This theme is literally the only good thing about Sabine. Beyond that, she is a complete and utter dar’manda. Refuses to strike down a defeated opponent in single combat, as is tradition. Knowingly turns her back and exposes her jetpack to the aforementioned foe, both a rookie mistake and a cardinal sin in Mandalorian culture. And then, to top it all off, she also created the ARC Pulse generator, a weapon that directly targets and destroys beskar’gam, which is seen as a symbol of unification and is intrinsic to the six tenants of the Resol’nare. Oh and her convincing Bo-Katan to join the Alliance ultimately lead to the Mandalorian Purge and subsequent decimation of the Clans. That pretender led Mandalore to naught but ruination and death. Sabine is eternally dead, she will never enter into the endless glory of Manda. That is an honour reserved for true Mando’ade, not naive, foolish little girls playing around in their traditional armour.
@@blakemast1445 ^ Here is a more comprehensive breakdown of why I detest Sabine. This was first written months ago, for reference. Sabine Wren is a disgrace to the Mandalorian Clans. Firstly, she was heavily influenced by Jedi doctrine due to the time she spent with Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus. Whilst not an inherently bad thing, as Mandalore the Preserver was also altered philosophically by his experiences with Revan, she ultimately turned her back on the honour and traditions of her people in order to fully embrace the Jedi Arts, unlike Canderous Ordo. By the end of Rebels, Sabine does not even follow the resol’nare anymore. In fact, after defeating Gar Saxon, she actually claimed that the Mandalorian way was no longer her way. As such, she does not deserve to wear her armour. Every second that she is still clad in it is nothing short of an affront to every single proud mando’ade that has ever existed, dating right the way back to Mandalore the First and the Progenitors. It is one thing to try and reform your faith, another entirely to become an apostate. She is a blasphemer who at the very least deserves to be exiled both for abandoning her heritage completely and blindly leading her people into oblivion as a result of her naive idealism. She is not only an ineffectual leader, but also an unworthy Mandalorian. When Sabine dies, her soul will not merge with that of her forefathers. Nor shall it ever, for she is eternally dead. Sabine is, by her own admission, a dar’manda. The truth is that she ultimately led Mandalore to ruin. Her actions caused the the eventual Mandalorian Purge, because she was the one who convinced Bo-Katan to ally with the Rebel Alliance. Mandalrore was strong under the Empire, far more than it had been under the New Mandalorians and especially more so than it was under the New Republic, where they were reduced to living within gutters and sewage networks due to the failings of both Bo-Katan Kryze and Sabine Wren. Sabine is responsible for the decimation of the Mandalorian Clans, a transgression that is made even worse by the fact that she does not even respect their customs or traditions. Sabine saw her own people as a little more than a means to an end, a way to reinforce her allies in the Rebel Alliance. And for what? Yet another corrupted Senate and an inefficient government with no standing military, brought to its knees by a small Imperial Remnant within thirty years of its founding. Additionally, what sort of Mandalorian creates a weapon that specifically targets the weaknesses of beskar’gam, one of the ancient pillars of mando’ade society? Precisely, a dar’manda. Bo-Katan and the other Mandalorians had every right to be furious at her for making the ARC Pulse Generator. Even Gar Saxon, a man who Sabine tried to claim was an unworthy ruler who was crushing their cultural identity by aligning with the Empire, would have detested her for desecrating their sacred traditions according to Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose testimony I wholeheartedly believe. There isn’t a self respecting Mandalorian alive who would have ever accepted such a task, even as a challenge. They would have seen it for what it truly is, a blasphemy, an insult to their ancestors. The fact that Sabine did not recognise this fact and instead chose to create the weapon without thinking of the dire consequences or the cultural effects it would have on her people speaks volumes. What she did to rectify this error is utterly irrelevant, a true Mandalorian would never have made it in the first place. She has absolutely no respect for the resol’nare, nor for the Mandalorian people. How can one who displays such a flippant disregard for the Six Tenants ever be considered anything else other than a dar’manda? Then, from an out of universe perspective, the writers of the show really cheapened that whole arc by faking out her mother Ursa Wren’s “death”, instead merely killing off some unnamed Mandalorians at the very last minute. That’s another thing that I absolutely hate about Sabine’s character, they never properly address her shortcomings nor allow her actions to have actual consequences, at least in Rebels. It makes her incredibly dull to watch. The Mandalorian Purge and the Night of a Thousand Tears was likely a direct consequence of the Mandalorians turning against the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. It is also probably the reason why Moff Gideon is in possession of the Darksaber in the Mandalorian. In all likelihood, he killed Bo-Katan for it during the events of the Purge. In this sense, not only is Sabine responsible for the utter decimation of the Mandalorian Clans, but also possibly the death of Bo-Katan and the Darksaber falling into the hands of an Imperial Moff. But because she recovered Clan Vzisla’s ancestral blade from Maul’s den on Dathomir, I am supposed to forgive her? No, I will not. The Purge was her fault, blatantly. Had Gar Saxon remained in power, Mandalore would have still been loyal to the Empire during the Galactic Civil War. As