What a great REAL review. You got deep into the pros, cons and quirks without boringly repeating the specs like any other channel! What a pleasure to watch! ;)
Thanks for adding the context. I suspected as much but couldn't find a reference to it (or rather didn't bother to read pages of metallurgical reports to figure it out) 😀😀
I have an Explorer 2. I think it’s the most GenX watch, 1971 original (I’m 1972 born). Quirky and different and understated (esp, the black dials, white dials feel more modern). SMP, esp Brosnan quartz, is a contender as well. Interesting both princes UK wear those two watches.
I did get the Alinghi almost a year ago. The wait for the original FXD Titanium was long, and when they announced Carbon Composite, I made a decision to get one. I already have a Pelagos 39, and that stays on the bracelet. I like the Alinghi blue dial. I have other black dial, black bezel watches. Months after getting the Alinghi, my dealer did call me when the Titanium black arrived, but I’m perfectly happy with the Alinghi. Reviewers went bonkers over the rehaut inscription, but when I saw it in person, it’s barely distinguishable from the seconds. The Carbon seems as scratch proof as anything I’ve experienced. 11 months, and I can’t find a scratch on it, and I’m not very kind to this watch. No matter what I wear, when I get home, the FXD goes on my wrist. Comfortable. Durable.
So true about the rehaut, we're over exposed to beautiful macro shots of every watch release over and over on YT, you have to see any watch your interested in in person to really make your mind up.
I have moved on from the FXD MN to the OG blue Pelagos mostly due to the bracelet and I like the brighter blue. The FXD's hands are very close to the crystal making for a much better read angle when underwater. The MN had a bi-directional bezel and since I use the bezel to time things every day I will always miss this feature on all my other divers. Something I couldn't have known without handling and FXD prior to buying (I'm in a small town with no ADs) is with my failing eyes the fully graduated bezel made it difficult if not impossible for me to clearly see zero at a glance. I may have waited for a blue 39 but above all I love the matte ceramic bezel of the OG and FXD, really as you stated the the lack of any polish anywhere on the Pelagos is key.
Wow, not only are you my favourite watch channel but I’m also surprised that you own the same beloved watch that I have… SPB143. It is simplistic, classy, under the radar and aesthetically pleasing. Your tudor is also as classy as it comes. Thanks for sharing your collection. 👍🏻
This summer I as you about a month ago bought a Tudor FXD. I got the MN though 😁 And this week I got the Omega SMP300 summer blue, I sold my Longines Ultrachron and Omega Railmaster to get the SMP.
Excellent stuff! Love the way you talked about your decision making process. So one of my grail for a over year has been the Tudor FXD Alinghi Red Bull Chronograph - I absolutely love the colour scheme, the FXD aspect, the ruggedness, the size (43.5mm), the functionality and the lume. But never saw one in person as I live in New Zealand. I was in Japan recently and finally got to see one in person and it was an incredibly good price. I walked away from it, told my wife and she told me that I should have grabbed it. Well upon my return to NZ I bought it online! Fantastic - apart from the strap which although being beautiful, is just too small! So it's a strap monster and gets a lot of wrist time. Footnote: - I do hit the water a lot (particularly underwater) - although I'm more likely to use my SteelDive GMT Master as it's way cheaper - my adventures can sometimes a little rough on watches - rock, crawling along stony river or sea bottoms underwater etc) but the fact that it CAN go underwater If I need to is reassuring. Also: The Red Bull branding is very subtle and you'd have to go looking for it, so it's not a problem for me.
Congratulations on your new watch! Love it!! My titanium Helson Shark Diver has the exact same sound you are describing. It has 300m water resistance with a Miyota movement and acoustically sounds hollow. It works fine and is superbly light. Cheers!
Congratulations! I have the same watch and it's a favorite. I enjoy wearing it on the Garmin Ultrafit style hook and loop straps or the ZuluDiver Octopod clasp and strap system
I think these are great. If I didn't already have a Pelagos LHD, I'd probably be eyeing these. Instead, my most recent pickup is a G.O. SeaQ Reed Green on the bracelet. Thanks to channels like this one for helping me make that decision!
Summertime Seiko slim turtle 317 on fkm vented from wrist envy, great colours including azure blue. Also a Traska Freediver version 1 no date in black on a black tropic. Just need the sun now. The FXD an excellent everyday wear, nice work, been really enjoying this refreshing channel.
