Girl you get me so excited. I’m about to be a sophomore in college (I’m an SLP major). I’m going to get my certification after I get my bachelors degree then eventually get my masters! Thank you thank you thank you for theses videos.
Hi Elisa, During my undergrad, I worked with Dr. Xigrid Soto who (in my eyes) is the bilingual SLP queen. She made a website that offers parents, SLPs and teachers a variety of resources/carry over skills to encourage bilingualism and language development at home and in the classroom/clinic! www.habladll.org/ Also, when I look for specific goals within TPT, I type in "bilingual" and there's SO MANY to pick from. www.teacherspayteachers.com/Browse/Search:bilingual%20
I have not gotten the chance to work with kiddos 3 and older. As a SLPA does the SLP tell you what sounds to work on when it comes to articulation? I know that they do write out the goals for you. Sorry for my lame Q 😣
I’m not the creator of the video, but I 100% think you should intern somewhere. It helped me decide this is what I want. I’d also recommend taking some SLP classes or education classes along with your psychology! I’m majoring in SLP and minoring in psychology 🥰

I'm thinking about becoming an slp but I'm majoring in psychology. Do you recommend me interning first to see if I like it ?

I'm nervous because I'm a dental hygienist studying to be a SLPA
oh wow that's definitely different but you'll be working with clients/patients so it's good practice to have before starting your SLP journey!
