Hey everyone! Join me as I finish my journey of Gravity Falls! This series finale was amazing and I loved every second that this show offered me! The ending made me really emotional!
Twins Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle, Grunkle Stan, in the mysterious town of Gravity Falls, Ore. Grunkle Stan has the kids help him run The Mystery Shack, the tourist trap that he owns. The twins try to adapt to the weird surroundings but sense there is something strange about Gravity Falls and begin to unlock its secrets. When Dipper uncovers a cryptic journal that offers insight into the town's mysteries, he and Mabel use it and their enthusiastic desire to vanquish evil to battle the imminent mysteries that surround them.

Here's a fun fact, after the end of the show Alex Hirsch created a real life statue of bill cipher and hid it somewhere in the forest, which led to a treasure hunt for the fans to find it which even involved going to different places of the world to find clues and puzzles.
He put it at the location the Mystery Shack is in the show. They moved it to the real life place the Mystery Shack is based on a few years ago.
It's crazy; Russia was a country he went to as well, and Alex said Bill Cipher was smiling down on him that day, since nothing bad happened to him; I mean, a foreigner sneaking around leaving bits of paper in secluded areas would be, shall we say, questioned in that country and he dodged that bullet lol.

I remember being updated and watching people solve it since I couldn’t participate myself. Ah good times…
Dipper hates Dippy Fresh so much that in a deleted scene, this happens:
DF: “Your hat is on backwards!”
Dipper: “Your head is on backwards!”
Then he *snaps his neck.* That’s not a joke.

U know what’s funny? When Ford and Stan were bickering at the most impt moment, only for a giant Bill to appear, it reminded me of Mable and Dipper when they bickered and a giant Gideon appeared.
Funny how parallels work lol. In both cases the smart kid was starting shit out of a need to be right and the more artsy twin refused to let it go.
Gideon said the same thing that Bill said too. "You almost got away with it if it wasn't for your sibling bickering".

Its amazing how if Dipper never found that journal, Grunkle Stan probably would have never reunited with his brother at all.

THe same if Gideon hadn't become obsessed with Mabel. THen Stan would have no reason to interact with Gideon and wouldn't have known he had journal 2.
I have a slight feeling that the two cops is a way of Alex Hirsch (creator of Gravity Falls) giving Disney the middle finger. Because he has stated multiple times on Twitter that Disney outright banned him from making LGBTQ+ characters.
The creator did wanted to stop at two cause he knew if he kept going the show would be ruined. So I'm glad the finale was beautifully well done and known to be a really awesome cartoon to recommend to anyone

Now that you’re done with this show, I recommend watching Amphibia or the owl house. They were both made by people who originally worked on gravity falls and they’re both really good

Same, Amphibia and The Owl House ARE spiritual successors to Gravity Falls, in every way possible. And I love them for that. But also the things that make them unique. Cody, you will thoroughly enjoy both of these shows. They are masterpieces.

it’s honestly one of the best finales I’ve watched on tv, at least in my opinion, along with the finales for The Good Place and Breaking Bad, wrapping up a show is SO tricky but gravity falls did it so well :)
OMG The Good Place has a FLAWLESS finale! The ONLY other show I feel deserves the same recognition as of now is Gravity Falls.
I knew Pacifica’s dad had it coming but that was quite a shocker! Never thought it would be Bill that would give him his comeuppance.

Combining “Dipper and Mabel vs the future” and “Weirdmegaddon” woulda made a good Movie based on Gravity falls.

Stuff i realized after watching Gravity Falls (some of these i found out in the Journal 3 book):
Mabel drew a picture of the Waffle guards in episode 3 of season 1.
GIFfany is still alive. She's in the Fight Fighters game trying to date Rumble.
The Journals were restored after Bill was defeated.
2 of the Dipper clones (3 and 4) are hiding out in the woods.
In a deleted scene, Dipper was supposed to snap Dippy Fresh's neck and kill him.
Stan took a dinosaur egg after the group's dinosaur adventure and it hatched into a velociraptor. It started stealing from people and they had to get rid of it.
It was a compsognathus not a velociraptor

Fun fact: the monster at the mall that was just a head with an arm was originally voiced by Louie C.K., but after he got in some legal trouble, Alex Hirsch re-dubbed his lines.
Which given what he did and what lines he was given to say, it was absolutely the right call (even though I begrudgingly admit his delivery was better)
When Dipper and Wendy go through the "Live Action" bubble, the two that appear are the actual voice actors for Dipper and Wendy. I'm glad you watched this show. It's a great one!

