  • In this video, I teach how to saddle a horse English Style! I walk you step by step through the process and cover some common mistakes. This is designed for beginners who want to learn how to saddle a horse in English style as well as seasoned riders getting back into riding.
    Saddling a horse English Style involves three steps: Putting the saddle pad on, then the saddle, and finally the girth. I walk you through these while sharing tips I learned through the years of saddling many different horses.
    Hope this helps you avoid common mistakes and furthers you on your path to having a wonderful relationship with your horse! :)

      I would recommend asking your trainer specific questions. Most of the time tacking up is usually covered immediately. If your needs aren't being met it's not selfish to find a trainer who will show you what you need to learn.

    I was involved in a mountain bike race which resulted in an accident in May 2018, I suffered severe brain trauma. Fortunately I have recovered really well and we have moved on to acreage enabling me to at long last get my own horse. I have a great husband who has had a round yard put in which has all the correct foundations with the correct products making it look really professional! I am truly spoilt. Having brain trauma for me has meant I have memory loss in some areas. Your video has been a great help . It's not that I was saddening my girl up incorrectly , but your video showed me I was doing it correctly. Thanks:) Your teaching along with other brilliant trainers are a huge help for me.

    Thank you! How do you know if you sinched it up too tight for the horse? Are there tips or signs?

    • @JSHorsemanship
      @JSHorsemanship  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Some horse will react to the girth being too tight while others will not. It all depends on the horse. I like to check my girth at my horse’s sternum and make sure I can fit 2 to 3 fingers under it.
