I love my Boss Katana 110 and I use it at small to medium size gigs as part of my small stage monitor rig. I run my passive jazz bass into my Ken Smith P.A.P.A. outboard preamp, then into the Boss and out into the band's PA. The combination sounds great, and I rarely use any effects. I've owned all sorts of small/medium stage rigs, including the 210 version and great small combos such as the AER Amp Two, but the Katana 110 is very satisfying at a ridiculously low price compared to most of the other equipment I've lugged around. I highly recommend the 110 to players who want a very small, solid bass combo amp with sonic flexibility. If you can handle the extra weight, the 210 is exponentially better and reasonably priced, but it's hefty for its size and a bit of a pain to lug around to small gigs. The A/B power sounds better to me than other small combos in its price range or a little higher. The 110 is currently going for $299 so you can't go wrong! :)

Except that the Darkglass head is 500 watts. Still Boss knows that they will sell a ton of these, so they can bring down the costs through economies of scale. Darkglass is, relatively speaking, more of a boutique builder.

What's a hard sell for me on these modeling amps is that you can get a basic amp (like a Rumble 40) and a Zoom B1x Four for less money, and then your effects aren't locked to the amp. This Boss amp seems to have a lot of features for the kind of person who does more home recording than gigging for sure. But at the same time, an audio interface and some plugins will be cheaper and less cumbersome. Man, I'm just not sure about anything...
The Rumble 40 and B1x Four will be of relative price the Bass Katana. If you don't have cables to connect the B1X (Four) and Rumble together you could be paying more for arguably less.

This is perfect for my needs. Will effectively replace my Line 6 POD Go and Markbass 210 combo for home practice and recording. Will save me a bunch of $$$ too. Also, 16kg is a bit hefty for a 1x10” combo but I do understand it is class AB and not D.
Well the guitar version isn't that good, especially the Katana 50 which really lacks bass response. Maybe the Boss Katana Bass amp might make an okay guitar amp.
@Far Stox Not kidding at all. The Katana's sound is very thin, hardly any bass response and just doesn't have the presence that a good amp has. Compare it to the Fender Mustang VIII and it comes off as a piece of trash.
Cool amp. Fender stage 800 combo Is what I have. So I don’t think I’ll ever buy another amp that has digital modulation because I have everything I need. Great to live in a time where you can have all these wonderful features and they don’t sound like garbage.
It seems to be a cool amp, but 400€ for 60w isn't exactly a steal. I liked the Katana guitar amp because it was small, leight weight but loud to easily compete with drums. Even the 50w version. 60w for bass won't cut it tho.
don't let the 60 watts fool you i felt the same way until i tried it smoked all the higher powered combos in the store and that's just the 110 A/B versus D - worth some research i'm grabbing one today

I think that is better suited for the Katana 210. I got the Katana 110 last year, the volume knob is set at 10 or 11 o'clock to keep up with 2 fairly loud 15W tube amps. It definitely can go louder, which I find surprising because on paper it is only 60W. Previously I had GK MB110 that is 100W solid state combo, and it sounded small when played with the same tube guitar amps. I had the volume knob set way past 2 o'clock for it to be audible.

Did anybody tried this Combo with a doublebass and a passive pickup? I'm looking for a second small combo, good enough for small rehearsals and gigs. At the moment I'm using a Roland Bass Cube.

Bought the 110 model. The EFX1 button doesn't work at all. I don't think I am missing any steps when turning it on. The EFX2 button works as expected. Pretty disappointed with quality control on this new product.

Sorry but I'm not buying into the many gimmicks. It just doesn't sound good as a bass amp. It's an amazing toy but it's just a toy. If you used it on stage it would be drowned out by any guitar amp as it is not particularly low in extension and it's fundamental EQ q is in the guitars octave 110hz. When you are on stage you would find this a bedroom toy.

If the sound out of the little practice, lightweight, can is not great you should have run a speaker line out to a nice cab to see what that sounded like. Would have liked to hear the opinion.

This looks to be 3 times more capable than the Darkglass multi-effects head at about a 3rd of the price.
Except that the Darkglass head is 500 watts. Still Boss knows that they will sell a ton of these, so they can bring down the costs through economies of scale. Darkglass is, relatively speaking, more of a boutique builder.

is that true the looper effect on the Zoom B1x Four can't save loops?

Keep yr butt warm in winter setting, I use hifi amps and car spekarz with input controle pfffnaaaice but no presets

The Katana 112 weighs close to 26 lbs., but is only 50 watts. My Rumble 112 is 100 watts, and weighs 18 lbs. Why the rather large disparity?

Yes it’s A/B power so twice as powerful as the digital amps, it will be as powerful as the rumble 500. I know this because I’ve got both of them
