I've always thought of the Fit as the second coming of the old Civic hatchbacks. Glad to see some more eyes on this platform.
Same here! The fit is made with the same things in mind as the original civics were! Not a lot of power but handles great and gets amazing gas mileage all while having room to pick stuff up with (which the fit does 10x better than any civic does) it really is one of the best daily drivers vehicles out in the market to date. See this thing at my work go well over 200k with only basic maintenance work being done. The L15 doesn't have a lot of power but is probably the most reliable engine I've ever seen
I wish honda kept selling the fit in the US. The new fit is really nice too.
@@ericmess8261987 I've seen some pictures and I am incredibly jealous of those markets that still have the Fit/Jazz.
Don't forget the FK2 & FN2 which is half-Fit half-Civic! 😊 With similar practicality to the Fit (or better), with a little bigger dimensions than Fit and quite a bit smaller than a 10th-gen hatchback. Confusingly, FK2 - as in the Type R - is the same chassis code as for normal 5-door 9th-gen Civics and is also the chassis code for 5-door 8th-gen Civics (but they all have the half-Fit half-Civic thing going on).
Glad that Fit is getting some love. By the way i love my K24 turbo GE Fit. Its been now near 8 years since i did this swap. ha ha Brian is catching up atlast🙃

Been waiting on this because my end plan for my ge8 is to K swap it. You guys are the best source of info for swaps and I couldn't be more hyped for these videos
I'm in the UK and have been wanting to do this swap for a while, bought a GE8 and did much research in the past. Unfortunately this didn't materialise as my mums car needed to be replaced and I gave her our GE8.
It's brilliant the wealth of information on here with this video as this gives me the confidence hopefully this can be done fairly easily here.

This has to be a dream project for my mum's GE8 that I'm now driving
Definitely make it more exciting to drive.
But for now I'm doing little up grades it's a 1.4 ES manual GE8 I've just ordered a ramair kit then I'll upgrade the intake manifold with the crz rb1 intake with a r18 throttle body this should get the most out of it as it's pretty nippy in it's standard form

In my Fit k24 turbo i have been using Mazda RX8 comressor with custom bracket becoz space is so tight, even with HAsport mounts the K-series compressor will hit the chassis. other option is to trim/cut the chassis to clear a K-series compressor which i did in mY CR-Z K24 swap, also turbo
@@A.QPerformance Thank you for the information! Was the performance with the Rx-8 compressor satisfactory? Im assuming the actual size of the compressor is a lot smaller.
@@duweydang yeah its working great to date and size is a lot smaller. No need to bend/cut chassis. BUT custom bracket has to be made for it. I think bending/trimming chassis and firting OEM k series comoressor is more feasable option as i did in my CRZ

Don't use the stock Fit clutch master cylinder. The clutch delay valve is atrocious. 01-05 civic cmc works perfect. All the same fittings.

Great first video on the Fit Swap! I'm looking to do ge8 Sport Auto to K24Z3/Auto swap on one soon! I've also thought of a couple small parts for this swap, that I'll be bringing out there next month!

This is a swap I want to do myself, we have a 2013 and I want to do a K20Z3/6MT swap in it. Very informative. Cool to see that the firewall has the mounts already for the clutch pedal. Not that surprising but nice to have!
So much better than trying to locate them with nothing.

It would be going backwards with the wiring. It can be done, but this is a better match.
You could do a K24A2 head swap and get some more HP.