such, the Purge would not have occurred. The fact that it did was purely due to Sabine imploring the Mandalorians to fight for the Rebellion. I have seen people use the genocide of the Geonosians as justification for Sabine wanting to distance Mandalore from the Empire, as if it is evidence that Sidious would have eventually betrayed them too, but this just isn’t logical. The two cultures both had completely different circumstances. The Geonosians had just finished constructing the foundations of a gargantuan, highly classified space station capable of destroying an entire planet with a single shot of its super laser. A technological terror that the Empire were attempting to conceal from the Galactic Senate. The Empire massacred the Geonosian hives by launching toxic gas canisters into their catacombs because they were privy to the Death Star’s structural weaknesses and were a loose end when it came to maintaining the secrecy of the project. Meanwhile, the Mandalorians served as Imperial enforcers within the Outer Rim and had a network of vast shipyards built within their sector of space. The Imperials even had academies built upon many their worlds. Under the Galactic Empire, the Mandalorians had prospered more as a warrior culture than they had in at least seven centuries, perhaps even longer. Then an extremely naive, incredibly foolish Rebel sympathiser came along and ruined it all: I am going to quote Grand Admiral Thrawn in a moment, because I think it serves wonderfully to highlight the often over-zealous view that people have of the Galactic Empire. Mandalore was never under any real danger from Emperor Palpatine. They were not being used by the Empire like the Geonosians, but rather they were actually successfully integrated into the new government, perhaps more so than any other Outer Rim planet. The Mandalorians respect might and the Empire was strength incarnate. They were a perfect match, until Sabine Ween became her people’s undoing; "I encounter civilians like you all the time. You believe the Empire is continually plotting to do harm. Let me tell you, your view of the Empire is far too dramatic. The Empire is a government. It keeps billions of beings fed and clothed. Day after day, year after year, on thousands of worlds, people live their lives under Imperial rule without seeing a stormtrooper or hearing a TIE fighter scream overhead..." - Grand Admiral Thrawn
@@blakemast1445 *continued* The orbital bombardments that reduced Mandalore, as well as many of her neighbouring worlds, to smouldering, barren wastelands were carried out by the Galactic Republic as a response to Mandalore’s refusal to demilitarise following the Ruusan Reformations. The very government that Sabine Wren fought to restore to power were the ones who had formerly reduced Mandalore to naught but glass. Its successor state, the Galactic Empire, was ruled by a Sith, whose religious peers had also felt the malice of both the Old Republic and Jedi Order during the Ancient Sith Holocaust. Why wouldn’t these two factions make for perfect allies after the formation of the New Order? Once more, Sabine showed a total lack of respect for her ancestors, highlighted her non-existent knowledge of her people’s history and generally demonstrated just how easily manipulated that she truly is. The Jedi really did do a number on her, didn’t they? But she then faced the consequences of her actions, didn’t she? No, she did not. After the Battle of Endor, she ran away into the Unknown Regions with Ahsoka Tano in order to chase the phantom of Ezra Bridger, her long lost, Force Sensitive boyfriend, rather than attempting to rebuild Mandalore. She did nothing to help the Mandalorians recover from the genocide that she was responsible for. Even five years after the Fall of the Emprie, the Mandalorians were still living within gutters and sewers, whilst she galavanted around uncharted space to selfishly find but a single Jedi padawan. She took not one ounce of responsibility for her actions. Ever. People often talk about how the Empire took advantage of the mando’ade, but what did the New Republic ever do for them? What support or aid did the newly reformed Galactic Senate offer to the scattered and broken Mandalorian Clans after they had lost everything in order to support the Rebel Alliance? What did Sabine Wren herself do? Nothing, on either count. Absolutely nothing. They were treated as little more than pawns, thrown to the wolves once their sacrifices had been made and there was nothing left that they could extrapolate from them. The Rebellion did to the Mandalorians exactly what they claimed that the Empire were going to do, only without first blessing them with almost two decades of prosperity. Do you know what is far, far worse than being ignorant of your culture? Knowing its ways, being brought up to respect them, yet discarding them at a moment’s notice irrespective. That is precisely what Sabine did. She is a Dar’manda through and through, utterly unworthy of wearing her armour. She is a disgrace to her Clan, one of many. In all honesty, Sabine should remain forever in exile within the Unknown Regions. because she is a complete and utter failure who betrayed her family and her people for a boy that she had only recently met. As for the Empire, I feel that many people still view Star Wars through the childlike perspective that the Jedi, Rebellion and Republic are always just and right in every circumstance, whilst the Empire, Sith and their supporters are purely and wholly evil. Nothing is ever truly that simple, there are only varying degrees of guilt and shades of moral grey. That is what makes characters like Thrawn so compelling, because they are good people with lofty and noble goals who are forced to associate with unsavoury individuals and organisations in order to see their ambitions accomplished. The Rebels are just as questionable in their methods and actions as the Empire are, their abandonment of the Mandalorian Clans only serves to further reinforce this point.