I also suggest buying the “Journal #3” in the merch store. I wouldn’t normally suggest this if I didn’t know there was something heart-touching on the last page. It’s something I suggest reading for yourself. There are still more tears to be had
Yeah it was an amazing ending. One thing that used to through me off was how Pacifica seemed to regress some off screen. But now I see they were trying to be realistic people can't change completely over night but she showed several signs that she is still moving in the right direction most obviously becuase she tried to stand up to her parents when they tried to join Bill despite how scared she must have been going against Bill. However, something that had to be pointed out to me is that if you look very close at the 1st presents Dipper and Mabel opened it was a golf club for Mabel representing the progress they made in the mini golf episode and a ghost video for Dipper repesenting the angry spirit episode. Old habits are hard to break but it seems she is on the right path to doing it.
I may’ve gotten into Gravity Falls a lot later than most, but when I finally decided to watch it, I realized how much I missed out. It was one of the best shows I ever watched(Top 10 Phenomenal). And if it weren’t for Avatar: The Last Airbender’s finale, the Gravity Falls finale would be the best finale in animation history. Props to Alex Hirsch and the rest of the Gravity Falls crew. And thank you Cody for reacting to it. One of the best things ever to happen to your channel. Bravo.
I'm sad that in the future we are left with a hint of a sequel, although the ending itself is quite touching and it seemed that the animated series was completed.
There was susposed be a scene where Dipper snaps Dippy Fresh’s neck which I want to see
One attention to detail I really love is that Stan’s mind is still white from the last time Bill entered his mind

Cody, you should do Between the Pines! It’s a short special that the creator, Alex Hirsch, did on the series explaining all the irl inspirations behind everything like his real like grandfather Stan, his twin sister, etc. Oh, and also all the mysteries and hidden codes across the series! Or just watch it on your own! But I really recommend it either way :)
Wendy’s actress also played Velma in the Scooby Doo movie.
Also they did a real life puzzle hunt for the statue and was really interesting, think there are a few videos on it
The fact that this last episode makes me still ball my eyes out even after all those years, really speaks for itself.

I absolutely love the Bill “We’ll meet again” song. Me and my best friend sing this song at random times. We’re full gravity falls fans. We still sing that song to this day for random

Since you loved this show so much, once you've got an open slot available in your schedule (you seem to have a lot on your plate at the moment lol), I recommend watching Amphibia and The Owl House. Both are considered spiritual successors to Gravity Falls, and with good reason; not only do you have that sweet, sweet plot and mystery element Gravity Falls is known for, but also its iconic humor as well, AND, get this, both shows are made by people who used to be ON the Gravity Falls staff.
They're amazing shows, to say the least, and you'll most likely fall in love with them :)

It was recently the 10 year anniversary of Gravity Falls premiering on Disney Channel. How has it been 10 years already? I was in high school as a Junior! Watching the Owl House helped relieve a bit of the sadness of the show being over though.
You are extremely lucky being able to see all of these back to back for your first viewing.
For those of us who watched the show as it came out, we had to wait weeks to even months for updates on this show. It was such a good show it was worth the wait but it was still agonizing having to wait. I hope you enjoyed this masterpiece of a show and I would love to see you react to two shows very similar in style and even having references to this show-The Owl House which was created by Alex Hirsch (this show’s creator)’s girlfriend (though I’ve heard they’ve broken up) and Alex even voices some great characters in the show too.
The other one is Amphibia which literally has a Gravity Falls parody-like episode and it’s very good. Anyway hope you react to those shows and enjoyed this one.
yeah but the wait for the episodes was filled with trying to crack all the codes and making theories, i'd take that over binge watching any day.

