Such an amazing video. The editing and the way you talk about books is very comforting, but fun at the same time. Instantly subscribed and so excited to see more videos🫶🏼

With Elif Batuman, did you end up reading Either, Or? I ended up enjoying that one more than The Idiot.

Pure Colour has a great cover. I wish I liked the novel more, but I am interested in Heti's Alphabetical Diaries.
Your Yiyun Li recommendation reminded me to put back Wednesday's Child on my list.
Otherwise I have The Secret History on my floor now to read at some point in the next year or so.

loved this! since we both LOVE the secret history then you should 1000% try Kafka on the shore by Muarakami, it's one of my favourite books :)

In my opinion Klara and the Sun is one of the most overhyped books ever. I feel like ppl are just praising it so much, because it’s written by Ishiguro. Even read so many of the reviews just to see what’s so great about it. But I still don’t think it was very well executed and also was just boring. Liked his other books better. I’m going to read it again in a few years and see if my opinion changes. Love secret history, the bell jar, normal people & the idiot though! And Intermezzo was amazing I found! Very moving.

people just have different opinions, there is no hidden agenda to it. it's a great book to most people and you're allowed to disagree 😊

You need to understand the concept of personal preference. Any books could be considered overhyped if they got super popular among humungous groups of people. Nothing will amass to 100% agreement for everyone as people experience things differently. For instance, Sally Rooney isn't necessarily my favorite kind of author but i'm sure her writing definitely has a lot of effect on people that resonate with it. I throughoutly enjoyed Intermezzo too but i find her other books to be lacking something. However, it doesn't mean it is the same case with the other readers. It's all a matter of perspective & unique reading experience.

@ that’s why I begin my comment with “in my opinion”. I was just sharing my thoughts. I’m interested in why others find it such an amazing book. That’s why I read the raving reviews. But it still didn’t elevate the book for me. I am not saying no one can find it a amazing book. I’ve just read sci fi books that tackle the same idea and do it better.