This theme really brings out what the Empire did to Mandalore, all the sadness they felt and all they have been through since Maul's coup. Really one of your best works
Right. Things really have been sh*t for Mandalore ever since Maul took over, haven't they? With the exceptions of those brief moments when Bo-Katan was in charge, things were just super sh*tty for Mandalore all the way up to the modern day. It's really quite sad.
@@OmegaTheMyth I've always had the imagine of Gideon killing Bo-Katan in a duel (like Maul) and then ordering the Mandalorians - as their supreme leader - to all die. Then bombing the planet and leaving with the satisfaction of a job well done.
Gideon: Kills and purges dozens of Mandalorians on their homeworld, melting their holy armor and captures the darksaber. Sabine, painting the walls on Lothal: "This is fine."
@@orbaitv5991 I wanna see her reaction about the Great Purge. In Rebels ending, It doesn't seems like she knows about what happened on Mandalore. I mean, Bo-Katan and her family are probably dead.
My head cannon is that it was so severe and quick by the time she was finding a ship it was over. The Empire is clearly capable of genocide on an industrial scale.
Most likely, I would have put the Purge after Sabine left. That or it's "not yet existing" continuity weirdness, like if anything happens in the new Clone Wars season being different from Rebels established stuff.
Where is the Great Purge of Mandalore mentioned? Comics, novels or where. Until The Mandalorian came out I never wondered what happened to Mandalore after Rebels and after ROTJ
Rebels is one of the best things to come about in the history of Star Wars. All those characters, new, and from Clone Wars were so fascinating to see, and oh man, how Kanan is such an amazing new addition. His death is one of the most powerful moments in the whole franchise.
I'd say Rebels isn't as good, but the catch is that some of the high points of Rebels are just as good...if not better than some of the high points of TCW. All of Kanan, Sabine's redemption, and the Ezra and Thrawn conflict are going to be sticking with me for a while as a huge SW fan.
in my opinion, clone wars had more really good episodes, but i think that the good episodes that rebels did have were the best episodes, like for example, the final episode in rebels was the best episode in all of rebels and clone wars, 2nd has to be the maul on mandalore arc, for me personally

Not gonna lie this brought actual tears to my eyes. Sabine is one of my favourite characters in all of Star Wars, and hearing her theme be enhanced in such an amazing way is just spectacular. Had goosebumps the entire video!!
"The truth is... I left to save everyone!" In this moment, Sabine realized that she did not leave to be a traitor to Mandalore; she left to be its savior.
Sabine's redemption is one of my favorite parts of Rebels. I'm super excited for the sequel series, it is INEVITABLE(I feel like either a really good or really bad person for referencing Marvel). I think it would be a good idea to have Sabine find out about the Mandalorian purge during the series or to have it mentioned at the very least. She spent the majority of the show trying to save her family when at the end of the day everything came crashing down around her anyways. It would be a super emotional and memorable moment that they can't possibly skip over.
Its a show about Mandalorians....frankly it would be a travesty if they didn't include at least ONE of Star Wars most beloved Mandalorians. I wouldnt mind if Boba made an appearance too, but since his status as a Mandalorian is so contested amongst fans that might push some buttons.
Kanan's death and Ezra really got to me. I watched seasons 1-3 on-air, but watched season 4 on disney+, and it made me love the characters, even more, rediscovering them. I cried like a baby over Kanan, and Ezra saying "There were many paths in front of me, and this isn't the one I wanted to take..." made me cry even more.
LothCatRun For me, I find it a lot funnier rewatching it now. I know the humor can be hit or miss in all of the animated Star Wars shows (besides the LEGO ones, which are gold) but for some reason Rebels has been making me laugh a lot lately!
