Should We Be Afraid of Project 2025?

- Throughout the 2024 presidential campaign, we heard all sorts of wild stories about the Heritage Foundation's "Mandate for Leadership: Project 2025". But what is Project 2025 and now that the election is over, should we be concerned?

Project 2025 gotta be the biggest case of mass hysteria in recent history
Hmm.. I’d say C0v 1d was
Hahahaha... covid.
@ well at least then there was some reason I mean Covid was a deadly disease and there was significant opposition to Covid hysteria. It seemed like everyone the past few weeks was genuinely thinking America would turn into the handmaiden tale if Trump won
@@Demonos3 Covid was quite real.
It was overhyped, but the chinese definitely made the virus, and it definitely got out of their lab.
But in reality, it was no more deadly than any other new mutation that springs up.
@@Demonos3 Covid was at least an illness that some people died from. The response was largely incompetent and authoritarian, but back then you wouldn't be stupid for being afraid of covid. So yeah, still, this would probably be the biggest case of mass hysteria if we limit it to things that you really have no reason to be afraid of.
Project 2025 funds lab experiments to create genetically manipulated chihuahuas that can say "Yo quiero Taco Bell."

Since nobody is willing to read 900 pages to check for this, nobody can disprove this.
I've never eaten at Taco Bell but I loved that dog.
The Heritage Foundation was probably both happily surprised and extremely confused when their document became so widely discussed.
"We have published these for decades and nobody has ever read one before. They still haven't read our 2025 version, but at least they are talking about it".
They say there's no such thing as bad publicity; I don't believe that, but ppl DO say that.
Yha y’all are cultist and didn’t y’all said Trump has nothing to do with Project 25 before the election and how y’all kept saying it’s not part of the republicans agenda but now y’all are trying to say it’s good, 😂😂😂
@jred4511 why is this a response to my post? I have never even read project 2025, let alone endorse it. It is 900 pages long, so I assume it espouses some positions that I would agree with and others that I disagree with. It's like saying Biden wrote and supported the policy papers of a pro-Lgbt organization because they want to use support for Biden to get their way. The actual document clearly says it's a blueprint for any president. It's not even complex...it's really a series of essays and research papers if you read it

The second the MSM has called it a blueprint for a Fascist Theocracy I knew it was gonna be something good.
Even the lies that the Left perpetuated about it was kind of based.
I really wished the Heritage Foundation DID ask for some of those things!!
There's people on the left who think part of it is to bad same-sex marriage. Since it was over 900 pages long, I decided to find out if the rumor was true by pressing control+F and looking for the word "marriage" in it. IIRC, the word "marriage" appeared about 46 times, which felt manageable to look through. None of those mentions even brought up same-sex marriage; a lot of the time, "marriage" appeared in the context of the Federal government modifying its aid programs to _encourage_ marriage in the recipients.

Project 2025 is Heritage's "wish list to Santa". Which means a bunch of good stuff, and a bunch of nutty stuff. Oh and Heritage has written one of these every 4 years at least since the Reagan administration.
Even I take anything they say with a healthy helping of salt. Just another narcissist's scapegoat and it kind of worked. At least not in their favor at least. It shown us how many people are either ill informed or mentally troubled, or even both.
Good summary of the video, thanks
that's what i hate about the left's paranoia on project 2025. there is some good, some bad, but what matters is that it wasn't even remotely trump's equivalent to Hitler's mein kampf or Marx's Communist manifesto! like you said, it was more like a wish list to santa!
Its not even really a wish list so much as a "this or that" debate list, it tends to have two contending milquetoast "conservative" policy suggestions and proposes a simply debate over them.
IT IS NOT REAL!! Holy Friggen A, People will see things and brains just shut down these days. Project 2025 was a meme scare tactic by dems to make you not vote for trump. That is all it ever was. Fun fact about Project 2025. Close to the beginning it says it wants to ban adult content BUT around 800 pages later it's actually against banning or restricting adult content and says that instead the FTC should create educational websites for parents because it should be their responsibility. It's not even consistent within itself
@@vanilla8956 Well with 900 pages of text the writers themselves wold already get lost, just like every politician. Remember that neocons like Mike Pence and Kevin Roberts are part of Heritage
From what I can tell, a large part of 2025 is also an internal debate by right wing thought schools. Essentially there are multiple different approaches to most of the main discussed issues. The goal is to have at least one of the solutions picked on each of the topics even if they don't all come from the same school of thought.
@@cursedhfy3558 That is very smart, still a porn ban would result in a government department with a prudish ideology and unhinged world veiw censoring much like the Comics Code.
Its not about being consistent, but it actually simply gives a debate on policies, resulting in a lot of cases where it can suggest distinct avenues for policies that oppose each other, its not intended even really to be a policy handbook, but more a guideline of debate and suggestions from all sides of the "right wing conservative" spectrum for reducing the impact of the federal bureaucracy. (it does not however reduce the bureaucracy, just its impact) The thing its actually valuable for is being a very extensive report on the function and behavior of most of the departments of the federal government, its a lot more valuable for that then it is as a policy platform because it pretty much advises nothing in order to fix the problems we currently have.
@@Spartan322 I understand this. I just wish all of my former "friends" who are screaming and crying in fear of it also were able to understand this. My comment was really aimed at anyone who may have clicked on the video and just went to look at the comments to argue
My favorite project 2025 meme was the "noooo" screaming girl in a straight jacket with a doctor asking, "is Project 2025 in the room with us right now?"
And they called us conspiracy theorists....
@@pigzcanfly444 And Election Deniers
The very term "conspiracy theorist" was coined by the CIA to silence, intimidate, discredit and discourage anyone who dared to investigate JFK's assassination. _Let that sink the fuck in._
This is a 3 minute video that lacks any serious information. Although partially right, it intentionally leaves out a lot of things. While it's true that Project 2025 doesn't propose to monitor pregnant women, this idea comes from it's original proposal to repeal policies that the Biden Administration implemented post-Dobbs to protect the medical information and privacy of women seeking abortion.
And to ---- “ensure doctors and other medical providers and health plans know that, with limited exceptions, they are not required - and in many cases, are not permitted - to disclose patients’ private information, including to law enforcement.” The administration later finalized a rule to shield the medical records of patients from criminal investigations if they cross state lines to seek an abortion where it is legal.
From Project 2025's own document:
_OCR should withdraw its Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) 86 guidance on abortion. OCR should withdraw its June 2022 guidance 87 that purports to address patient privacy concerns following the Dobbs decision but is actually a politicized statement in favor of abortion and against Dobbs.”_
*Mandate for Leadership p. 497*
And while it is true that 2025 isn't explicitly a blueprint that Donald Trump is using, it is also true that a lot of his advisers and administration, especially his former administration, worked on Project 2025. Trump said that he wasn't going to do Project 2025, but at the same time lied about knowing about it. And now he's trying to do things like Schedule F, mass deportation, appointing loyalists, etc.
While it is most certainly an exaggeration that people will end up in "concentration camps," it is not totally unreasonable for people to be worried about it. The Heritage Foundation isn't just any normal think tank, it has quite the amount of political influence.
Trump said the eleciton was rigged. how does it feel to be lied to by your God Emperor?
"Always accuse your enemies of what you yourself are doing"

