I still cry whenever his music is played, I think LP had been such a fundamental figure in my life during some brutal times that it's hard to believe that he could leave like that when his music had saved me. Damn ! It has been a while since I had goosebumps, and this is one of those moments. Easier To Run was always one of my favorite song by Linkin Park, it has this little something that affects me every single time I listen to it, and your cover does it too. I don't know if it is because I regret the fact that I was blasting music while sleeping and didn't hear my father collapse to the ground less than 10 feet away from where I was sleeping and that he lost his battle to hemodialysis, asking me multiple times to take care of my mother and to literally kill him as he couldn't handle all of this energy drain that hemodialysis is, or if it is because I lost my mother suddenly 13 days after her birthday this year in an moment, in my arms, to a heart attack... and that I regret not being a better son to the both of them..... I lost my dad in 2011, and I felt like I was stuck with a promise I had done just before he passed, to always take care of my mother and protect her, and this April, I couldn't respect that promise and bring her back to life or react quickly enough, and now, I feel stuck with the same promise I made to my mother, to always be there for my uncle who needs it and that almost passed away on an hospital bed to a heart surgery last year, and who was my mother's favorite sibling, but nonetheless, this song has always given me goosebumps, like many other Linkin Park songs, and your cover has managed to make me go down on my knees and cry.