The final episode two gravity Falls was the most amazing finale to the series, heartbreaking teardrop and most importantly family. I really enjoy that you enjoyed it, once in a while I suggest you receive some of the videos because you get to see the better parts of it more clearly and you have more fun. They sure do pack the feels in that finale. It feels kinda crazy to say but I just recently had a similar experience watching the finale to Amphibia. I believe I read already that you have no plans to do that show as a reaction and I highly doubt this would change your mind, but for a show I told everybody was on the lighter and sillier side, I will absolutely admit to shedding some tears in the final episode.
well it's later written in the real life, actually sold 3rd Journey that since he's brain was just erased, Stan's memories could be jogged back into him in a set amount of time. the memories are there, they're just... blocked by a fog and he was seeing more and more as he remembers stuff.

I haven't watched gravity falls since I was a kid, it was really nice to rewatch it with you. Forgot how much I liked this show
This is why I love reaction channels who stick to a show till the end. You can never relive the moment of seeing it for the first time but it really feels like it when someone you enjoy watches it unfold Infront of your eyes.
Love this show. I thank God these creators did not over extend the program past 2 seasons just because it's popular. (although my heart does secretly want more) It was written perfectly well with its beginning, middle, and end.
Great job on finishing this wonderful series man. Would you be interested in eventually reacting to DuckTales 2017, Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, or Welcome to the Wayne pilots + show? They would definitely be solid replacements for Gravity Falls.

Fun fact: Stan and Bill are both played by Alex Hirsch who created the show. I guess you could take the climax as Alex confronting his own inner demons.
Bro the ending gets me every time. Also flashback for all of the Hot Wheels fans, but I would recommend the hot wheels movies released for the 35th and the 37th anniversary. Its not all about the racing is all I have to say.

When I watched the second season of gravity falls it was so good and funny and the last episode made me cry so much and I loved every minute of every episode

Gravity falls is a great show because of its story telling, character development, and it’s humor. Really this show is amazing and I’m glad you got to see it Cody. However while I know you said you are watching Moonknight when this show was done I recommend you try Amphibia and Owl House when you get a chance. I know you don’t do suggestions but these 2 shows have the same amount of humor and character development like Gravity falls but also tell their own stories and both of them will probably be shows that you will find just as amazing as gravity falls. Like I said I know you don’t suggestions so I will wait for the day that you do those 2 shows naturally
loved watching your reaction to this series! also, if you enjoyed gravity falls, might i recommend another disney cartoon, the owl house? it just finished its second season so this hiatus is a good time to get caught up! alex hirsch (GF creator and voice of grunkle stan, bill, ect) is a creative consultant and voices one of the main characters, king. the show has great gravity falls vibes but goes even deeper with a magic/fantasy setting, surprisingly dark twists, and even managed to get some major LBGT+ representation! (though it cost them a shortened third season because disney chickened out on them). anyway love the channel, hope to see more animated series from you soon!
If your into foreshadowing, they put a lot of it in the show for the finale and Weirdmaggedeon and Stan twin reveal. Such as Mabel being upset during summerween and she said they were getting older and there's not many Halloweens left. And Gideon shrinking Mabel and Dipper, saying the same thing Bill did to the Older twins, "You almost got away with it if it wasn't for your sibling bickering". Stan packing brown meat food for the apocalypse when Dipper was trying to reveal Robbie's mind control cd, it looked like a joke but he really was preparing for the end of the world and told us straight up. Stan not knowing what the secret rooms were and finding his brothers glasses. There's so much and I love it. Definitely worth rewatching and I'm still learning more about the show to this day.

im so glad you reacted to this series Cody it was incredibly fun :) if i understood what you said correctly you haven't yet started moon knight. i just hope you have/will look up some information on DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) because it's really important to the series and i've seen some channels being really rude towards people with this disorder without meaning to. as always much love

One of the only times Bill actually came through on one of his deals. He told Mabel he could give her a bubble where summer never ends. He wasn't lying.

In case you didn’t know this Cody wich I didn’t until 2 or 3 days ago that the director or co dir3ctor or maybe it was co producer of the angry birds movie is the voice actor who plays Gideon also in the first movie Anthony and Ian from Smosh are in the movie aswell