I absolutely love my black FXD - super legible, massively durable, is trim thickness wise, sits great on the wrist, is lightweight titanium, a lume beast, very accurate and by changing the strap I can go from subtle to eye popping - I wear it most often on elastic single pass CNS Paratrooper straps or an Octopod system strap - I spend a lot of time in rural Latin America for work, it has become my "go to" over the past year. It works as a field watch with skin diver properties and if I stick with tamer straps it totally flies under the radar which is why I prefer the black over the blue, and imo is the best true tool in my collection - no, it is not for everyone, definitely not ideal for the one-watch person, there is no way to dress it up and if you hate "nato" style straps, it is pretty much a no go, but for my use case it is fantastic. Nice to see this watch starting to get some love from reviewers like yourself and a few others. Always appreciated the BB, but imo the Pelagos line is Tudor at its best - a true modern and unique redesign of the quintessential tool watch. I have been a Pelagos devotee for years, actually my LHD was my "work watch", but the FXD has stolen its glory. One last thing I would add: do not dismiss this watch based on it dimensions or the initial impression takes of most reviewers, imo you really need to try this watch for yourself to understand it. You will notice that the people that actually own and use it are often as effusive with their love for this watch like myself. Once again, love the content Mike!
I have an MN21 that I have beat around for years now. It's the best mechanical tool watch ever made. For perspective, I also have a White Gold Submariner but the Tudor is simply functionally better. The legibility on this watch is so good that it actually surpasses the functionality of a digital display because the time can be read at all angles at a glance. I'm not sure I've ever see another mechanical watch where the dial is so close to the crystal. I have a countdown timer, while yours is a traditional dive bezel but regardless it's a crisp and easy to use functional timer. The bezel is very sharp and grippy, so if you ever do use it in water or with gloves (diving) it's a dream. The lume is phenomenal. It is very long lasting and you can actually read it in the middle of the night. The titanium makes it light and it's certainly durable, although it will scratch up. The movement has been great for me. Very accurate and no issues. It's a lifetime piece for me. I don't have a big collection: White Gold Sub (Cookie Monster), OP Celebration, IWC Ingy Aqua, FXD, and G-Shock 5600 but this watch firmly sits as my beater, and what a handsome beater it is. I'd only really recommend the watch to people who want to really use it though. I think there are better options for a versatile diver. I recently got to try the new BB41 Monochrome and it is spectacular. I highly recommend that for those looking for a more versatile option.
That watch looks great on your wrist man. I’m also a big fan of the titanium matte color. I also love the comfort and sport look of the Nato strap. Some watches looks great on Nato and the FXD is one of them. I bought a nato strap for my GMT 116710 black. Looks great and that is my summer watch this year. Was hoping you showed some luminous shots. Enjoy it and thank you for posting the vid.
Thanks. Yeah - The whole watch photography thing is still a learning curve for me. I'll get to loom and macro shots eventually. For now I just need the pictures to be reasonably sharp 😂😂
Dear Mike, I was actually one of you fans that spotted your FXD in one of your earlier videos and left a comment :-) Thank you for your review and for laying out your considerations between the four divers! I am an owner of the FXD Marine Nationale. It's the watch that has received the most wrist time in the last one and a half years. I especially appreciate the lume. I cannot compare it with any Seikos (as I have never owned one) but this Pelagos has the best lume I have come across so far. Keept up your great content! You are my most favorite watch TH-camr!
I had the Pelagos 39, and still have the Sinn U50 (THE best tool watch!). I get the love for your version, thankfully does not have a Titanium bracelet, which was very noticeably bad on the 39. BUT as a designer, look at the 10 on the bezel... OMG, for me it's once seen, never unseen, yes other bezels do this, (the 39mm doesn't show the 10) but since the other numbers only have 3 places around each number why put 4 each side of the 10. Type hell... But glad you got it and love it, enjoy!
I wear my two liner OG pelagos the whole year, so also in the summer. For my vacation camping i wear my G shock gulfmaster gwn q1000, it has a compas and a barometer. I like those features when camping. Great vid! Greetings from Belgium.
