What if the single mom doesn’t have support and has not found a work from home job?

That is a great question Krystal! I ask my mom (a great homeschool expert) about this concern, and here is what she said,
"This is when you really have to get creative. Churches and community offer different options. Another option for a mom determined that her children have a education away from the government schools can choose an offer like Prenda schools. www.prenda.com/
Prenda is something like a one-room School house and a teacher called a guide goes through three different aspects of learning. Skills in math and English are taught at the child’s level but then there are group activities and field trips. There is a limit of 10 children per Prenda school. It is usually held in the home of the Prenda guide. The best part is that this is absolutely free. It comes under the charter system so the teacher is paid per student as if they were in a charter school. This might be an option check out their website."
I hope this was helpful Krystal, I do understand that some single parents are going to have more challenges than others. But, there is a lot of options out there. Please reach out if you have other questions. Hope your week is going well!

It is important to get support when you are a single parent or both parents work. It can be done! You just have to be creative.

I am glad to hear that J Rodriguez! I know that there are much more challenges that come into homeschooling when you are a single parent, but it is do-able! Please reach out if you have any questions. Thank you so much for watching 💜

What curriculum did your mom use? What is good curriculum choices for the working mom?

    • @walkswithholly4610

She always used a variety of curriculum (from different companies, never stuck with one curriculum for everything) - similar to what I do. I highly recommend Saxon Math - it works great for the kids doing it on their own. I do try and stick with curriculum that my kids can do on their own. Once they learn to read they really can do so much self learning (they will of course need some help and assisting at times). If you are interested to see what our curriculum choices are for grades K-6th, here is what we use: th-cam.com/play/PLO4ci3GjNWlOSzsNlKX3_bU6w8n0kZjEd.html
