more of a videogames hot take and not specifically idv but the game should be balance towards rank players rather than competitive players and not vice versa and competitive players who are a 1% of the playerbase should adapt to the game for everyone and not the game adapt to them
im just gonna add that while there is a both man and woman hating issue in the idv community,misandry rly doesn't go beyond words and ragebait while misogyny is systematic,if we just look at it idv community wise they are both quite similar but with the fact that misogyny actually affects women (and men) day to day,seeing the unneccessary hate female characters and creators get while men are praised and favoured def makes it worse imo.
It isnt about which is worse, its just that both shouldnt be a thing in general. Misogyny ofc will always be a wider scale issue, but that doesn't excuse misandry as well/nm
Bro the cipher rush takes are so spot on because the number of times I've had hunters start ranting and complaining in post-game chat about cipher rush after they spent the entire match focusing on the *one* survivor that kites like they're training for COA is crazy.
Also yes idv players have a serious problem with borderline sexual harrassment i dont want to come out a friendly match to have most likely teenagers (and if they arent teenagers thats really fucking bad and creepy) to people telling me they want to f*** me, that one video zeez made when he first got clerk with someone saying something EXTREMELY inappropriate to him made me so uncomfortable and mad, you say that shit to someone irl and your getting a police report filed

I should've been a little more specific, but c'mon guys duo hunters in rank would go crazy (ofc it would be a separate rank mode). Both sides get bans (2 for survivor and 3 for hunter), rank would be a little more interesting, and in game voice chat. If this does come into the game it will prob be optimized for players who are lagging. For instance, disabling and enabling for all survivors/hunters skins only showing regular skins. It will also give less rank points since multiple hunters and survivors are playing.
You guys can add anything else if somethings are not what you hoped.

i agree with the take that no one should be harassed over playing a certain character that has done stuff bad in lore. but when it comes to a character like ripper which is based off of a real serial killer/rapist is when i can understand the hatred, because i do question why people like him as a character to be enjoyed. not to say all ripper players are bad for playing him and deserve to be harassed, its just the problems with ripper goes beyond pixels

If a person never played as hunter in rank / don't often play as hunter in rank I get why they'd be anxious !! You have more pressure when you play as a hunter imo, that's because when you play as a survivor you aren't always chased and the mistakes you make do not always lead to a loss because the other survivors can save the game. While as hunter you're just one person and personally I think the mistakes hunters make are harder to fix than the mistakes survivors make. So yeah I understand being anxious, especially if you play rank with the intention of winning ( I think that most people want to win in rank, but personally I sometimes play rank as hunter to practice so I can find people that play seriously). I understand if the person that wrote the comment doesn't understand why someone could be anxious over a game, but telling them to touch grass feels like you're telling someone that they're chronically online for feeling anxious

Misandry does exist, you can not say it doesnt exist just because it doesnt have a global scale affect. Misogyny will always be on a wider scale, thats a given but misandry is 100% real.

Someone in the comments made a joke about why the takes aren't actually hot and gave an example saying "Mind's Eye is S Tier" and that alone speaks volumes about how bad this character is. On top of the fact that she's viewed as a troll pick in ranked 💀 I promise you Mind's Eye, Mechanic or any other bad character being adjusted to be viable will not suddenly make people not play or spend money on new characters. You saying "they don't gotta come back" just makes me think you don't like Mind's Eye and Mechanic and don't want them back to which you're entitled to your opinion but it's really fucking selfish 🤷♀️

About the double standards when it comes to survs, I think it's more of a "pretty privilege" then misogyny, characters like Kurt, Servais, Freddy, Emily and Kreacher are demonized when Naib, Vera, Aesop, JACK THE FUCKING RIPPER exist like come on! Most players I've seen are women which makes sense why they would like the men more. I haven't seen many guys other then my friends.