Wishing they would add a date version of the fxd or pelagos 39. The no date and the blunt hour hands are the only things holding me back from getting a tudor in my collection, but the blunt hour hand is slowly starting to be acceptable hehe
I like this channel. I am not even into watches myself but I genuinely like listening to people talking about their passions. For what it’s worth I personally don’t like Tudor for the pet peeve I have against the name Tudor. Silly but anyways.
Welcome to the Pelagos club. 👍 I've had my MN FXD for about three years now but this summer it's loosing out to my Longines Heritage Classic Sector Dial (white dial, blue strap. 38mm). I was in an AD looking at another watch and my grandson decided to try the black dial variant on. I tried it after him and it was love at second? sight. But loved your review/thoughts on the FXD and I hope it did all you expected of it on your holiday. Totsiens en tot die volgende keer. 👍
I’m glad you mentioned the downside to wearing a bracelet at the beach. I always considered how hot and “heavy” the bracelet would feel when at the beach, but I never really considered how sand could get between the links and grind away. Thanks!
Another consideration is security against having a watch snapped off your wrist. A bracelet is held together by a bucket full of little pins any of which can fail. A proper milspec NATO strap only weak point is the buckle pin (a genuine NATO strap is welded not sewn and has no springbars) as opposed to the around 18 pins on my Citizen bracelet.
I honestly just wear my apple watch ultra at the beach.. any mechanical watches i have are more toys than anything else tbh and wouldnt want sand or sunscreen on em
I live in Florida, and it is a chore wearing any watch on a bracelet in the summer. Like 4 months of "beach" conditions just walking out the door in the morning.
I'm about to buy the SPB453, but the Alinghy FXD is also in the back of my mind. Enjoy the watch. I hope your vacation was great. Thanks for the review. I love the watch.
Congrats! Just started my watch journey this summer with a Black Seiko Alpinist GMT. Looking forward to building my collection in the future. Loving your content!
Just to let you know, watch collecting is a lifelong hobby and tons of fun. The best advice I can share is buy what you can afford and enjoy wearing, and you will never go wrong -- even as your tastes will change. Equally important, if you are married, include your wife in the hobby by buying her watches, and she will support your watch collecting habit!
@@dannysimenauer5745just remember, always stay on the yellow brick road!😉.. set boundaries and goals and be true to yourself! This video is a perfect example of that! Good luck!
The bezel flex could be a feature to accommodate pressure associated with deep sea diving. My Deepsea James Cameron has this feature by design. It’s almost like a shock absorber for your watch!
This summer I’m wearing my Squale sub39 super blue on it’s blue tropic strap ! Gotta love divers with just steel bezels and those dauphine hands , toolish & dressy at the same time 💪🏻 Congrats on your Pelagos ! I’ve got my eyes on a Pelagos 39 for next year let’s see !
Now that is a nice acquisition Mike! It would have been very hard for me to pick between the Sinn or this but I think you have a stunning dive watch now! This really is a strap monster indeed! Perhaps the sound is due to the density of the material. Titanium grade 5 comes in at 4.43 g/cc where 316L SS is 8.0 g/cc. Just dont wear that around Jozi. You WILL get robbed depending on where you go. Even Sandton isnt safe these days. Take care man and have a great weekend!
It took me 9 months of deliberation before finally buying a 116710LN. Important to take these things slow and to be sure. There were several occasions when I had an Omega or Tudor on my wrist and almost bought them. Glad I kept looking forward to the watch I really wanted. Love it more every day that it's on my wrist.
The FXD is the first Tudor that speaks to me (maybe also the North Flag). I have been using the same watch for my summer vacation for the last maybe 30 years. The Citizen Promaster JP2000. It's my ultimate beater and I still love how it looks.
It's a lovely watch you've bought. I usually prefer retro-styled watches, like the Black Bay 58, etc , but with Tudor, I like the Pelagos more. This watch has a great toolish functionality and simplicity about it that I really like. As to summer watches, I'll take the G-Shock Mud Master I bought in January on holiday and when I'm at home, I'll mostly be wearing the Nivada Grenchen Super Antarctic I just bought. And my trusty Tudor Ranger will get plenty of wrist time too.
