I used this video to replace my right-side mirror that had a broken stem. I wanted to keep my old shell because the replacement mirror came with a different color. I watched another video on how to remove the inner door panel so I could get at the mirror bolts, then watched this video once the mirror mount was free from the vehicle. My 2014 Accord Sport had, not one, but two sets of clips holding the glass -- one on the outside bottom and one on the inside bottom. The clips were slightly different as well. Nonetheless, the principal was the same. Also there were two additional sets of clips holding the shell on that were hidden by the rotating mechanism. I had to remove two small star screws (#10 I believe), probably obvious which two, in order to get at the hidden clips. Once that was done, I had to do the same to get the wrong-colored shell off the new mirror. However, the new mirror had Phillips head screws, not star screws. In all, this helped me a lot. Thanks for the video!
Thanks. I just put the oem black caps on my 19 accord. Cheaper for me to buy oem factory painted caps vs having the white ones professionally painted. I took my time because it sounds as if something is going to break haha.
What is that white piece called? Someone told only the glass mirror but I’m noticing the white diamond like piece is missing as well and I’d like to order the replacement for it.
Hello. Good day! One question, my car has a basic mirror (without any function). Is it possible to install a mirror with direction and sensor? Thank you
catherine tympou not sure tbh. But I have seen a good amount on eBay. I would recommend going to the junk yard they might have them there. www.ebay.com/itm/274427799864
Are your mirrors heated? My just cracked mine today and have the unheated version and I'm just wondering if that white piece your glass was connected to is only in the heated versions or if that part is in them all.
I have the same Accord Sport and have to replace my 'skull cap". In your video at 3:33 min mark you said that basically you had to just pull the cap off and motioned with your hands where the approximate location to do that was. I was hoping that you could be a little more specific. Did you just have to use your hand on the outside of the cap to pull the cap off at that location, or did you have to use a screwdriver or something to unhook 1 or 2 plastic tabs inside at that location first and then pull it off? Any verbal tips you have to be more specific on how you finally got it off would be really appreciated. Thanks... and great job with the video! IF anyone else has done this maybe you have some tips too. Thanks!
How can I remove a broken glass piece off the black plastic piece attached to the glass - hot gun? I have a new glass to put it on. I guess I can simply stick a new glass on top of the broken glass.
Hey man, I tried to follow this video to remove cap off my mirror but i was unsuccessful. not only that, but when i tried to put the mirror back on, i think i may have broken something because now i can't control the mirror with the mirror adjuster button. it just rocks back and forth like its not grabbing. do you know what i did wrong or what i need to do to make sure it moves normally? i wish your video would have shown the actual process of you removing the cap and also installing it. it's not that helpful when you cut to the end and dont show the process.
Garry Sarkisian hey man sorry to hear that. Not sure what you exactly did but it seems like you are having issues with the mirror (glass) not the cap itself. Try removing the glass and install it again. It was really tough that’s why I couldn’t show it cuz I got stuck myself not gonna lie. And it took me a long time to do it
@@Iegend17 no problem dude, it's a pain in the butt to get the cover off. i can't seem to get to that clip that is all the way in the back lol. i'll have to take another look at the mirror sometime. i have a big scratch on the cap which is why i wanted to replace it.
I'm not an expert at all, but it looks like the white part that holds the glass in place was broken in this video. Maybe that's why your mirror doesn't move correctly afterwards.

Simple Living try to remove it. What black plastic. If it has glue then yes for sure use heat gun.

What is the white part behind the morrir?

I want to install the ones with the turn signal..do you think it’s possible?
JJM it is. You might need to mess with the wires. Maybe you need to buy a different harness.
I have seen it done on a previous model year the wire runs all the way up to the door and you just have to tap in.
