I remember when I sat next to you on the plane a while back. We ended up chatting about skincare and I helped you out with Theo for a bit as well. You were so kind and thank you for passing me all those travel sized skincare for me to keep. It meant a lot!
Packing a bag that stays packed is great too, but one thing that has really helped me when traveling is to have a pre-made packing list in a notes app on my phone. I spent a chunk of time developing it, but once it’s done, it’s done forever. It then serves as a template, if you will, for future trips; I just duplicate that note when I’m going on a trip, and bam: there’s my packing list. I may add an item or 2 that is specific to that particular trip, but by and large, that’s it. I never worry that I’m forgetting something. I can just turn my brain off, put things in the suitcase, & check it off. Has taken all the angst out of packing for me. Sounds simple, but it makes such a big difference.
I think you’re totally right about having predictable products, whenever I bought something brand new for a trip I ALWAYS regretted it!! I’ve learned my lesson- bring my tried and true products no matter where I go! Also your right about exfoliating ingredients, in my long trips 2+ weeks, I usually have to use an exfoliator or clay mask halfway through because my skin gets so congested
Excellent choices for Haircare!! I love working with Virtue too. I’m a hairstylist, one of my favorite travel blow driers is the bioionic gold pro mini!
I just keep a list with each category she mentioned….it makes it easy to grab things. But, I also buy travel sizes whenever my products come that way. There is nothing worse than traveling with full size products that weigh your suitcase down!
I've had the Amika Mighty Mini hairdryer for 6 years now and I love it! I feel like it's as powerful as the big ones and perfect for travel: compact, dual voltage, reliable. Definitely check it out! 😊 Love from Brazil 💓
As a curly haired gal, I’ve travelled for years with my own pillow slip; back in the day, it was satin, now it’s silk. I don’t consider it Bougie, I consider it necessary so I don’t wind up looking like a frizzy mess and being kind to my fine hair and the extra benefit is that it’s kind to my face as well. The worst thing ever was leaving my pillow slip at our hotel accommodation in Florence Italy and having to be without it for the remainder of our travels through Italy.
This is a timely video as I'm preeping for some travel. I hate packing as well and like the idea of never unpacking in the first place! Would love to see a video on what makeup you pack.
I’m loving your content lately. I usually pack my favorite haircare items in small containers because the mini sizes can be pricey. I label them all and it’s so easy to travel. I definitely need that silk pillow. I got one from Amazon but I don’t think it’s real.
I bought myself a mini Conair travel hair dryer that is nice. If you want to invest in the popular Dyson dupe, I'd go for the Laifen hair dryer ($199 but you can use coupons). It is small but compact enough for travel and I feel it doesn't fry my hair at all! I've been using it and I love it. Also, Target and Walmart sells CeraVe travel size products.
Great video 😊 I have used the Drybar travel blow dryer (the Buttercup) for several years and it’s nice. It operates on multiple voltages so you can use it overseas too!
I keep a half packed toiletries bag for travel too. Great idea! I've asked about samples of recommended products for travel or to try out every time I've been to a dermatologist because the derms on YT commonly mention that they are happy to give samples out. But none of the derms I've seen have been willing to share samples. It's been odd because I've been given samples without asking at optometrist, dentist, orthopedists, primary care, etc.
My absolute favorite travel Blow dryer that I’ve used (and is dual voltage) is the T3! What are your thoughts on the skinceuticals retinol vs the Medik8 for travel? And, yes to doing a travel makeup video! Can you also please do a video on DNA repair products?!
Great information as I'm planning a 15-day travel excursion. Can you share what beauty tools you may take with you? (ie. red-light therapy) I was planning to take an Omnilux with me for plane use.
I am like you and get stressed when packing. Hate it hate it hate it. I think it is because I want all my options that I have at home. I also keep my bag (toiletries) packed at all times
I HATE packing as well, it causes so much anxiety and I always leave packing till the last minute and I always forget something 🤨 so now thanks to your video I am going to prepare a travel bag and put it into my suitcase! Thanks a bunch 🤩
I also hate drying my hair with those hotel hair driers. Along with my mini hair drier, I take an extension cord with me so that I can dry my hair in the hotel room and not in the steamy bathroom. My husband also appreciates this as he doesn’t have to wait for me to dry my hair to use the bathroom.
This video came at such a perfect time Dr. Ellis. I am in the process of packing for a trip to Maui with my husband and like you, packing overwhelms me and stresses me out. This video has helped a lot! I would definitely love to see the makeup one as well
Thoughts on Okeeffe’s lip repair for those with lip lickers dermatitis/severe eczema (my daughter) and those prone to Milia/acne around the mouth (me)?! I may buy a three pack but would love to know your thoughts first!
I have a question. What can you say about "UV lotions" without SPF rating? Is it enough? Or do they work for sun protection? To be specific, VASELINE have the GLUTA-HYA line and the "flawless glow" variant claims to be a UV lotion. What can you say about this?
Is the faux silk pillow case safe for use with acne prone skin? ☺️ I’m so afraid i’ll break me out. (Always used cotton&lyocell blend cases but it wrinkles my face 😁)
I now always pack the dyson airwrap with the brush attachment. It’s perfect for travel except the big cord. Also love bringing my hair towel I bought the crown affair one on your recommendation and it’s awesome! Thank you! I feel like augustinus bader is easy to pack and can be used for day or night Would love to know what you pack for body skin care 😊
I was also in search for a new travel blow dryer! I’m a Dyson girl at home so for travel I just got the l'ange le styliste luxe dryer. It’s very lightweight, compact yet powerful 💕 hope this helps!
Do you have any recommendations for switching from nightly use of .2% encapsulated retinol to .1% adapalene? My 15-year-old has been using retinol nightly for over 6 months (with a couple of months slow transition before) with no real progress on his acne. Derm also had him using cerave benzoyl cleanser beforehand, wondering if we should switch that to a gentle cleanser. He never had any issues with irritation. Thanks so much!!
With the cicaplaste can you apply that after your last step of moisturizer tretinoin then cicaplaste I’m really dry but don’t want to disrupt the effects of the tretinoin thank you
A question: my hair gets super tangled when I wash it, and if I wait until it's dry to brush it, those tangles come out, but the bulk from said tangles do not. I brush it with a Tangle Teezer, and it doesn't cause it to break too much. Should I do something different? Thank you 💖
Would love to know what hair products you are using and what type of hair you have (so I can have more context)! Also, do you live somewhere with hard water?
@@DrSamEllis I have very straight and fine blonde highlighted hair. I use Pureology products - Shampoo, conditioner and their leave-in spray. I live in Toronto and read we have moderately hard water (6-7 grains/gallon)
Sometimes pharmacies here in Australia have those little free samples hidden behind the cash register somewhere. I've been given heaps of CeraVe, La Roche-Posay, and Avène minis for free over the years just by asking 😊
Please do what makeup you use when you travel would love to see 😊

