I did 14 years in the Army as a Combat Medic, and my two heroes are my grandpa and my dad. I lost my grandpa right before I did my first deployment to Iraq. He adopted my dad after he was abandoned by his own father. After I left the Army, I decided to follow my father's footsteps and became a cop. I was on duty one night when I first heard this song, and I'm not afraid to say that it put tears in my eyes. Luke Combs is an amazing singer and really puts out songs you can relate with.
just watched this video for the first time. real good job on your analysis on this song and what i like is that you understand the meaning behind luke’s (and country music in general) messages and stories that make country music special and beautiful. its nice to see people appreciating what luke is doing for country music and it’s fans
One of the best songs and videos I've ever heard and seen is Hardy "Wait in the Truck"! I'm definitely one that has always loved music and I'm 54 years old, but u should really check out that song and video! It's really awesome!
The history behind the song is one of his writer's sons was going off to college. And he wanted to write a song about this so this is what they came up with. They wrote it in like 2 and 1/2 hours and produced it within 6. And I can't tell if that instrument is a ukulele or a mandolin but either way it does sound quite delightful
You’ll learn all this crazy country.. there is so many different instruments..my favorite is the Steele guitar... more in old country... but hey Luke is new country but good.... ❤️Tennessee
Yes I like reactors who don't really listen to country music who can respect and LISTEN to this great music. So thanks for doing this. I see some that are really annoying who laughs throughout and don't really listen.
Yep everyone does Jason Aldean’s version, which he’s a good artist, don’t get me wrong, but Dirt Road Anthem is Colt Ford’s song. The version with Colt Ford and Brantley Gilbert is so much better than JA’s version.
Mandolin is way more complex than ukulele, but they do have roughly similar sounds. That man never said "ukulele." He was talking about the small, tinny sound that small instruments produce, kinda like a ukulele. You are a dickhead. God BLEsS your HeARt
please react to a UK artist called Loyle Carner, u'll love his stuff (not a lot of pple know him but it worth it. few of my favs: Ottolenghi, Ain't nothing changed, the isle of arran, loose ends, Mrs C, Damselfly)
You have no idea what you are talking about with this song... "Great Chores"? You made no specific point to your reaction of the meaning.... You kept is safe and general for your own channel, and followers. Fake reaction... I'm sorry, but I had to say it....
He is amazing and this song hits different when you've lost your dad... 💔
I haven't lost my dad, but it still hits me because I know there will be that day. Sorry for your loss and all that have lost their dad.
It's the worse pain ever and never goes away. I am close to both my parents... this song tears me up every time... Beautiful song. Thank you!! 💓
You just can't hate his voice.

Most often country music is about home, heart and soul which all of us can related to in our own way. Thank you for your thoughtful reaction!
My dad loves country and this is one of his favorite artists. I'm almost a teenager now and this song really cuts deep.
Going throwback here, Tim McGraw - Don't Take the Girl. Also, Zac Brown Band - My Old Man. Won't be disappointed.
