This video was a roller coaster of emotion for me, as an fp aficionado 😂 It looks like the fins got damaged on the brighter pink one’s feed. 😢 please be careful swapping nibs. I would also check the section. Whenever I’ve heard that snap, my section cracked. 😕 hopefully yours is fine though! That fuschia ink is lovely and looks like a perfect match for the pink!! I’m also very happy you haven’t had any issues with mixing the black inks. Sometimes inks can have reactions when mixed that create a gross sludge, especially if you’re mixing between brands. The stub nibs really do make your handwriting shine!! Thanks for sharing!
Love your energy, so relatable! I'm fairly new to fountain pens and loving them in EF nibs, but this video made me curious to try the stubs, too. Happy Holidays! 🎉
Very generous of you to make this video! I agree with the comment made previously -- the fins in the TWSBI nibs are rather fragile and can easily be bent. The pen will still write, but bent fins are unsightly. It's important to hold that feed by the sides if you can, and not to crush them with your fingers as you grasp the feed. Also, the size nib to get for a replacement is a #5 nib, not a #6 nib, in case someone can't quite read the packaging. Your two pink ECOs look good next to each other and the inks you chose are beautiful. I am planning to buy the next ECO coming out in Persian Green, and your video has helped me decide to get the 1.1 stub nib.
I switched out my Eco nib with the Mini nib. I HATE the Eco, but I loved that Stub nib. I happened on the Mini and swapped out the nibs with ease. The Eco and mini nibs are the same size and are friction fit. The switch out was quick and super easy.
Goulet's nibs fit on any pens that use the same size. I have a Goulet nib on my Diplomat Aero. LAMY nibs are easy to switch too. Goulet also sells LAMY nibs.
I've been following you for over a year. This is one of my favorite videos! I wish I saw this video before getting into fountain pens. My experiences were the same as yours and it made me giggle. Keep bringing content. I love that you show some of the imperfections too!
😭 I just stabbed my finger trying to take out an extra fine nib, so instead of swapping the nibs in my pens, I just swapped the piston and lids instead. I cannot get that nib out.
Found my way here through the usual youtube rabbit hole. I just recently ordered my first fountain pen, a Twsbi Eco with a medium tip. I was given a bottle of IroShizuku asa-gao (Morning glory for translation. It is a sky blue color. I am still waiting on the pen but this video looked like a treat for the future! Thank you for taking your time.
piston fillers are my go to for long writing sessions. heart of darkness is my fave black ink. i’ve been into fps longer than planning - are we related? 😂
I am so glad you did this video. I learned a lot. I really wanted to try a wider nib but was afraid. Thank you for inspiring me and explaining it so clearly to me!
I rarely ever change colors/inks in my pens so I simply refill with the same colors and, I do have many FPs. I wear gloves to avoid getting ink all over my hands when I’m filling pens. Other times if ink gets on my hands - hand sanitizer or wet ones can take ink off if you wipe it off right away; otherwise I will make a bit of scrubby paste with bar keepers friend, it seems to lighten up and remove ink really well.
How to order a nib from Goulet? Brand? Number? I have a Twsbi Eco Medium nib, but it is to bold . I nead to change for a fine nib. Can you help me to make the right order? Thank you.
Question here! I filled my eco with the syringe the same exact way you showed. However it's been leaking from the feed. It didn't at first, but now it's almost empty and it is. Did I put the nib/feed in wrong? How do I know I have it sitting properly in? I'm scared I broke it by doing something wrong.😥
You didn’t break it. Pull out the feed and on the end of the base of the pen you will see the inner grooves. You need the nib and feed to fit in there tightly. When you look at it you’ll see what I mean. And the reason it leaked is cause you didn’t push it in tight enough.
Oh man, I had no idea you could swap the nibs on TWISBI Eco’s 🤦♀️. I just ordered a new one with a broad nib because my new Ferris wheel press shimmer ink kept clogging my medium nib. Ah well, good to know for the future 😂
How do you know what size nib you are looking at? I just purchased an Eco broad but I don't see any marking on the nib to determine the size without pulling the nib off. Is it on the nib underneath the grip?
@@talksfromtheheart Nope nothing on the cardboard sleeve or plastic box. Too afraid to pull nib off 😬Also, I love your pen case!!!! I looked on your Amazon link and didn't find it there or the Birmingham site..Uhhmm today is not my day...LOL
I’ve watched this video a few times and I appreciate your guidance with the nib exchange. I knew you could swap out a mini nib but not a Goulet - and isn’t Goulet compatible with Jowo , making TWSBI compatible with Jowo???? Would that work too? Anyway - thank you! How do you like the DeAtramentis document inks. Considering one for work. Thanks again for the informative video! God bless!
The only nibs I can find in the UK is diamond one and that’s only £15 less than a new Twsbi. When Twsbi replaced my nib I had to pay postage from Germany so I’m guessing you can’t get them in the UK
@@talksfromtheheart I haven’t yet but I’d imagine it would be just as dear. What were the nibs? As Twsbi told me they don’t make replacement nibs so was this a compatible nib?
Girl, I am THRILLED I found your channel! In the countless hours I spend learning about fountain pens on TH-cam from “popular” FP youtubers-This video was EXCELLENT! You quickly showed your organization method for your pens and inks (Which stole my heart) completely brilliant. You are knowledgeable. Just great content for this particular video. I wish more females did total fountain pen reviews. But I wish that about many of the topics I learn about on TH-cam. Now I’m going to binge watch your videos!!! Thank you for your content! 🎉
TWSBI does have a manufacturing plant in China. Some of the colors do say Made In China, others say Made In Taiwan. It depends on the color of the pen.
I tried with a cheap Amazon pen and didn’t like it. I just made a huge mess and gave up. I think i might have just been using the wrong pens and not having patience with the ink