I understand that Project 2025 will punish anyone not returning a shopping cart to a retail store with vivisection.
About time.
Many of the things listed in Project 2025 are a lot easier said than done, anyway.
I agree, any political ramifications usually need to go through the 4 branches of government.
Unless you're a Dictator who overthrow the branches of government with force or Diplomacy.
"Palpatine"
When you have to mute the Mark Hamill clip:
The world is healing and they hate it
Who's they?
@@ludwigvangaming1822they/them, polyamorous, genderless rainbow haired freaks
@@ludwigvangaming1822 you dont understand...heh..😈😈😈😈..its the media. and their LIBERAL BIAS!!!!11!1!1
If Y'all call this healing, Then why everyone so divided, and pissed about capitalism being expensive.
@@night_hunter4752 because they don't know
That post truth comment was spot on
Did anyone else notice only the democrats talked about 2025?
I noticed they merely referenced it but avoided discussing any actual particulars. Clearly opining from ignorance.
That's because Republicans work for a living.
We don't have time for make believe.
The greatest plot twist in history is when we start actually doing the stuff they’re afraid of 😈
It's alarming how many people took the lies hook line and sinker.
They want to believe them.
This video is trying to minimize how bad project 2025 actually by pointing out how some people made exaggerated claims about what was in it. Ignoring the fact that what was actually in it was in fact straight up dystopian.
Please provide page numbers for the parts you are referring to.
Project 2025 sounds awesome! 😆 🤣
Only problem is that there’s SOOOOO many racist menstrual cycle trackers we’ll have to install in all the trans people. I hope we can find the money!
The only thing I don't like is the banning of porn, it's definitely against the 1st amendment no matter what they claim
@@cosmicelectron I agree that people should have the right to do anything they want to at home.
@@cosmicelectron Yeah, even if It's bad, you can change the definition of it and simply ban anything you want. Thats the big issue
About 90% of it seems to be "scale back federal agencies and put Republicans in charge."
I made this same argument to users on a different social media platform and the admins of the page kept deleting my posts. It was like they were determined to believe the lie no matter what the facts were.
So that's why this elections came with even more online democrats meltdowns than ever before?😐
project 2025 promised to break into my house and erase all of my nintendogs
NOT THE NINTENDOGS!!!
project 2025 promised to kick my tv and bully me at the playground
Well... the media misrepresented project 2025 but people voted for it so maybe they should implement some of those policies!...
It's called dumbing it down without proper citations. Cause they got 10min. Over 900 pgs. And advertisers want Nothing to do with it.
Mainstream media isn't setup to handle a document that big properly.
Literally the handmaid's tale!
The AP is still calling the election for Trump. It's wild.
Gee. Wonder why.
His VP wrote the foreward to it. And he hired half a dozen authors of it.
Does anyone remember Project 2030?
Forget 2025, I'm all for PROJECT 2026!
How many times did Trump say "I have zero idea what the hell that is."?
"Well a bunch of people that know him seem to know what it is!"
Ok, so people that worked for him inthe past did a video presentation, and?
Project 2025 is going to ban those half shaved head haircuts. Also broccoli hair.
They're gonna shut off the weather machine. Nuff said.
Fear what you don't know because someone else told you so.
This needs to be seen by everyone
I still need to read Poject 2025, but they ran out of phsyical copies.
I'll just have to read it on my computer. :(
Last I checked there's a free PDF. Right on the Heritage foundation website.
Cannot trust Harris publication in a debate, even if they're the same.
Well considering that the head of NPR claimed that the pursuit of truth is a distinction, this all makes perfect sense!!🤣🤣🤣
That's why I voted red.
Let's GOOOOOO!!! 2025!!!
Every time I saw someone perpetuating the lie of the alleged connection between Trump and Project 2025, I made sure to link articles from both left-wing and right-wing media debunking it. Educating people about the truth is something I took great pride in during the election cycle. I just hope it opened even one person's eyes.
