the greatest introduction to j-hope is his lollapalooza performance. he’s insanely talented and that performance showcases his amazing songs, rapping and singing skills, stage presence and dancing. the video id long but worth every second. plus times flies when seeing j-hope perform.
J-Hope started as a street dancer at 10 yrs old. He joined a street dance crew called " NEURON". He just released a new album called "HOPE on the Street". The song NEURON is one of the tracks and it's awesome. The whole album is a total vibe 🔥. Enjoy getting to know J-Hope's music and talent. 💜

That's what makes these guys so amazing, they have so many different sounds and cover so many different genre's. No matter what you're in the mood for, BTS has something for everyone. That's because J Cole is J Hope Muse and he wanted to give the most bars to J Cole out of pure respect. J Hope will always give more room to another artist when he invites them onto his work. That's his way of showing respect.
If you want to only hear J Hope you need his previous albums Hope world and Jack In The Box and his work in BTS when it's it's just the 3 Rappers.
J Cole is J-Hope's idol. He gave a large part to J Cole out of respect. J-Hope has a solo version of that song (On The Street) without J Cole in it.
Honestly that's not even a glimpse of JHOPE's immense talent.
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned "Boy Meets Evil" or "Mama" from the BTS catalogue. Those are two of Hobi's solo tracks within the group and I think they're amazing.

Unless Big Hit drops some visualizers, the only official MV is for Neuron. Don't miss it. There are 2 features on the track- both OGs of Korean hip hop. The whole mini album is super-danceable, which is the point of the whole project. It complements Jhope's docuseries, which is all about revisiting his roots in street dance. The tracks are keyed to dance genres- e.g. popping, locking, house.
As for getting to know Jhope, I think you have yet to see his 2022 Lollapalooza set. Even if you watch only the first half, you will come away with a great sense of the artist.
I recommend you watch Lalapalooza aka Hobipalooza…..you’ll get a wide variety of J Hope’s music. JHope is a natural performer who takes pride in his music. Lalapalooza is where JHope and JCole met. I can’t wait to see your reaction.

Yoongi (Suga) raps with emotion. He's aggressive and passionate and doesnt hold back. He makes the beats.

3 very different styles that just work together. They are very respectful of one another.

I don’t know what happened to my comment. For some reason it didn’t post. Anyways, the reason J.Cole had more lyrics in J-Hope’s song is because J-Hope respects J.Cole. He is his idol. When J-Hope was a street dancer he would dance to J.Cole’s music. So in the “J-Hope on the street” mv while J.Cole was rapping J-Hope was dancing. That was on purpose. If you want to know who is J-Hope I recommend you to watch his docuseries that is being released on Prime Video. His roots are on the street as a street dancer who danced listening to JCole, that's why the video you watched first was almost JCole's.
This video is fanmade. The only MV of his last album is Neuron, it's a banger! In fact, the whole album is! His dancing-singing version.
By the way, this is not an "Official MV" it's a fanmade one. Elissa is a great ARMY that does decent videos. She did good on this one. You could have had the subtitles, because she does include those on her videos. I love his whole album. NEURON and LOCK/UNLOCK are my favorites. I suggest watching the original music video to NEURON to get the artistic view and subtitles. But I LOVE the actual visualizer better than the video, because it has J-Hope freestyle dancing, and that is what his album and the docu-series is about, his dance journey. And the album is actually his OST (original sound track) to the docu-series. The only thing I didn't like was that it doesn't have subtitles. This album is a soundtrack for the docuseries that is currently streaming on Prime Video. Each song represents a different style of dance that Jhope did pre debut as a street dancer. He wanted to get back to his roots. This is the same reason he gave JCole as many bars as he did for Hope on the Street. It was intentional. Jhope wanted to show off his dancing skills while his idol JCole rapped.

BTS with JCole’s permission rewrote his song Born Sinner to Born Singer. They have paid tribute to JCole and many other Rappers and Hip Hop artists they admire and respect since they debuted in 2013.
They actually went to the US and worked with Coolio, Warren B and others via a show called American Hustle Life to learn and appreciate the roots of Hip Hop. A lot of the lessons they learned back then they still live by today. No other KPop group has ever immersed themselves into the hip hop and rap genres by actually learning from those that invented the music. 🤗
I'm sorry but I totally disagree because having heard Hobi version of the song....J Cole well Hobi was being Hobi respectful because he thinks greatly of his Idol. Thanks for the review!. J Cole is j-hope's inspiration. He sent in his part to j-hope and j-hope said he didn't want to touch a thing. He handed that right over to him out of deep respect and admiration. Of course J Cole would shine as he is fire in my opinion on anything he does. You might need to explore j-hope a little more. He does a little bit of everything but loves old school hip hop vibes. This is jhope's album to match his docuseries hope on the street as his origins are in street dance.
oh and I should say all the tracks on the album are good. More and Arson are two you should see. He did a whole set at Lolla where he met J Cole so any of those are good to see.

I'm not an army, I'm not a kpop listener but I felt for Ho-Seok after I've seen this performance and I still listen to his album every day.
Jack in the box is a album concept where a story is developped all along, I have hard Time chosing one. I love them all. The album last for only 22 minutes. Which is criminal !
So for a great expérience of J-Hope I highly recommand lolapalooza !
As for HOTS my favorite are Lock Unlock, NEURON and it took me sometimes to be honest but I finaly felt hard for What if dance version.

If you listen to HIp Hop track by BTS, J-Hope shouted out J Cole as one of the rappers he looked up to, he his idol. J-Hope always allow any artist he works with more time in his videos. They are more than just features on his songs.
That is the problem with artist over here. They don't give respect to each other. J-Hope gave J Cole enough respect to allow him to do him. People want to down play J-Hope who has earned his place, dancing and studying Hip Hop since 10 years old. Give J-Hope his much earned credit. J-hope's songs are fire. This man is really versatile when it comes to changing the flow of his rap a lot of times in one song and also as an artist. His discography is pretty diverse. I recommend you to listen to MORE, EQUAL SIGN, EGO, ARSON, LOCK / UNLOCK, CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP, STOP, BASE LINE, HANGSANG.. honestly, all of their songs are fire so i find it hard to recommend just a few and also bc i don't know what kind of music you like more. But, If you like old hip hop and rock you may like his album Jack In the box since it has a lof of these elements but also all their songs have hip hop in some way and also funky and pop tracks as well (it would be great if you read the lyrics too bc when it comes to BTS most of the time the lyrics are really meaningful or deep)

In the last two years or so, so many famous mainstream artists want to collab with BTS because of the amount of attention BTS will bring them, and the money and hits it will bring. Now that BTS is so famous, the group or individual members always have famous artists wanting to collab with them. The tables have turned around because artists have finally been convinced of the enormous scope of their talent. They aren't just pretty faces. Go watch some documentary to see the difficult and humble roots of BTS, and watch the group and solo videos; only then will you be blown away by their talent like so many TH-cam responders have. Don't sleep on J-Hope. Out of all 7 BTS members who did solo, I love him the most. Coz I love his style, he's more into rap, hip hop, dance etc. He's creative and best dance leader of BTS.

The issue I have is that JHope became famous after this song. Yeah, some JCole fans watched/listened to the song and we are happy about it.
