I would be worried that your antenna wire will break at the ring connector due to the strain of also supporting the box and ground rod connection. Better to add a strain relief there I think - it's what I do on mine at least :)
I want to build a similar antenna for DXing the AM broadcast band, 500 KHz-1600 KHz, any idea how I can determine the impedance of a 'long wire' (relative term on a 300 m band) antenna? I may need a 1:10 windings ratio on a 75 foot radiator.

Thank you Eduardo! I will test it probably this weekend. I will try to made another video. I test SWR response only with disabled ATU. The SWR graphs in the previous video was by ATU disabled too. 😁👍

Great video. I am keen to get onto the HF bands at minimum cost and was very interested in your antenna. I have no garden and wish to build an antenna to fit into my yard. Will this work at half the length for say the 20m and 10m bands?

Under what circumstances would you need the Long ground wire ? If you do need it do you still ground it to Earth Ground with the alligator clip? It seems that by using the ground side you are making a Dipole antenna.. Right ?? 73's N5ZXZ

Surely that yellow and white toroid is a very low frequency lossy dust-iron core, NOT a ferrite? Most well-respected ham websites recommend a much more efficient type 43 REAL ferrite for the 20-40-80 bands.
That looks like a very neat unit. I'm going to watch the next video to see how it worked out.

I thought "20m" was an end fed half wave rather than a "random" wire. Nice setup.

This kind of antenna needs a proper ground to have a better efficiency. But I work QSOs also without ground :)

@Gort Newton If you plan on going to 80mtrs you should use a type 31 ferrite. Type 43 is good for 40mtr and up. Karl
