Coldplay had 10 sold out shows in this stadium but they saved a few tickets for this particular date to release after the announcement about Jin performing the astronaut with them was made so armys could attend the concert and support Jin too! And yes! Chris was singing in Korean and harmonizing with Jin throughout the song, Coldplay's team muted the audio to let Jin shine in the livestream they aired to the theater but in the fancams from the concert you can really hear Chris singing along in Korean :)

That's what I thought! I would have liked to have heard his Korean vocals 😄😄

Beautiful! You already know from the live chat that those are not ARMY bombs but Xylobands.
Coldplay have been giving them out for free at concerts since 2011. Coldplay were the first group to introduce interactive LED light shows at concerts. The radio frequency-controlled wristbands are free. You can keep it or hand it back for cleaning and re-use at the end of the show. They have big "recycling" boxes at the exits. Most people return them because they don't light up outside of a concert. At the end of a tour the electronics are removed for re-use and the wrist band is composted.
ARMY bombs were not programmable until 2017. BTS was the first to add programmability to a K-pop light stick. They use bluetooth, and are mapped to a seat. RF tech broadcasts a signal across the stadium to "paint" a light show onto the crowd.

I just want to give some more information about enlistment and military exemptions for artists and athletes.
There actually is no exemption for artists and athletes. There is a program that has the word "exemption" in the title, and that leads foreigners to believe that qualifying musicians and athletes don't serve. They do. They even go to basic training.
What the exemption gives them is an exemption from ACTIVE DUTY. They are not exempt from conscription. After basic training they are transferred to Supplementary Service and "do volunteer work in their field." That means free shows and appearances at the discretion of the government. That could be a World Cup stage for no pay, or singing happy birthday to a diplomat's kid at a private party (for no pay). Whatever the Ministry of Arts and Culture wants them to do. For no pay. They don't live on base, but they are still in service and must follow the military rules of conduct. If they break a rule they get sent to active duty. They must do a certain number of hours each month. That would probably mean new music, but no world tour for BTS until everyone has done two years and ten months of free gigs in Korea.
Active duty is 18 months. Medical exemptions do Supplementary Service (usually desk jobs or working at a police station) for 21 months. Musicians and athletes have to serve the whims of politicians for 34 months.
The government wanted BTS to go into a program that would give control of their career over to politicians for two years and ten months. I seriously doubt BTS wanted that too. It's far more likely they wanted what they got in the end - to just go do their 18 months like their friends and fathers and uncles and brothers did and be done with it. The government was not trying to pass a law giving BTS freedom from military service. They wanted to make them perform for free for 34 months, like they do with classical musicians and Olympic athletes. It probably won't surprise you to learn that some musicians and athletes who qualify don't take the "exemption" anyway. My guess is that BTS would have turned it down too.

Thank you for this information. I knew that exemption didn't mean they wouldn't serve at all but I was not aware that they had the option to decline the exemption. However what I'm not clear on is that since the president had asked one of the Ministries to prepare a proposal to amend the legislation to include this "exemption" for kpop artists in general (if they meet certain criteria) in order to make it fair and not just a special thing for BTS, does BTS stating that they will start to enlist at this time stop those discussions and paper works that would have already been processing?

@@nuhkyah23 I'm not sure. But I do know that when politicians work this hard for something, it's not going to benefit anyone but the politicians.

Coldplay created the concept of using lights that sync to the music at concerts over a decade ago! A few other western artists started following their lead and then Kpop groups started with selling lightsticks that do the same thing. They use wristbands that they give out for free so "the audience could be part of the show and they can all be one big band together" according to the group. They have been working on the sustainability of their shows overall to reduce their carbon footprint for years now - kinetic dance floors, solar power stages and cycling to generate energy for the show etc and the compostable (takes several years but it's better than nothing haha) bracelets that are supposed to be returned at the end of the show to be sanitized and reused is part of the initiative 😊

Loved your reaction. Just wanted to mention that Jin wanted to enlist 6 months ago to avoid training in the cold weather, but the guys and the company talked him out of it because of the Busan Concert. Now he'll be going in the winter, he said he doesn't do well in the cold weather.
On a happy note, Jins, The Astronaut debut at #51 on Billboard Hot 100, with virtually no radio play time. LET'S GO ARMY!!!!!!!!! Congratulations to Kim Seojin. 👑🐹💜

I finally got to watch your reaction:') i don't know if you'll see this comment but I'll post it anyway. so i got the opportunity to go this concert! they announced it a week before the concert with almost all of the tickets sold out so most of us armys that got to go bought the tickets the week before literally. with a group of army friends we camped in line the whole week so i got barricade! it was the most surreal experience ever. BTS have never come to Argentina so we've been waiting for almost 10 years and after the military enlistment announcement we were all mentalized to wait until at least 2025 so we were really shocked with this. it was completely bittersweet because we got to see jin for the first time ever in the biggest stadium in our country, performing for the first and probably only time ever his new song, but we were all saying goodbye for now. when i tell you that every army in that stadium was crying throughout the whole song I'm not exaggerating. we also learned the english lyrics to the song in less than 24hs of its release so we could sing it with him. in the official video you can't hear it well bc they lowered the sound of the audience but if you go to any video taken by a fan you will hear us perfectly. i uploaded my video to my instagram @malearellano , it's really embarrassing tho bc all you can hear is me screaming the lyrics and sobbing😂. there were also a lot of armys with signs like "army will wait for you" "army is here" and I'm sure he saw it and also heard us. he came off of the stage smiling really hard so I'm sure he felt all our love💜🇦🇷
    thank you for reacting comedian🥰

Its not about 2 being long, its about how these 2 years could be the years when they could carry on being the bts they have always been, after that they would all be 30 ,priorities preferences personalities everything changes, the 2 years which was so imp is snatched from them and us,nothing will end but everything will change and that sucks,i just wish jimin doesnt stop flirting with us

Coldplay concerts give bracelets which are programmable to light different colors. Most Argentina BTS fans did not have the army bomb since it is so expensive there. Some of those with bombs there were from other countries who were Coldplayers and Army at the same time.

The 2years would have become 7years if he didn't volunteer to go before his 30th birthday which is in December. The problem is other kpop stars and actors who have done their 2years have not had an easy time of it. Things like other soldiers taking photo's of them naked in the showers and posting them on line, sexual abuse issues, other types of bullying. One of the problems with BTS going is that those in power have suggested that them might like to perform while there. ' Might like to' as if it's a offer rather than an order. There are potential issues of exploitation of BTS members as there has been of other Korean artists and actors doing their 2years of service.

You have to see the aerial shot's from BTS concert at Wembley Stadium with 60,000 fans. Do you know what it means if those light bombs are not glowing at a Korean peformance it's referred to as Black ocean. No Korean group wants a Black Ocean as it means the fans don't like what you are doing on stage.
