Madhuri - (being distressed by the heat) Mother, there is no respite from the heat this year too. Earlier there were only three of us in this small hut, but now two more have been added.
Kamla - (wiping sweat) You are right daughter-in-law, now it seems that we will have to make up for our previous arrangements. The cot made of grass that you and Rajni had made together. Make another one this season too.

narration - Everyone had no other option. The elder daughters-in-law made rotis which filled the house a lot and in the heat of the summer, they swallowed the dry rotis with salt and onion. The poor daughters-in-law were having similar days at home and now they were facing another problem.
Rani - Mother, this straw roof of ours is now getting spoiled. Just look at all the sunlight coming inside the house.
Kamla - Rightly said daughter-in-law. There is no treatment for this?