I do the same.
I also have a travel check list.
Yes I would love to see your travel makeup ! This was a great video ! Thank you for sharing !

T3 mini travel blow dryer it’s awesome
I would love to see your travel makeup. I will be traveling more and would like ideas
Yes, would love a video on travel makeup.
This was great! Please do a travel makeup video for your TH-cam family!
Excellent choices for Haircare!!
I love working with Virtue too. I’m a hairstylist, one of my favorite travel blow driers is the bioionic gold pro mini!

I love the Chi Tech travel hair dryer - folds up and doesn’t fry my fine hair
Thank you Kim for Chi Tech travel hair dryer. Just placed Amazon order.
I also use the Chi Tech not just for travel but all the time.
I've had the Amika Mighty Mini hairdryer for 6 years now and I love it! I feel like it's as powerful as the big ones and perfect for travel: compact, dual voltage, reliable. Definitely check it out! 😊 Love from Brazil 💓

Thanks for sharing, so helpful. Second the travel make-up suggestion and a “pack with me”.
This is a timely video as I'm preeping for some travel. I hate packing as well and like the idea of never unpacking in the first place! Would love to see a video on what makeup you pack.
We have a baby bliss pro travel and it's wonderful! Super powerful and folds up! Amazon for maybe 30.00
I love your miceller water idea - great hack! I’m doing that on my next trip! Would love to see a travel makeup video 🙏
I’m loving your content lately. I usually pack my favorite haircare items in small containers because the mini sizes can be pricey. I label them all and it’s so easy to travel. I definitely need that silk pillow. I got one from Amazon but I don’t think it’s real.
I seriously love the Lilysilk pillowcase 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼no cap
Same travel bag I use 😊Love it. I travel on a regular basis & do keep it packed 👌 too. Thanks for sharing
Target sells a smaller travel size of the foaming facial wash. It’s also my favorite cleanser that removes makeup easily.
Correct, Leslie M. I bought several at Target for travel, as well.
That’s smart to keep a travel skincare bag constantly packed. I always stress about packing my skincare routine before trips.
I bought myself a mini Conair travel hair dryer that is nice. If you want to invest in the popular Dyson dupe, I'd go for the Laifen hair dryer ($199 but you can use coupons). Does the TSA feel ok about such see through bags or do you have to still get a plastic bag for the liquids?
Great video 😊 I have used the Drybar travel blow dryer (the Buttercup) for several years and it’s nice. It operates on multiple voltages so you can use it overseas too!

