  • The time has come for one of the most exciting comparisons I've had on my channel! The Squatch LORE vs. Pound RUFUS!! I can't wait to hear what you guys think of these 2 bags. I equally love them both!!! But, the Lore is refreshing in some ways. LOL

    Thanks for the great content! I love my deluxe Rufus, only wish is that it had more d-ring locations. That and the same issue most bags have with getting the side discs out of the main pocket. Mvp Voyager (older versions I think) solved yhe issue by not having the zipper curve around the corners and just end on each side but it hasnt caught on yet. Id give all your videos 4.5 stars if i could and then 5 stars once the table squeak is gone.😂

      @@ViridiskI'm really looking forward to your review. I'd love to know:
      1. Comfort. Especially compared to the Rufus and the Legend.
      2. Stability. Does it fall over? It's it top heavy?
      3 ease of use. I love the firm factor. I actually really like the versatility of the side pockets.

      @@chiebert290 Hi there! Thank you for the sub! I've addressed this in my review. But, I'll summarize it here in case other people read the comments.
      1. The Lore is comfortable, but the Rufus is slightly more comfortable.
      2. The Lore is stable. It is not top heavy and it doesn't fall over as easily as other bags I've used.
      3. The Lore is very user friendly. Just like any product with innovative design, the Lore does take some time to get used to. Especially the side pockets, but it doesn't take long to familiarize yourself with all its functions. You'll get the hang of how to use the side pockets and its putter pocket real quick.
      Hope that helps!

    Great reviews! I have an odd question, how well does the Lore rainfly fit/function on the Rufus? They seem to be close enough in size. I know the button vs Velcro loop attachment at top are different, but seems like it would still work 🤔
    I might eventually end up with both bags, but the Lore rainfly is less expensive haha

    • @Viridisk
      @Viridisk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! The Lore rainfly will fit on the Rufus (I just tried it). However, it's slightly bigger on the bottom, so the main compartment opening doesn't completely line up. But it's definitely still usable. The top flap works fine to access the putter pouch.

  • @brianc1651
    @brianc1651 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks. Very good comparison. I like the putter pocket on the Lore much better. I am new and while I bag a good amount of discs, I only am comfortable using few consistently each round. So most used fairways and mids would go there for me. Do like the Rufus side pockets better. I just can't get over that price difference. The Pound would have to wow me for over 100 dollar difference I would think.

    • @Viridisk
      @Viridisk  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The price difference is quite a bit. However, after using both, the Rufus is overall a well-balanced in comfort once worn compared to Lore 1.0. The Rufus also does come with double convertible side pockets now, so it's even more usable than before. It's a tough choice, that's for sure.

      Oddly, the Rufus is still more comfortable to put on and wear when fully loaded. I don't know what they do with their bags that make it so balanced. BUT, with that being said, the Lore is by no means a slouch in the comfort department. I think they just need to tweak the position of the strap attachment points, and they'll have a winner of bags.

      The straps on all pound bags are not only the most padded and most comfortable, but also designed to be easily replaced when needed, as that is the most likely component to ever wear out. I've had a pound bag for over 5 years and most of that time I've played at least 5 rounds a week and it's still holding up as good as new. There's no question that pound is the better value

      Why is it needed? It is an added cost with no real benefit. With the Lore being shorter than the Legend, the flap literally rests right on top of your discs. Adding a piece of velcro wouldn't change the position of the flap at all as the flap would still be sitting right on top of the discs in the main compartment.

      Hi! So, I rewatched the video, and I can understand why it can be confusing. When I got to 12, I moved my hand over what looked like 3 discs, but it was actually only 2. Some of the Axiom midrange discs look like 2 discs from a distant because it has a wider rim color (they usuale have 2 tone colors, 1 on top plate and 1 on the side), and so from certain angles, it does look like 2 discs. This is why it looked like I went over 3 discs instead of 2. I recounted the discs in the main compartment of the Lore, and there are indeed 16 discs. Hope this clarifies things! Thanks for pointing that out!

    • @Viridisk
      @Viridisk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think the Rufus' design has purpose. I think the sole purpose from Pound is for a bag to carry 20-24 discs while balanced once it's on your back. As a matter of fact, the other bags in their lineup have a similar design, even though it doesn't seem like it. I will try to do a video to explain it.
      But if they were the same price and comfort was not my top priority, I'd pick the Lore, too. But since I value comfort overall all,, I'd choose the Rufus.

    • @chiebert290
      @chiebert290 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your reply. It's great to hear feedback from someone with that much experience with Pound's line up.
      I think there's a lot I'm not seeing with the Rufus because everyone who has one loves it. Even those with Pound's larger bags.
      (One exception is that it doesn't seem to fit well for taller people).
      But here are the minor areas that would really annoy me if I bought a Rufus:
      - asymmetrical design when open (because I would never use both sides the same way)
      - leaving the side pocket open makes the bag look incomplete exposing that half zipper
      - lack of sufficient d rings
      - difficulty pulling out the discs from the sides of the main compartment
      -top putter pouch would also bug me
      -mini pocket is too big as people have mentioned that thier mini falls out of it
      Don't get me wrong, I still think the Rufus is an amazing bag. It might only take me a couple rounds to get over all these minor gripes. And then I'd love it. And tell all my friends that it's the best bag I'd ever owned. But for now, I'll order a Lore.

    • @Viridisk
      @Viridisk  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@chiebert290 The Rufus is definitely not for everyone. As a matter of fact, even some of the Pros who are sponsored by Pound had gripes with the Rufus being asymmetrical. Hence, Cole Redalen, asked for a symmetrical design on his Rufus.
      Pound now offers a symmetrical deluxe Rufus on their website.
      The challenge of pulling discs out of the sides of the main compartment is definitely something you'd have to learn to live with. And for some people, that's not acceptable given the price point of the Rufus.
      The putter pocket on the Rufus does have it's cons. But, I do believe there was a purpose for that pocket's design, given the overall size of the Rufus. The tapered design of that pocket is part of the reason why I think the Rufus sits so comfortably when compared to other bags in its class. That and it's shoulder straps' placement.
      I did notice that the mini marker pocket is a bit bigger than the their other bags, which is odd to me, too. LOL
      Yes, I do believe that once you hit the course with the Rufus, all of your dislikes about it tends to vanish. I have the same problem, too! LOL

After playing a round with him, he offered to make a whole new bag with some small changes to see what my feedback was. At the time I played every day. I ran into the same issue with that bag and after that he made me another bag with beefed up zippers, which is now standard on all pound bags. I've had this bag for 5 years at least now and there's zero problems. Levi is the man and truly cares about making the best quality bags.