"They ruled us through fear, Mandalore!! Afraid of the weapons I helped create! I HELPED ENSLAVE MY PEOPLE!!! I tried to stop it, I HAD to stop it! I spoke out! I spoke out to save everyone! …But when I did...My family didn't stand with me. They chose the Empire, they left me, gave me no choice. The Empire wanted to destroy worlds...And they did, they destroyed mine!" :'( Will never forget the first time I watched that scene...still get emotional about it. Each of the Ghost crew has their own powerful story, but I must admit, I hope to see a sequel series to Rebels just to see Sabine and Ahsoka reunite with Ezra.
With Ahsoka coming back, I keep returning to this video. Sabine is one of my favorite characters in Rebels and all of Star Wars for that matter, but in my opinion she has the single best personal theme motif in the franchise. It's astounding how perfectly in can encapsulate every facet of her character. Both the original score and this rendition do this so well, but you can hear at times this aloof mystique (the beginning especially) just how she's introduced into the series. Then it grows and becomes strong, sure, and proud like the Mandalorian warrior she is (The Mandalorian theme itself fits perfectly in with that). But it ends somber and vulnerable but there is no better word to describe it other than "lonely". As evident throughout the Rebels series, she was more of the lone wolf of the crew, but as we learn she wasn't necessarily like that by choice, having felt outcast by her people or just misunderstood by others. It doesn't help matters that in the epilogue we do see that she was on her own again with the Ghost Crew having gone their separate ways and the war taken it's course. And whenever I hear those last melancholy notes play out (@2:30), I can only picture her leaning over the railing of the tower on Lothal but in my mind it's just one of the thousand-some-odd days between Ezra leaving and Ahsoka returning. For her sake, I desperately hope she and Ezra can reunite...
does anyone else think that Sabine staying on Lothal throughout the Galactic Civil War kind of confirms that she had feelings for Ezra? Especially now that we know the Mandalorians got genocided by the Empire during that time. You don't stay on someones homeworld and even stay there instead of fighting for your people for someone you don't care about in that way.
Pretty much. I mean, none of the Ghost crew stayed on Lothal, and even tho Sabine having a responsibility to Mandalore but still staying on Lothal kinda confirms this
Sabine protected Lothal, then when the war was done, she committed herself to finding Ezra. I don't think she realised how she truly felt until Ezra made that sacrifice.
I'd love to see a picture of all the Mandalorians who put their all for their home and their galaxy. Satine, Bo-Katan, Sabine and Clan Wren, Fenn Rau, Din Djarin(with maybe the Armorer standing just behind him), and all of the clones who went above and beyond lined up behind, with Force 99 and Omega(with maybe a young Boba with her) on one end, and Tarre Vizsla standing behind them all. I never got into the Mandalorian thing that grew after the original trilogy, but I give a lot of credit to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau for changing my mind big time.
I agree be amazing if Sabine appears in the second season but would also be a bit strange to see her live action because were so used to see her in animation however not that I am complaining I can’t wait to see the Rebels characters in live action!
We know the limitations of live-action, but we also love these characters so much that we can appreciate the art and their efforts, specially seeing their great job on Ahsoka's first live-action appearance.
sabine's theme , emotional, full, emphatizing mando's theme , headstrong, determined, engaging in summary, both complement each other so well. sabine's theme shows kindness behind the beskar, and mando's resembles loyalty
Sabine's theme really hits hard for me, she struggles with the darksaber BECAUSE of her internal struggle and I relate deeply with just wanting to connect with her family even though shes seen as a traitor in the eyes of her people she yearns for redemption always trailing 2 steps behind.

^ Here is a more comprehensive breakdown of why I detest Sabine.
Meanwhile, the Mandalorians served as Imperial enforcers within the Outer Rim and had a network of vast shipyards built within their sector of space. The Imperials even had academies built upon many their worlds. Under the Galactic Empire, the Mandalorians had prospered more as a warrior culture than they had in at least seven centuries, perhaps even longer. Then an extremely naive, incredibly foolish Rebel sympathiser came along and ruined it all: I am going to quote Grand Admiral Thrawn in a moment, because I think it serves wonderfully to highlight the often over-zealous view that people have of the Galactic Empire. Mandalore was never under any real danger from Emperor Palpatine. They were not being used by the Empire like the Geonosians, but rather they were actually successfully integrated into the new government, perhaps more so than any other Outer Rim planet. The Mandalorians respect might and the Empire was strength incarnate. They were a perfect match, until Sabine Ween became her people’s undoing;
"I encounter civilians like you all the time. You believe the Empire is continually plotting to do harm. Let me tell you, your view of the Empire is far too dramatic. The Empire is a government. It keeps billions of beings fed and clothed. Day after day, year after year, on thousands of worlds, people live their lives under Imperial rule without seeing a stormtrooper or hearing a TIE fighter scream overhead..."
