I’m getting this as a loaner this weekend while another pin’s being repaired. It sounds like a month of heavy home play will be just about right without getting bored. The art of Venom himself is the best I’ve seen, but this pin has NOTHING on AIQ Premium!
I actually got to experience this at Captain’s Auction Warehouse. I finally made the little trip out there with the fam a couple of weeks ago - it was fun! I told ‘em Bee sent me, and the asian fellow there was like, “yeah, I know him…” haha. The Venom table didn’t really grab my attention for too long. Out of the modern tables the new Jurassic Park was the most fun for us; was surprised my daughter liked it so much. Was surprised to see a lot of the machines were off, I assumed they were out of order but I guess you can ask them to power them on??? Being my first time there I had no idea what to expect, lol.
That's awesome you got to go to Captains! Love that place and yes, most machines are off until someone wants to play and you can turn them on yourself if you know where the switch is. LMK if you're ever in the LA area again!
Good job Bee! Really enjoyed the review and it was very well done. I found your point 4 kinda conflicted with points 7 and 8 because it can get boring but the same time you dig the leveling and being able to beat it but I think I get it. I have only had limited chance to play Venom and I’m a huge Spider-Man/ Venom fan but I just haven’t gotten into this one yet. Maybe I just need more time with the machine.
Thanks for watching, really appreciate it! Yes, the downside of it getting boring is more of a potential future state issue, but I'm enjoying the pin and the leveling system as a short term pin in my house. Once you figure out how to get to boss modes, it gets addicting trying to beat certain parts of the game vs chasing a high score.
Anyone notice that Stern Pro's are becoming Home Editions? They're still fun to shoot but...Star Wars HE has 14 things to shoot plus 3 pop bumpers/3 rollover lanes vs 13 things to shoot on Venom Pro (plus no pop bumpers, no rollover lanes). I think Jaws has about the same # of coils/mechs as a home edition. Crazy considering the prices have gone up for pro models.
The game isn't "Beat" until you reach Klyntar. That should help with replayability because even if you beat knull 100X you might not ever get to Klyntar without really knowing what you're doing.
Not to mention you have the additional goal of beating knull with each Character which is another cool goal that you mentioned. I feel like replay ability for Venom is better than most pins. (Think monster bash, you have one goal. Get to monsters of rock. Then rise and repeat. No other side goals really)
This is a great point, I forgot to mention Klyntar which you have to get to in a single game and doesn't have save progress for and is more of the traditional pin ending. Thanks for mentioning that!
Exposed circuits?! what were they thinking!? I like buying mods to take things from good to great not from bad to ok.....:? frustrating to see this type of issue at these steep prices...
10/10 for you and mrs kongs cosplay costumes! but honestly as i watch this im wishing for elton john review , as that machine is off the hook and shows what can be done. Or Galactic Tank Force Pinball signature tank version as that is one crazy looking cab! And failing that i just want to see your star wars pod again lol
as someone whose been lucky enough to own the best machines ever made i dont like this. I would not buy it. But I would borrow it ..if youre bored of it lol good review!
I love the art, even business! I love the simplicity of the gameplay. Downside for me is I feel like its too hard to get into any of the lanes and nothing in the center of the playfield. Does feel like a ball stealer. Hey, Stern! If you wanna give away any more tables.... *points to self* lmao

Enjoy! It was fun to have as a home pin for sure

@@KongsRUs that’s good to know, I need to lock up these “on” switches haha. Next time I’m in LA for sure, Bee 😀

Great point. Venom Pro very much felt like a home edition pin due to removal of the moving mechs and looks very bare in addition to the limited shots.

I think think the exposed circuits are causing any issues, but it's more of an eyesore on the playfield more than anything

Haha, thanks! Hoping to do more "10 things" type of reviews for other products too. I liked doing this format!
The visuals are great, the Venom pinball machine isn't bad either.
Lol, I love the visuals !😍 haha, my favorite part too!
Another great review. Stern is great quality. Like the Jaws as well.
Thank you!
Great review!!

Haha, what machines have you owned?
Lol did you start the video with your wife's back side? Love it :)
Haha, did it make you want to keep watching? If so, Mission Accomplished! 😆
