with a control style similar to call of duty, in which you use the original controller or nintendo's switch n64 controller, and use your hands with a different placement. Using your left hand on the D-pad for moving and strafing as well as your left index finger for the L button for cross hair aiming, and using your right hand in the middle of the controller to aim with the stick and shoot with Z. It works like a charm for anyone who is used to modern FPS games such as call of duty. Choose the control style "1.2 solitaire" in the menu.
MVG made a video about the limitations of n64 emulation recently. And I think thats why the MiSTER FPGA (or taki udon mister pi) is the best way to play it on a modern TV (or a CRT) these days. (~$200 with a controller and accessories) plus you're getting a setup that can play almost every other retro system and lots of arcade games released before the N64.

The day I picked up snowboard kids at the swapmeet for $30... the first thought that came to mind was Mort would be happy i snagged this game at such a great price
I remember the N64 for its early games. Being an importer from Japan in 1996 I had SM64, Pilotwings and then Waverace before the USA launch came about. And it was those 3 games which I spent most time on. Pilotwings and Waverace to me played perfectly at the time but if Nintendo just brushed them up but kept the controls and music exactly as is, that would be perfect for me.
This is going to be really creepy, but I'll share anyways. I've been sick - the other night I had a fever dream, that you had a 70s style CRT that I REALLY wanted, and you let me borrow it. I don't remember any other details but that has still stuck with me. The brain is CRAZY BRO! I'm 40 years old and live in the midwest. We've never met. Fever dreams and OTC pills. Additionally, I enjoy this departure in content style and would watch things even further astray from the normal stuff. Have a great week dude.
