Just for the record, I’m Christian, Baptist specifically, and I find this song fine. It’s not actually saying she’s in love with THE Judas, it’s just using the story of Judas as a comparison/reference when talking bout an Ex she had that she loved but he betrayed her. Granted I don’t think this song is writing that well and specifically the end part is weird and when I first listened to this song I did think she was saying she loved Judas for betraying Jesus, which if that was the case then yeah I would’ve hated this song, but after reading the comments and listening to it again, it’s most likely about her Ex. As someone who is gay, this song has a particular meaning to me. It symbolizes me as someone who used to try to resist my attractions to girls (the figure of Judas is a metaphor for that).

Just for the record, I’m Christian, Baptist specifically, and I find this song fine. It’s not actually saying she’s in love with THE Judas, it’s just using the story of Judas as a comparison/reference when talking bout an Ex she had that she loved but he betrayed her. Granted I don’t think this song is writing that well and specifically the end part is weird and when I first listened to this song I did think she was saying she loved Judas for betraying Jesus, which if that was the case then yeah I would’ve hated this song, but after reading the comments and listening to it again, it’s most likely about her Ex. Personally I don’t think it’s wrong to use bible stories as comparisons or analogies, it gets more people interested in the Bible or least the stories of the Bible, but maybe I’m wrong and to each their own. At best, Lady Gaga exploited a wonderfully rich, underappreciated aspect in the Judeo-Christian cannon. This interpretation that Gaga gives EMPOWERS Mary Magdalene's femininity, her dichotomy, and the overall salvation of the character.
At worst, Lady Gaga's interpretation leaves her throat exposed to wolves in sheep's clothing, such as yourselves. For your lack of insight, faith and willingness to be easily lead, you should be ashamed.
