What I love about Hadiya's performance is that it can be analyzed to the smallest detail, but it doesn't matter because NONE of that is part of her singing. Like you said, it's just pure emotion. No technique is "getting in the way". And because it's pure emotion, every little thing she does is straight from the soul, unfiltered. And it hits THAT much harder because as adults, we've often forgotten what it's like to hear someone bare their soul through usic.

Ken, I do sometime watch various reactions of others but I must admit that today I truly found out what " reaction " means.
Awesome, the way you analyse each and every lyrics, every note with rhythm and your explanation is most brilliant.
A real delight to watch and listen to your analysis. I'm just pressing subscribe that'll be my first for any reactor at all.
I'm not sure if you know much about Pakistan's coke studio and it's genius founder, Rohail Hayat. I bet guarantee, you will be blown by that.

    • @fayyazahmed7126
      @fayyazahmed7126 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I agree with you one hundred percent. I also do watch reaction videos, but never seen anything like this. The only other reaction which can genuinely be called a reaction was from Sonu Nigam. He was moved to tear listening to Hadiya Hashemi.
Ken, if you get time I propose you to watch 'Kangana' from coke studio season 1 or perhaps season 2. You will be blown away listening to 16 minutes of music riots. For the first four minutes there's only introduction what the elderly duo singers going to do and then the song and music blasts simultaneously, and for the rest of twelves minutes how you are going to control yourself, I leave it to you. All the best

Fayyaz Saab, I think when it comes to music, Pakistan has a level that can't be beaten by our Neighbor That always boasts about their music and film industry. If you analyse the amount of likes and views from Indian viewers of Pakistani dramas and music, the figures are staggering and speaks for itself how popular our showbiz industry has been in last two decades in particular. Our Coke studios resonates from Russia to Brazil and Canada to South Africa.
I was reading about Indian viewers comments that our soul, Sufi, folk and hip-hop and pop music is growing with heaps and bounds and India is literally very jittery about this.

Fayyaz Bhai, thanks for the compliments.
I was into it in 70's and early 80's when AlamGir And Shehki used to rule out pop industry. We followed BeeGees, ABBA, Elvis and Jackson fives when only few people had this taste in those days. Then late 70's I was involved with a band called String Fellows in Lahore. I left Pakistan in early 80's for further study but I have always been very keen follower of music, Although I have been out of Pakistan for last 38 years.

      @fayyazahmed7126 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Dear Saleem sahib: currently your age must be in mid 60s or late 60s. Well I was a college student in the era you are talking about. I too have grown old listening to Tina Charles, ABBA, bee gees and so many other eastern and western music. The period from early 1960s to late 1970s was a glorious period for global music. For Pakistan it went well into 1980s. Then there was a pause for about 15 years. And then came vital signs and late Nusarst Fateh Ali Khan. Since then it's continuously scaling new heights.

"Bol Hu" is a Sufi song by band "Soch", featuring 8yr old prodigy Hadiya Hashmi.
The chills that you are experiencing while listening to the song, is the testament of the truth and words being sung in the Sufi Song.
Here is the translation of the Song:
    Say HU
    Paint yourself with colours within
    find a companion within
Make a small world for yourself
be a wanderer in spiritual ecstasy.

    Say, just HU (God)*

    Keep dreaming with empty eyes
Do what your heart says but listen to everyone
With broken breaths, keep fighting, keep moving forward
piece by piece keep collecting your fate.

When soul and body says HU
Even the summer hot dry wind feels pleasant and cold
    Shed tears while prostrating
Be a wanderer in spiritual ecstasy
    [leave all your worries behind].

    Say HU!

In prostration why think of someone else
Why is your heart broken and in pain
Why are you? Why you exist? Contemplate!

    Fight the war within
    Stun everyone around you
Make a small world for yourself
Be a wanderer in spiritual ecstasy
    [leave all your worries behind]

    Say, HU.
    ALLAH HU!
Highlighting some concepts of terms used in the Song for the Non-Muslims audience.
In Sufi Music the "Hu" is reference to God / Allah
Companion Within: In Muslim tradition God is everywhere, especially inside of our hearts. When there is no one around to help you … reach out to God in your heart.
Spirituality: The West has explored different type of spirituality. However, very few have explored spirituality that exist in Islam. This is when a human tries to connect with God by praising him. The Nirvana of Islamic spirituality is when both your Soul and Body starts saying Hu.
Prostrating: Muslim Prostrate while praying i.e. put their heads on the earth in humility and to rid themselves from Ego and praise God to get closer him. If you shed tears during this prostration. One will find true happiness. This war between Ego (selfishness) and Humility before God is the true struggle of Humans. If one conquers his Ego, only then can one find peace within himself and enjoy the spiritual ecstasy.

"That instrument" is a harmonium. Its similar to piano but non electric and you have to keep that front moving to get air in.

    • @fakhrussalhin3149

Not even close to piano except the keys. It's like saying Sitar Rubbab Taanpura is like guitar. In fact this TH-camr made a closer connection (accordion) than you

    • @ashishrajput6714

While a piano is a string instrument ie sound is produced when a hammer strikes the string, a harmonium relies on wind for the sound. It can be loosely compared to an accordion.

  • @sabak2718

Here is my explanation about lyrics of the song.
To understand "HU", consider phase before BigBang.
No time, No space only "He" the creator. This is "HU" phase.
Then A Bang resulted in time and space, both expanding
Sooner they both will collapsed (reverse bang kind of).
Then it'll be "HU" phase again.
Everything we know is a small part of what exists between these 2 phases of "HU"
Now, where the little girl starts her part, the song invites you to think about
"what are you" , "why are you"
The song suggests ... You will get the answer if you isolate yourself and think more about your existence.
Your soul and body will be yelling the "Answer" ... "HU"

This song is a religious song regarding Allah, or god. Thus this song is emotionally charged, emotional music as well as highlighting or "showing off" the voice are very popular styles in the greater Islamic world, as well as microtones. Many muslim singers will begin practicing at a young age by reciting the Quran, or Islamic holy book. Its recitation are melodic.