You are killing me. My most worn watch is my spb143, on a nato ofc, and dare to say, I might, in some ways love it more than my pepsi....my grails watch was a FF, until I tried it on. The Sinn I have yet to try in the flesh, but I have tried the RB FXD and have imagined what a regular blue MN would look on my wrist. On my opinion the perfect, slightely higer end blue variation of my beloved Seiko. This just pushed me even more to this watch. Thanx, just when I thought I can spend my money on other more important stuff 😂
Nice watch Mike! I was tempted by the OG Pelagos 42mm but went with a few discount divers instead. After getting a Submariner I’ve sworn off divers unless I start growing gills 😎!
Ive been tossing up between these same two watches! I've settled on the U50 after trying the black FXD on a couple of times for 2 major reasons; the size is better on the U50 and it has the date, which is my preference. Love the titanium, fully graduated bezel and the fixed bars though.
Love it - avid Tudor fanboy here. Wish this was also available in 39mm but the Pelagos fits that bill. I had the original Pelagos but just wore too large. The BB 54 is my choice this year. Enjoy the new piece!
This video needs to be something Tudor marketing study. Really good explanation of what's good about the brand that the actual marketing utterly fails to convey.
Now I would enjoy a pub quiz night with the crew. Glad you didn’t edit out the kids. Makes it all more human. You can have a great watch and kids. My thing with the divers is bezel scale. As an older person I need a bigger easy read dial. If the bezel isn’t to scale, too thin seems like a common problem. Liked this video.
I just bought the FXD Alinghi version and yes I was concerned with the Red Bull text but it completely disappears and is subtle enough to be almost imperceptible. Great watch, super lightweight, tough and under the radar.
The old citizen promaster model also has the vertical play in the beezle, from what I've gathered is it made to be loaded outwards in this way with the slight space so it will continue to function, even if there is a build-up of salt or debres that can get in while diving.
I absolutely love my FXD so much that I’ve ordered the 42mm Pelagos as a smarter watch. I also have a few Seikos in my collection SPB143,SLA043 and Marinemaster Anniversary SLA025.
Hope you had a nice holiday. My holiday watch is a Sinn EZM 3. I put some fat bars without shoulders in it that I have to cut out, but I don't need to, because I love to wear it with Natos (especially at sea and the risk of breaking a spring bar). Very similar to the Tudor with its sand blasted case and black dial with only a little bit of glossy red (that I love!). Slim case (12,4mm) despite soft iron cage and a decent 47 mm L2L. And at around 2k€ you can even wear it light hearted when using power tools or working on the car/motorcycle. Might be an alternative when you're done with the Tudor. Great review btw, and a great channel!
“Don’t like sand” haha, fantastic! I love the beach and sand and don’t like the country because there’s mud. Sticks to your shoes, gets on your jeans and smells. Give me clean, salty sand every time! Btw, really enjoy your vids; they’re the first I view 👍🏼
Interesting to see and hear about the bezel flex when you push it down at the edges. I bought the new BB41 monochrome 4 weeks ago and noticed the exact same flex in its bezel. Thought it was a fault but looks like it's a feature of how the watch is built, as with the FXD's. Great vid as always and enjoy your new purchase
I have the same process for expensive watches. I print out the photo of the watch and put the price on it. Then I wait and see if I still like it while I build up the funds. I waited 5 years before pulling the trigger on the GMT Master 2. Boy it does not disappoint and I knew it wasn't an impulse purchase. Next up is the FXD for me as well! Try out the WOE Glomar Explorer strap on the FXD!
Where do you sell your watches? I bought a standard 42mm black Pelagos 3 months ago and I have looked at that watch as my sommer-watch, for over 3 years. So I like your choice!
Congratulations on the Pelagos FXD Black I have the MN23 FXD and have a couple of Steveo Sraps (uk) pseudo military straps and they make it totally Unique
Nice Tudor, congrats. My summer no 1 surprisingly is the JDM Citizen PMD56-2951, a simple titanium Promaster with green dial. It's light, not too boring and wears great in summer heat on a beige Perlon strap (which by the way you can get now with matte finishing!). And even though its radio control is Japan only, it works with iPhone app which simulates the signal perefectly :)
I considered the Pelagos FXD but wrote it off because it’s probably big on my 6.5. I never considered it as a summer watch candidate. I also sold my spb143 because the movement in mine was garbage. I replaced it with a Seiko SJE101 and never looked back. It’s the reason why I don’t lust after every new diver anymore. Also makes for a great summer watch.
