By that logic, you should be hating GTA protagonists from Tommy Vercetti onwards. There has always been a disconnect between them being ruthless killers, yet having soft spots for other characters for whatever hypocritical reasoning they espouse. Its nothing about "social justice" or whatever political brainrot you keep bringing up.
No seriously, I'm not getting this "ideology" talk when ever since GTA III, the writers have always had satire and ever since Vice City, had main characters who are made nuanced in their inherit contradictions. If you think all GTA main characters are stupid besides Claude, thats fine. But then, there'd be no point in expecting a difference after all these decades.

Franklin would probably be scared if Trevor didn't like him, even Michael is a bit scared of Trevor despite being able to stand up to him
Trevor is usually friendly (by Trevor standards) towards Franklin, and Micheal's known him too long to be scared
