Absolutely. Watching trains crash into each other and try to avoid it next time is the main drive of train games.
This isn’t a puzzle game. It’s more like a strategy game where the challenge is money, demand, and time management. Comparing this to other train puzzle games like Railbound is a bit ignorant.

OpenTTD graphically is very different but feature-wise feels more complete than this game since trains can't just no-clip through each other and you actually have to setup a good rail network
train valley 2 also seems to be more "feature complete", although its debatable whether to consider it more feature complete or simply a different feature set, esp for openTTD which is very very different mechanically and only really shares the part of having trains
Yes, just this. Seems like openTTD but exclusively about trains while also making them a lot more forgiving for some reason.
I think this is more of a puzzle game compared to OpenTTD, which is mainly about becoming filthy rich by playing the market. They are just completely different genres. With the only link being: Trains exist.
@@Sopsy_Hallow The problem with TV2 is you have to manually switch rails constantly. There is no logic as YOU are the logic of the train network. Want to avoid trains from crashing, YOU have to go flip the switch on the rails. Great game, but annoying feature which makes it only a puzzle game and not really a 'train' game per say.
I'd compare this more with something like Railway Empire. Only trains and more focused goals, like this, but the business side and the logistics are more complicated than this.

The ENTIRE POINT of a train game is track management so trains doesn't drive on top of each other. Is that really to much complication to ask for?
Exactly, I was disappointed to find this is basically just a "truck" game. Or a horse wagon game I guess, given the time period.

I'm going to agree with everyone else who thinks the game is too high level - a train game that has no use of sidings doesn't feel like a train game.
It can work, but it needs more depth in other areas, such as the business side. Railroad Tycoon 3 comes to mind as a game where trains pass through each other, but there's enough else going on that it's still fun.

Unfortunately, does not look that interesting. There is no satisfying mind-bending aspect like the other games usually played on this channel.
This is the third instalment of this series, the first two being Train Valley and Train Valley 2. They are more of a puzzle game than a train game. It unfortunate that they've removed train collision, as that was a pretty big part of managing your trains in TV2. If I had to guess, I'd assume there is a challenge mode in TVW which reintroduces it.

If I'd recommend a Tycoon style game, I'd recommend one that has firm objectives, like Railway Empire, Railroad Tycoon 3, or Chris Sawyer's Locomotion. (Chris also being the creator of the original TTD)

I found 4 out of 5 codes. All used up. Bet the last one is too. It is near the buy locomotive at 1:04 ; on the top of the yellow train line (its really dark) at 5:33 ; top left when out of lights joke at 8:48 and the 1889 quest at 10:17 ; Anyone found the last one?

this makes me REALLY want to see you play Rail Route. I don't actually remember off the bat whether you played it already or not, but it's a train micro-management game so I think it'd be right up your alley lol

Check openTTD out. It's free, occupies basically no space on your pc, is not just about trains and is a sandbox

Watching this suddenly made me think of the Steamworld series, and Steamworld Build in particular. Has Tyler ever dabbled in the series? Build seems like one he'd dominate pretty handily, considering it's a townbuilder-style of game.

So... Its essentially Deckelevens railroads 2, but much simplified. Its not bad but i prefer all the headaches with the traffic being forced through a single entrance without dying

So the trains don't crash and can just drive through each other? So disappointed. Was looking forward to this one until now. Now I guess there is no hurry and I can wait a year or so to grab this puzzle game for 50%+ off. Would have paid full price if it were an actual train game.
Looks like a modern, arcade-ish Railroad Tycoon. That's an old but awesome game you should check out.
This just seems like every FTP game I used to have on my phone 10 years ago but with extra steps. All the other train games are actually interesting but this one seems like a buyout. No hate on that but I won't be watching any more of these.

I'm deleting this game from my wishlist, it has more features but it seems that it's less challenging and fun than the Train Valley 2 and 1
There is a more realistic train simulator, this game looks like a copy of that game. The name of the game is railway empire i found it on epic it was very fun.

That looks pretty cool. Perhaps a little slow on the updates, given it's still early access after more than 5 years, but it's definitely something I will give a closer look.