The square indicies and snow flake hand just make this so good. Pelegos is easily the best Tudor. I wish they would offer more colours and a GMT 39mm version too.
I own several Tudors but by the time this one appeared for sale I noticed that looked at with a squint they all look very similar, and all the same without my specs. . My favourite of the bunch is the "Lefty" Pelagos. Much as I like the new monochrome 41 I won't be buying any more Tudors until they come up with a new idea.
I own the P39, and the only thing I don’t like about it is the difference in colour between the hands and the indices. The hands look a bit yellowish under certain light conditions. Is it something that happens also in the FXD, or is it something that Tudor have fixed?
Been wearing the black fxd in Dubrovnik all week - prefer it to my seamaster etc - so easy to operate will slippy sun cream hands and suits every outfit. Easy to adjust strap too
You ask what I'm wearing? Had a Zelos MOP Blacktip I bought in January (was going to sell it, but finally decided to keep and wear it after seeing that the bezel actually did move)......it has gotten some wrist time. Also been wearing a CW C65 Dartmouth that just came in(CW's answer to Omega's Seamaster Heritage minus the 3,6,9,12 on the dial). Enjoy the Tudor‐-glad it's your cup o' tea , 'coz it's not mine!
I'm not much of a Tudor fan since I'm not much of a Rolex fan, but I think the Pelagos is their best, and I've also considered getting the blue FXD. Maybe a BB 925, but since they're roughly the same price, the Pelagos FXD is much more compelling. But a Seamaster can be had for pretty close to that, so...
Congrats on the new watch! Tbh, however, saying that you considered the FF as an alternative, is like saying: Look guys, I bought a new Ford! I also considered a Maserati, but I went for the Ford in the end. 😅
I think the FXD is my favourite Tudor, but I really like the count down bezel of the first model though, it would be more useful to me. Hope you had a good holiday 👍
Ha! You ended up getting the black one after all. I will admit to being a bit surprised. No worries, though. Black might make a better combination and more flexible with with whatever you may be wearing. The bright MN Blue is definitely a "look at me! I'm a Tudor dive watch on his wrist!" It really all depends what you're going for.
Enjoy your new watch. My summer watch is the Seiko Dolce SACM 151 with a Forstner Komfit "astronaut" strap. I think the ventilated non-leather strap is rather more important than the watch in hot weather...
Great review, love your cool, calm, collected nature, just discovered your channel and will definitely be diving into your back catalogue. Also, love the Predator reference 😂
I was going to buy a Tudor BB, but I went for Longines Zulu Time instead, mostly due to Tudor's QC issues and thick cases. Perhaps I'll pull the trigger on future models.
I’m the same way when it comes to my shopping experience. I don’t impulse buy. I go in a few times, think about it, and determine if it’s a value proposition for my wants. By the way, I got a Sinn U1 through this process.
Congratulations on the new watch. I'm not keen on all the text. I have three 'dailies'. SInn UX S main. Marathon Arctic GSAR sleep. Farer Lander Kano for comfort. Sometimes a Muhle Big 22 for contrast.
Beautiful watch! Congratulations. My summer buy was the Seiko SPB237, which has silently dropped off the Seiko website. I don’t own a Willard recreation yet, and FOMO made it an instant buy😂. I love it thus far.
@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch thank you! Good enough for me! In the mean time, a friend who runs a watch shop offered me the Citizen Promaster tough, for half price, so I'll be getting that while I save.
Don’t own one personally & I agree they may be a bit “ boring” but also they epitomise “wearable”. Great choice👍makes a lot of sense. (I personally like titanium, black faced watches too!)
Congratulations for the purchase (both brains and heart involved :) and thank you for sharing. It’s the only Tudor watch I really like in the current line. Currently scratching my head for my summer watches (yes plural I take 3) in Italy soon. For sure my Seiko SLA069 (Uemura diver with the Mont Blanc, stunning white dial), and then probably the « manga » G-Shock (so fun for $100) but the battle is epic for the third slot, the « special occasion » one. Submariner is classy but common. My two tone Daytona maybe a bit too much. A Swiss Integrated bracelet? Or a stylish microbrand (just got this meteorite Nivada G and eyeing Serica)? Or a vintage chrono (old Tudor big block, old Heuer carrera, 80s Seiko quartz)? Nice problems to have :)
Love the Pelagos, but then I do own an LHD as I like the roulette date wheel and I wanted a bracelet, it's a nato strap monster too. Mike, Im interested to know about your one in, one out watch policy, is due to reaching a particular number of watches, or overall value of your collection? 47,000 subs, you'll be hitting 100,000+ by the time 2024 is out. Great choices. U50pro owner here. Maybe you’ll find one in time.