They are very fun to drive, slow car fast, take corners between 40-50mph, have fun. Definitely want to do this, wouldn't mind keeping it automatic if the padal shifters could still work.
That’s a tough question. The integration between the ECU and the MICU may prevent us from doing that swap.
Had 2009 sport auto with paddle shift on column.
Loved it. Ran great for a 80 yr old man.
My daughter and her husband playing musical cars traded it away.
Did get a newer CRV with the turbo 1.5.
Also had aCRV with the 2.4 auto.
It went too. Ran all day 80 mph with wife driving.
New car is quieter and smoother. Too bad they did away with the good auto trans.
You're doing the manual swap get a new o m clutch master cylinder or one from napa But they are the only ones that hold up and they're not fun to replace

I would suggest going extra grippy on the front tires. Due to the lack of LSD, super lightweight front end and tremendous amount of power/torque the car will wheel hop and torque steer pretty bad on fuel economy tires.7.5-8 inch wheels with 215 tires sounds about right.
I believe we should be able to get a 225 tire up front.
We need a GD3 k swap so I can do mines 😂love the work tho

Tsx,rsx are both k series least the tsx was k series befor 2011

I’m one of the few who completed this swap. Definitely tuning in with the reverse light wiring info and AC wiring. Still kinda confuse why the TSX ecu won’t work with the AC. I’m running the TSX ecu. Also, is this fit going to have the cruise control?? 😊
The AC may still work, but the TSX ECU is looking for information from the climate control. We will try to get the cruise to work too.

The 11th gen Civic Si has the same L series engine as the Honda Fit
Where do you get the skills for this? What classes should I take in high school/college to be “ahead of the game” for this type of work? Thank you.
Any kind of automotive education can help get you the basic skill set and just wrenching on cars will round out the things they don’t teach.
So there actually is a slight difference between the 2nd Gen tsx harness and 9th Gen Si harness, it’s not huge but the connection between the main engine harness and the charge harnesses are different, so you can’t use a tsx engine harness with an Si charge harness. I’m not sure why you would anyway but just to keep that in mind. I found this out because we were diagnosing my friends 2nd Gen tsx, his map isn’t reading and we were trying to figure out of it was harness or ecu related since we replaced his sensor and it still wouldn’t read, but we used the harness off of my 2014 Civic Si and we found that out. Other than that all the sensors and other plugs are all the same

This is something I’m considering doing, but I have an interesting question. How difficult would it be to go KAWD in a fit just how similar mods are done on the EG body
You might be able to use modified parts from the US first gen HRV TO build a car.

To hold higher HP the mounts will have to be stiffer.
With the ECU Swap, do you need to reflash the ECU in order to work with the Fit keys? If so, it seems like its nearly impossible to get away from buying a K-Tuner.
I thought about doing a 6-speed swap into my GE Fit but for all the work it would take, might as well go K.
We will go over what it takes to get the ECU to work with the Fit chassis.

Yeah, but no one makes a mount kit.
Would have been easier to use an automatic transmission? Would the paddle shifters still been functional?
I wasn't really thinking about using an auto. Most people that would do this swap would want the manual transmission.
are the ac controls on canbus??
On the TSX ECU there is an input for the AC pressure switch sensor. I don’t believe there’s any other inputs. We are using the Accord computer which is more like the stock Fit ECU
Can you give a ballpark number for how much $ for the whole k swap without the labor cost.
When we finish the swap we will go over that.
Does most of this apply to the GD1/3 as well?
The GD1 requires some modifications to the engine bay. The K is a little too wide to fit easily.
Any suggestions what I should do with my 2015 Honda Civic SI because I want to get at least a little over 300 horsepower out of it but I'm not sure what brands to go with that are reliable

When the new mounts come out. Or you can use the 2008-2013 Accord 5-speed.
I see you chose to go the 5 speed route. I wonder if the mfactory lsd will go in that trans?? It isn’t listed on their site 🤷♂️
why choose the k24z3 over the k24a2?
The ECU is compatible with the Fit connector.
To me the fit looks like the 4 door version of the ep3 civic si.
Agreed. We’ve seen quite a few 5 door 7th gen Civics in the UK. Super similar. Probably why we didn’t get them in the states.

K20C4 is available stock and makes better power tuned unless you boost the old K. But that would be a lot of retrofitting.
@@VTECAcademy I meant using the K20C4 K series into my 10th gen 😂, it already comes from an Accord body so I'd imagine it wouldn't need crazy retrofitting work
