Totally agree, Mazzy. All my friends from the 60’s and 70’s I used to listen/discuss music with no longer care about old/new tunes. Your chats are like visiting a friend to chat about what we still enjoy.

Hi Mazzy. I really understand what you mean by being preoccupied with the musical univers. I am 68 years old and have to old friends whom I have shared musical experiences with for 50 years. Hi Mazzy, please keep doing what you do and making all these videos. I love them. It is so refreshing to drag my mind onto music for 20 minutes every few days in the midst of a busy life. Thank you and greetings from London.
Nothing better than going to the record store! I think back many years ago when I spent so many hours in A&B Sound in Vancouver. Time seems to stop when your flipping through all the albums. Love your channel! Thank you for all of your hard work!
Thanks for backstory Mazz. I’ll admit, as someone mid-career with a family I’ve often wondered how so many TH-camrs had so much time to review so much music so it was nice to hear your take. Your love of music absolutely comes through in your vids and have inspired me to check out a bunch of bands I might not have otherwise. Keep’’em coming and stay healthy!

The first part of the question was and still is asked to me quite often. It sounds funny to me as it feels so natural to switch on music as soon as I get up and shut it down before I go to bed. During my professional life I was on the road a lot. I had a 10-CD changer in my car and a filled spare magazine in the glove compartment. So I listened to all of my CDs from top left to bottom right of my CD shelves. Many friends couldn't imagine it. They were alway busy one way or another. And there were the kids. Our friends kept theirs away from the HiFi. Our two sons grew up with music playing around them. My elder son even learned walking holding on the LP shelves. All in all it cost me one broken record (Folk Songs Of Old England Vol. 2 by Maddy Prior and Tim Hart). Today our sons are both active musicians, one is a great sound engineer. In other words I am completely with you.
Thank-you for your kind mention, and respectful words, re; the untimely passing of Steve Albini - really decent of you, Mazzy... So very sad to hear the terrible news. Taken from us way too young... Warmest & most heartfelt condolences to his wife & family. Met him a couple of times thru' my own work in the independent music label side of the music industry and he was a very nice guy - also saw him perform in all the bands he played in since the late 80's onwards. Such a fine musician, and latterly, producer, too. (I'm in my 60's now). R.I.P., Steve, and thank-you for all the special music & live shows I was fortunate to have seen you perform in over the decades.
Thanks. Love your SF trips and reminisce. I lived there fifteen yrs in the Haight. Hung out at murios and North beach. Lost all my vinyls 3 different sets. Then bought CDs. Now back into the vinyls obsevily. Photography as major hobby. Wife was a good stylist in Puerto Rico for 35 years. She watches food on utube and I watch record reviews

Appreciate your passion and your video's Mazzy. For about 6-8 months now, I have stayed away from most of the live streams because of work and tired of the drama, but I do enjoy watching your video's, they're usually fun and very informative, I especially loved watching your Austin video's. As an art director for my own creative design group, I totally agree how things have changed, everyone thinks they're a designer or photographer, especially with all the canned crap you can download. You nailed it. Hate to sound like the old man, but those team creations for design, packaging & advertising, could be so cool and fun. Even as more of a facilitator and negotiator, I loved being a part of it all. It was a great ride 😎

Schoolkids working in offices :-) Here in the UK we used to have what was called ‘Work Experience’ where 15 and 16 year old boys and girls were offered 2 weeks working alongside people in various occupations….shops, offices, factories etc. I worked in the Civil Service in an office in Peterborough in Cambridgeshire and we’d have maybe half a dozen of these youngsters every year. They’d join us as shy little ones, completely over awed by the strangeness of it all. Within days they’d relax and start enjoying themselves and by the time their period of being with us ended we’d get sobs and tears that they had to go back to school! They absolutely loved it…and truth be told, we loved having them with us. I am certain that it was one of the best thought out programmes ever devised to give youngsters a glimpse into the adult world of work. Such a shame that it was abandoned.
It hasn't been abandoned. My teenage children are doing work experience in a few weeks time. In England, that is. In fact, children get to do one stint during their GCSEs and another during their A levels. So it's better than it used to be!
That’s really good to hear: I think maybe it’s been cut in some areas because of budgeting problems. But fantastic yours still have the chance to partake in it!
Ppl asked me the same thing about books - - a Q that comes from an age that doesn't read more than texts. Nowadays, string more than 3 sentences together & yr a novelist. When folks ask you: how do you have the time to listen to So Much Music... the question does not remember a time when music was in the air everywhere every day all the time, imprinted on our daily life all our lives. Culture isn't focused anymore, it's scattershot & besieged by media.
er mazzy they said about our generation not working, lets not blame young people for the mess those politicians have created over the years, you do a great show showcasing great and interesting music, always enjoy your video,s,peace and very best wishes.....................jpj
I like these videos where you (and others like you) go beyond "this album is my favourite. It's great", and instead talk about the 'why'. Why take the time, why listen to so much music, why share thoughts, critiques, and experiences, why connect with others who share similar interests, and why take the camera on the road? To me, all this stuff brings colour, personality, interest, and fun to video making and viewing. Altogether richer.
i'm younger than albini but gasped at the headline of his passing. i only know scout niblet through you. if you, your friend and albini believe or believed in her, i'll have to play a whole record...having one of your hats decorated with aka demolished by prosciutto only proves the lengths you're willing to go to for art! enjoy being productive.
*People (strangers) ask you what you do with your time and your passion?! Wow. Are these the same people who get mad because you ask for free records?! Wow. Very kooky.*