This is a very smart idea. I always overthink packing for travel. I would definitely love to know the make up you take for trouble.
I'd love to hear about your travel makeup as well!!
Would love to see what makeup you travel with and where you pack it. Thanks for this video; enjoyed it very much.

The Cerva foaming face wash is great.
You literally make the videos that I need when I need them 😂 I LOVE YOU
Yes please travel makeup 😊
Would love to see video on travel makeup! Thank you, I enjoyed this video.
Oh and now it folds cool 😊
Just bought a silk pillow case! Thanks
Thanks for these tips! I love LilySilk, but none of my pillowcases from them have this pouch. It seems really useful for travelling!
Great information as I'm planning a 15-day travel excursion. Can you share what beauty tools you may take with you? (ie. red-light therapy) I was planning to take an Omnilux with me for plane use.

Never thought of taking my silk pillowcase, but I will next time.
I would love travel size products of your prequel brand❤
I HATE packing as well, it causes so much anxiety and I always leave packing till the last minute and I always forget something 🤨 so now thanks to your video I am going to prepare a travel bag and put it into my suitcase! Thanks a bunch 🤩
Would love to know your pre- flight and in flight skincare routine!!
I always appreciate travel videos. Thanks ❤

You can buy washable/reusable cotton rounds!
I would like to see travel makeup also please
I HATE PACKING TOO!!! The worst part is toiletries…keeping it to a minimum 🙈
Have you considered a video about impacted pores? The only thing I've found that works is super hot wash cloths
Travel hairdryer by GHD is amazing!
This video came at such a perfect time Dr. Ellis. I am in the process of packing for a trip to Maui with my husband and like you, packing overwhelms me and stresses me out. This video has helped a lot! I would definitely love to see the makeup one as well
Your videos are amazing ❤
do you take any beauty devices along with?
Is your travel bag the medium or large size? Thanks for the video!
Medium! The large is HUGE hehe
Please make a travel make-up video!
Dyson hair dryer. When you know, you know! :)
Hi Dr Ellis, love your content! Did you find a great travel blow dryer?
Do you stop using nightly retinol when vacationing in a sunny location?
Thoughts on Okeeffe’s lip repair for those with lip lickers dermatitis/severe eczema (my daughter) and those prone to Milia/acne around the mouth (me)?! I may buy a three pack but would love to know your thoughts first!
Loved watching this. Although unfortunately, at least in Australia, we can’t buy most of those travel-sized products 🙁
Very helpful. Just place Amazon order for travel bag. Thank you.
How you use the Dr. Gross peeling pads??
I have a question. What can you say about "UV lotions" without SPF rating? Is it enough? Or do they work for sun protection?

Is the faux silk pillow case safe for use with acne prone skin? ☺️ I’m so afraid i’ll break me out. (Always used cotton&lyocell blend cases but it wrinkles my face 😁)
I use a checklist too

Also love bringing my hair towel
I bought the crown affair one on your recommendation and it’s awesome! Thank you!

Thank you!!
Do you have the medium or large travel bag?
Being vegan I can not use the silk products but the rest are great!!! Your top is so nice, is it Banana Republic?
Assume this is for car travel, but could use another video on TSA sized travel 😊
This all passes through TSA! Never had an issue 😊

I wish I would have watched this before my trip. I pack way too much. My suitcase is always too heavy mostly from hair and skin products.
Has the la roche posay toleraine ultra moisturizer been reformulated?
Question: The toiletry bag you show in the video is the medium size or large? 🤓 thanks!
Medium!
Lovely video ❤ xx
Thank you for sharing!
I thought all liquids still had to be kept in a one liter baggie in our carry on? 🤔
Could you please tell us your thoughts about Paula's Choice Vitamin C 25%. Thank you.
Awesome video. Thanks 😊
With the cicaplaste can you apply that after your last step of moisturizer tretinoin then cicaplaste I’m really dry but don’t want to disrupt the effects of the tretinoin thank you

Same here! Super tangled hair when washed and I go in with a Tangle Teezer - Would love Dr. Ellis' advice
It may be worthwhile to try a detangling spray. I really like the one by Unite!

Pro tip 😃
Same in Germany
can you do a video about microcurrent at home devices (e.g. NuFace, Foreo)?
Is your bag the large or medium size?
Medium!
I would like to you travel make up 🙏💕
I hope she got paid for ALL of these endorsements.
I love my tiny BaBylissPRO Travel Size Tourmaline Titanium Hair Dryer, Ionic, 1000 Watts
Can i ask how old you are?
She said mid-30s
Day 5??? Thats why your hair is so thin
