Firstly, amazing haul as always. And thank you for letting me do those for you, It was my pleasure and way to give back for all of the great content you've supplied us with.
The cut-corner (sometimes they used a hole punch too) means that it was an unsold album that was returned to the distributor. They cut the corner, and then sent it to another retailer at a severely discounted price.
Deep cut on “whatever happened to wonder dog”. Wow. I love stuff like this, so very cool. Many thanks for that bit of amazing trivia. Love your channel and keep on hunting amigo!🎉❤
Great show Mike. You have great, generous friends. Love the Superman album. Reminds of a record I had many moons ago by the Mighty Groundhogs, that was a gatefold full Of Neal Adams art. It was beautiful. Kurt Schaffenberger's art was always so clean and accomplished, his women were always very pretty. Keep up the good work sir. Looking forward to the next one.
Great video Mike ! Love the comics After I saw you get a copy of The Rocketeer 5 Part collection I had to get on and I did for not a bad price less than $20
Wow! So many awesome finds and gets!! Glad you were able to get that ASM 194! Saw you mention it on a previous video. Looks like a nice copy! Better than my newsstand one. Being a Spidey fan, i love that ASM 23! I bet your sister loved the Jean Grey items! All that artwork is amazing!! Need to head down to His and Hers for some good deals! Go Bruins!!
Hey sir! Great show, and great haul. Just a heads up, because you asked, that the cut at the top of the Superman record means that it was a promo copy. That’s what they used to do to records when they were sent to stores for play copies. Cheers!
You're going to LOVE Usagi Yojimbo! It's so dang good. It's had the same writer and artist for 40 years now, so it never loses its vision. Stan Sakai is one of the best to ever do it!
Hi Mike, nice to see the ACG Forbidden Worlds Magicman ‘atomic’ cover for a change. Haven’t heard the exclamation ‘curtains’ for ages, probably since 1966 🤣
Awesome Pickups! I really love the Usagi Yojimbo series. It's a pretty easy series to get into. It's has alot if stand alone stories. But if you want to start from the beginning I recommend the Fantagraphics run then read mirage and darkhorse runs.
@@lunchmoneycomics no problem my dude I randomly found your channel and love watching your comic videos keep up the awesome work. Watching your videos mande me want to collect & read comics again.
(I hit the comic jackpot today) Found your channel today, and it inspired me to find my own lunch money comics. I went to a local pawn shop and asked them if they had comics. They guy pulled out a silver and gold age comic box that had comics with no cover or were in bad shape. But what I did find was a Batman #181 in about a 5.0 condition with the poster still in the comic for $20. I just got a $800-$900 comic for $20 bucks. Score!
Mike, you ahve SO many books up there on your Wonder Wall... Keep looking at that SPOTLIGHT 5 !!! Always wanted to fill in all of the Ploog GRs.... Last time I looked it up it was $8000 for a damaged return ( 3/4 cover!! YEESH!! I picked up GR # 11 which reprints that tale.... We'll see...!!
I love that you got 25 cent comics from a comic shop then when you go see unbagged 90s books in a collection they want $3 each :) from someone who had it next to their water heater for 40 years.
I think the corner clip from your record might be the same type of thing they do for dvd's and blu-rays when they punch a hole through the upc code. It's done when the studio's / companies send out copies for review or for contest winners as well. Or it could be surplus inventory clipped and sent back to the company for credit.
Stop influencing people to buy up my forbidden worlds and driving up the price. JK, much love brother and great books. Hopefully they came with an extra blanket...and I truly appreciate your kind gesture with the FF86!
Usagi is great. I started with issue #1 from the first series. Had to go back and read the Albedo/Critters stories. Now is probably my favorite. Have really been thinking of trying to trade some of my Marvel/DC stuff to get Albedo 2 but... don't really know many people or places to look for trades. :\ Cool books!
Records or CDs that have a "nick" were given to the stores for free as a promotional item. The distributor gives it to the stores for free in hopes that they would play it in the store to promote sales of said item. I used to manage a CD store and we would get those on a weekly basis to coincide with many new releases.
I got a chance to meet Andy the other day wicked good guy. He was having a tag sale and I was able to buy a batman 388 awesome joker cover from him for a great price. He mentioned you and the channel we had a great conversation
Great video mike! I was actually scrolling through chef.grundy’s page a while ago, and I saw your comment claiming the asm 194! I was waiting for you to show it on the channel!

When I watch your channel and others I see all those books that are worth like nothing I wonder how do they ever sell all of them even if they’re like 10 cents a piece? There’s just so many of them, it must take a decade. Is it really worth your time and effort? I can’t understand it. I get it sometimes people just want a cheap little comic book and read it and have fun, but I don’t get it. I understand some cheap books because the cover looks cool. But most of them are worth nothing and how do you sell them? I don’t have a big collection maybe 250 or so books I don’t know. And most of them I bought a cover price the early 90s to mid. Most of them are not worth anything, but I like some of the covers so they’re cool in that aspect.