Just keep doing it!
Your hat is the same as the ranger from the Adventure People Wilderness Patrol set.
Enjoyed the ramble Mazzy! I am always learning about music I don’t know from you, so do keep going. Ps a bit of ‘framing’ goes a long way!!
Noted!🤠
AND Steve Albini produced Rid of Me ! To me it was even better than In Utero which I LOVE
Schoolkids working in offices :-)
Here in the UK we used to have what was called ‘Work Experience’ where 15 and 16 year old boys and girls were offered 2 weeks working alongside people in various occupations….shops, offices, factories etc.
Mini Albini, nice. Scout used to live several blocks from me, but has moved out - not sure if she's still in Portland.
WOW Scout Niblett , thanks Mazzy. She is great.
Thanks Mazzy!!
Mazzy, being a Seattle guy, have you listened to Subpop band The Walkabouts. The 92/93 New West Motel freakin awesome thanks
Thanks Mazzy
I own a lot of music as well... I just do it one tape / one CD at a time... And it's almost a rediscovery...
Steve produced one of my favorite albums of all time.... Songs: Ohia's Magnolia Electric Co.
That is so good ✌🏼
Ppl asked me the same thing about books - - a Q that comes from an age that doesn't read more than texts.
Mazzy,
Your are the best!
Mr. Pete------->
aging hippie
Thank you 🤠
You’re the real deal 😁
er mazzy they said about our generation not working, lets not blame young people for the mess those politicians have created over the years, you do a great show showcasing great and interesting music, always enjoy your video,s,peace and very best wishes.....................jpj
Yet we all vote 🤷🏻♂️
I like these videos where you (and others like you) go beyond "this album is my favourite. It's great", and instead talk about the 'why'. Why take the time, why listen to so much music, why share thoughts, critiques, and experiences, why connect with others who share similar interests, and why take the camera on the road? To me, all this stuff brings colour, personality, interest, and fun to video making and viewing. Altogether richer.
Thank you Sir 🤠
I have a life and actually do many things. When asked the same, most questioners do very little. Be active versus a sloth.
Lovely video Mazzy but now I’m curious. What was the Black Sabbath album?
Their second 😎
mazzy, little off topic, where do you get your shelving? looks way better than my target cubies....
These are IKEA Bonde. There were unfortunately discontinued around 25 years ago.
@@mazzysmusic ahh bummer! Thk you for responding.
@@timarnett7813 when I moved here I found one on Craigslist to add to my set.
Mazzy, IMHO, you're famous. 😊
🤠😵💫😎
i'm younger than albini but gasped at the headline of his passing. i only know scout niblet through you. if you, your friend and albini believe or believed in her, i'll have to play a whole record...having one of your hats decorated with aka demolished by prosciutto only proves the lengths you're willing to go to for art! enjoy being productive.
Yeah. I didn’t know there’s her idea w my hat 🤠
@@mazzysmusic i wish i could pull off wearing a hat. i'd wear one like john phillips did in the summertime at monterey!
❤
Who’s going to get all those vinyl albums ounce he’s gone? I think it’s a question worth asking and knowing?
There is a plan. I have a son and a friend who will help
*People (strangers) ask you what you do with your time and your passion?! Wow. Are these the same people who get mad because you ask for free records?! Wow. Very kooky.*
Well, I occasional respond to viewers in this way. And yes this is based on a question that keeps coming up.
My partner is so bored of me talking about music. She needs a break, so I comment here when her eyes gloss over.
You nailed it. No one I know in my personal life cares about this.
@@vinylrichie007 😂 people still say “records? Like from the 70s?”
@@MonieMuse … I still call them that too! LoL
@@MonieMuse They are records.
What Black Sabbath album? Ozzy, Dio, Martin era?
Their second one 😎
@@mazzysmusic 😎
Love this - but basically - you are retired and your kids are grown - so you have the time! One day.....my dream will come! I just dont actually WANT my kids to grow up - it goes too fast!
Mazzy isn’t doing the RIP video because I beat him to it.
Exactly 😆
I see a contest brewing. 😅 Maybe I should prepare some obituaries in advance and get then up here even faster. 😇
@@davidatkinson-Music-and-More Mazzy has done this but in all fairness Steve Albini is not in his wheelhouse.
@vinylrichie007 I get the impression you lean more into what Albini produced than Mazzy. Your tribute was great.
Steve did Awesome Work on The "V" is for Vagina Album.
*OMG!!!* Mazzy... You listened to X *and* Black Sabbath today...??! Are you okay? 😲
Massive X fan. Saw them so many time during their first years. Saw Black Sabbath too. But I was going for the middle band, Yes in 1972
@@mazzysmusic Wow... Aren't you full of...
... surprises... 😁
Why does anyone really care how you manage to make time to do what you love. It is very weird to me.
Well, they’ve been asking 🤷🏻♂️
Rich old boomer is how.
The boomer part is correct
So you have time to do these videos, b/c you are a professional TH-camr. Just like the Instagram models have time to take glamour shots of themselves all day. Got it.
If that what you think 🙄
He has the time because he is retired
Because he’s been cloned.
That’s a possibility 😎
Zzzzzzzzzzz
Sleep well my child 😴