Thank you for sharing. I have 2 Twsbi echos and one of the nibs was on my last nerve. Then was trying to find what to order to replace it with. ❤
Yesss I was just wondering if this was possible. Thanks for sharing. 💜

Thank you so much! I wanted to change my ECO’s…. I appreciate you including the problems - I know I will have them. You’re the best and entertaining.
I want to try a fountain pen. I heard they write beautifully. Thanks for the information

That Tesla Coil 😍
So glad you did this! I’ve been so afraid of switching nibs. But if you can do it, I think I can! I heard the pop when you got then inserted too!

I have 2 Ecos. Love ‘em!
What a helpful video! Stub nib is my favorite as well and I’m going try your hack!🥳🤩

Love writing with fountain pens! But I had stopped using them for a while. You are inspiring me to ink them up and start using them. Thank you.
I stopped for awhile too! I always find my way back to them for journaling.
Thank you!

It was a give so I’m sorry I don’t know the exact name.

I cannot seem to get my TWSBI nib to pull out like you showed? It’s stuck?
Maybe soak it
I love your pen case! May i ask where you purchased it?
It’s a yuruliku and you can google
Search it because there are many shops that sell them
I love your style!! High five ✋🏽😃

What are the five pens that are the same model but different colors in the left side of your pen pouch?
Those are LePen Markers.
@@talksfromtheheart oh, nice. Thanks for replying!
Do you still have your orange Twsbi? I’ve been on the hunt for that pen since I saw yours and I can’t find it anywhere.
I have two and can only find one.🙄

i use syringes on mine too !
Yes it’s easier and less messy too depending on the pen
yep, and less chance for adding bacteria and mold into your inks!@@talksfromtheheart
Is this made in china? The one I bought transparant blue has eco china written on cap.
No mine are not an off brand from China

Try an ECO super easy! And at a fair price!
The Winnie the Pooh Pen it’s a retro 51 and they are collectibles ❤❤
Oh yes I know! It was a gift! I treasure it
Not me watching because I want to swap my nibs to match my ink to my pen and prefer different nib sizes with different colours 💀
This woman is a trip. And the accent! Is it Minnesota? It’s not southern for sure but not that nasty north east yankee New Jersey thing
Originally from Minnesota. Is it that obvious? Hhhmmm I didn’t realize