Can’t go wrong with the Tudor. Excellent watch. Congrats 🎉
Just bought that watch. Love it! Have Sinn U50 Hydro as my beater watch. I’d call Tudor restrained not boring.
What a great REAL review. You got deep into the pros, cons and quirks without boringly repeating the specs like any other channel! What a pleasure to watch! ;)
Thank you kindly 😀😀
I work with titanium, it has less sound dampening properties than steel. This is why you can hear the movement.
Thanks for adding the context. I suspected as much but couldn't find a reference to it (or rather didn't bother to read pages of metallurgical reports to figure it out) 😀😀
This may be the most gen-x watch ever. I’m gen-x and I love it. Over engineered but completely understated. Not flashy at all.
The water resistance is kinda meh, but perfect otherwise imo
As another gen-x, I couldn't agree more.
@@Killua_Overwatch yeah totally can’t keep up with your next saturation dive to the kiddie pool.
As a fellow gen-Xer and sports diver, I prefer the Certina DS Super PH500M..

I have moved on from the FXD MN to the OG blue Pelagos mostly due to the bracelet and I like the brighter blue.

Thanks for the feedback - really appreciated. Will try to keep it up 😀
I had the Pelagos 39, and still have the Sinn U50 (THE best tool watch!).
An FXD over the octo?
You were the chosen one!!
I know. 🤦♂️ Blasphemy et al... 😀😀😀
So, Anakin was talking about his watch bracelet to Padme?
I honestly just wear my apple watch ultra at the beach.. any mechanical watches i have are more toys than anything else tbh and wouldnt want sand or sunscreen on em
I live in Florida, and it is a chore wearing any watch on a bracelet in the summer. Like 4 months of "beach" conditions just walking out the door in the morning.
I'm about to buy the SPB453, but the Alinghy FXD is also in the back of my mind. Enjoy the watch. I hope your vacation was great. Thanks for the review. I love the watch.
Good choice 👍👍
Good luck!
This summer I'm wearing my Citizen Promaster NY0120 52E which i bought myself for my 50th.
Congratulations on your purchase. Happy summer!
Love the channel and congratulations on the new Tudor. Beautiful piece.
The bezel flex could be a feature to accommodate pressure associated with deep sea diving. My Deepsea James Cameron has this feature by design. It’s almost like a shock absorber for your watch!
I went with the U50 and love it - but I respect the choice. Enjoy it!
I have the regular Pelagos... u50 may be my next watch...
Yet another brilliantly presented video. The FXD in black is a favorite of mine and hopefully a future purchase. Enjoy!
Love your watch reviews, Mike. Thoughtful, thorough and realistic.
Love your watch assessment framework! Would love to hear your take on Chopard Alpine Eagle.
I just generally overthink things 😂😂😂
This summer I’m wearing my Squale sub39 super blue on it’s blue tropic strap ! Gotta love divers with just steel bezels and those dauphine hands , toolish & dressy at the same time 💪🏻
Congrats on your Pelagos !
I’ve got my eyes on a Pelagos 39 for next year let’s see !
Squale!!!!!!!!!! 😂😀
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch yes sir + the frogman 🥹
Congrats! The only Tudor dial layout that works with the snowflake hands.
Great vid! Thanks! Can only recommend Erica Straps instead of NATO! I own the blue MN one. Love it!
Yeah. We're five guys that quiz on a regular basis.
Three Guiness drinkers and two Regent drinkers. Fish and chips. All round. 😂
@@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch Right on. I think I would enjoy the euro pub culture.
I just bought the FXD Alinghi version and yes I was concerned with the Red Bull text but it completely disappears and is subtle enough to be almost imperceptible. Great watch, super lightweight, tough and under the radar.
The Anakin quote made my day ! Wonderful review
Well spotted 😀😀😀
Appreciate the Predator reference near the end.