- Grand Admiral Thrawn
@@blakemast1445
*continued*
The orbital bombardments that reduced Mandalore, as well as many of her neighbouring worlds, to smouldering, barren wastelands were carried out by the Galactic Republic as a response to Mandalore’s refusal to demilitarise following the Ruusan Reformations.
@@AveTrueToCaesar8212 So you don't like Sabine?
This theme really brings out what the Empire did to Mandalore, all the sadness they felt and all they have been through since Maul's coup. Really one of your best works
The night of a thousand tears
Right. Things really have been sh*t for Mandalore ever since Maul took over, haven't they? With the exceptions of those brief moments when Bo-Katan was in charge, things were just super sh*tty for Mandalore all the way up to the modern day. It's really quite sad.

MARKUZ ZEPEDA The reverse is true for me. I never could get into TCW, but Rebels hit a home run in my view.
Well, I strongly disagree, but that's your opinion.
in my opinion, clone wars had more really good episodes, but i think that the good episodes that rebels did have were the best episodes, like for example, the final episode in rebels was the best episode in all of rebels and clone wars, 2nd has to be the maul on mandalore arc, for me personally

"The truth is... I left to save everyone!"
In this moment, Sabine realized that she did not leave to be a traitor to Mandalore; she left to be its savior.
I wouldnt mind if Boba made an appearance too, but since his status as a Mandalorian is so contested amongst fans that might push some buttons.

man the first few episodes of the last season of rebels where relay depressing.
heck, the entire season was.
@General Freckleface especially after kanan's death. I was crying for weeks.
Yeah, especially since the show was more in the vein of a lighthearted adventure like the first Star Wars was.
R.I.P Gregor
"They ruled us through fear, Mandalore!! Afraid of the weapons I helped create! I HELPED ENSLAVE MY PEOPLE!!!

…But when I did...My family didn't stand with me. They chose the Empire, they left me, gave me no choice. The Empire wanted to destroy worlds...And they did, they destroyed mine!" :'(
Will never forget the first time I watched that scene...still get emotional about it. Each of the Ghost crew has their own powerful story, but I must admit, I hope to see a sequel series to Rebels just to see Sabine and Ahsoka reunite with Ezra.
"The Empire ruled through fear. I intend to rule with respect."
"The empire wanted to destroy Worlds"
"They did"
"They Destroyed Mine"
Such an Emotional and Powerful Line for Sabine
Sabine for a cameo in the Mandalorian! From a cool graffiti artist to a true Mandalorian.
But she's away
She went to find Ezra
@@ArribaElMole They could both show up in the series finale and then Ezra would train The Child and Sabine and Mando would be there to watch over them
Epidemic absolutely NOT. That character is as flat and as boring as cardboard. Let her fade into obscurity where she belongs
Walter Kovacs By that “logic,” Ahsoka is flat and boring as well. Both had tremendous development over the course of their respective shows.
@@Ultimaton100 He probably only watched one season of Rebels. Ignore him. Sabine is loved by the community.
does anyone else think that Sabine staying on Lothal throughout the Galactic Civil War kind of confirms that she had feelings for Ezra? Especially now that we know the Mandalorians got genocided by the Empire during that time. You don't stay on someones homeworld and even stay there instead of fighting for your people for someone you don't care about in that way.
Pretty much. I mean, none of the Ghost crew stayed on Lothal, and even tho Sabine having a responsibility to Mandalore but still staying on Lothal kinda confirms this
Sabine protected Lothal, then when the war was done, she committed herself to finding Ezra. I don't think she realised how she truly felt until Ezra made that sacrifice.

One step closer to Satine, but always Two steps from hell, and i don't get it.
I never got into the Mandalorian thing that grew after the original trilogy, but I give a lot of credit to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau for changing my mind big time.

sabine's theme , emotional, full, emphatizing
mando's theme , headstrong, determined, engaging
in summary, both complement each other so well. sabine's theme shows kindness behind the beskar, and mando's resembles loyalty
Sabine's theme really hits hard for me, she struggles with the darksaber BECAUSE of her internal struggle and I relate deeply with just wanting to connect with her family even though shes seen as a traitor in the eyes of her people she yearns for redemption always trailing 2 steps behind.
when Sabine pulls up with Ahsoka in Mandalorian season 2, This theme better be blasting in the background.
