The Maxpedition Cocoon Pouch is a great pouch for a fire kit, or a survival kit on a knife sheath. This is how I make sure the pouch doesn’t open accidentally.
Thanks for sharing this idea. I always cut all my stock zipper pulls shorter. But Im getting ready to make new pulls, so each cocoon has a different color pull to identify contents. But after seeing this I’m going to make the new ones longer to secure the zip and indicate if I pulled something out that needs to go back in. Kind of a tool check indicator.
I like to put these on knife sheaths for little fire kits or other survival gear. I had one open up on me. Didn’t lose anything but it was close. An nDur water filter straw and a 6”x1/2” ferro rod (along with a Hank of jute twine) is usually what I have in them. …and thanks for the comment 👍🏼