You're one of the few that spotted it. Well done. Cheers 😀😀😀😀
The old citizen promaster model also has the vertical play in the beezle, from what I've gathered is it made to be loaded outwards in this way with the slight space so it will continue to function, even if there is a build-up of salt or debres that can get in while diving.
You should get an Erika’s Original made for the FXD. Single layer and infinitely adjustable for ultimate comfort. My favorite nylon/nato type strap.
Congrats on the new watch, really like the comparison with the other watches you considered
Got mine in September and it has not left my wrist since. It’s been my go to everyday watch
Fantastic watch I went for the first 2 line model with the titanium bracelet & extra rubber strap less is more absolutely class.
Solid choice. Not fan of the Invicta style case engraving of the Blancpain case. Was the Sinn U50 Hydro at some stage in the list of options ?
Different places. The OCTO I sold to an AD. Don't get as good a price, but it's also for the relationship 😀
Congratulations on the Pelagos FXD Black
I have the MN23 FXD and have a couple of Steveo Sraps (uk) pseudo military straps and they make it totally Unique
Hope you had a great trip and congrats on the watch...I hate sand as well! ...born to relax
Picked mine up yesterday! It's hard to explain how legible it is using words. You have to see it. It wears smaller than I thought it would.
I own the P39, and the only thing I don’t like about it is the difference in colour between the hands and the indices. The hands look a bit yellowish under certain light conditions. Is it something that happens also in the FXD, or is it something that Tudor have fixed?
Congratulations on your new purchase. It is a beautiful watch.
Been wearing the black fxd in Dubrovnik all week - prefer it to my seamaster etc - so easy to operate will slippy sun cream hands and suits every outfit. Easy to adjust strap too
My bezel has exactly the same ‘rocking’. Thank you so much for pointing this out - I thought it was only my watch….
No worries
You ask what I'm wearing? Had a Zelos MOP Blacktip I bought in January (was going to sell it, but finally decided to keep and wear it after seeing that the bezel actually did move)......it has gotten some wrist time. Also been wearing a CW C65 Dartmouth that just came in(CW's answer to Omega's Seamaster Heritage minus the 3,6,9,12 on the dial). Enjoy the Tudor‐-glad it's your cup o' tea , 'coz it's not mine!
Congrats on the new watch, I Always enjoy ur episodes and cool that u quoted Star Wars 😎 cheers from Beirut
For me good watches are truly to be found at all price points. I'm not just sticking in one price point and ignoring the rest 😀😀😀
Does MLJP g100 have anything special? Is edox an wort considering brand, especially their Neptunian line?
Great review (again)! I am going to my AD to look at the FXD GMT this week.
Haven't seen it in the metal yet, but am definitely looking forward to trying it 😀😀
congratulations I picked this exact watch last month and I’m wearing today! cheers!
Great video as always Mike. Just curious why you didn’t consider the CW60 Trident Pro 300? Btw, congrats on the Pelagos! Amazing watch.
Great review, and an even better Predator reference!
😂😂"Shtick aroounnd"
I am wearing my blue Tudor Pelagos for the 4th summer. Amazing watch. The only downside is having a silicone spring.
I thought that was an upside for antimagnetism
@@theannouncer5538 Most of the high end watch brands like Vacheron, A Lange, H Moser, rolex don't use silicone
A lot got the other references, but not many got the predator reference. Well done 🙂🙂🙂
I was going to buy a Tudor BB, but I went for Longines Zulu Time instead, mostly due to Tudor's QC issues and thick cases. Perhaps I'll pull the trigger on future models.
Tudor does seem to have some issues with QC unfortunately yes😀😀
True. Was just on vacation and apple watch was by magnitudes the most prevalent watch. In close second: Garmin 😀
Welcome back from Portugal. It's beautiful out there
Weather was great. Pool was warm 😀😀😀
I've finally settled on a grail. IWC Spitfire (I owned the Mark xvi and loved it).
Can I ask for your opinion about this watch?
Short version? Great watch. 😀
@Mike.thiswatchthatwatch thank you! Good enough for me! In the mean time, a friend who runs a watch shop offered me the Citizen Promaster tough, for half price, so I'll be getting that while I save.
Don’t own one personally & I agree they may be a bit “ boring” but also they epitomise
“wearable”.
