Haile Selassie said himself he’s not god, in a CBC Radio interview: “ they should never make a mistake in assuming or pretending that a human being is emanated from a deity”. Jesus made the same arguments in John 18:37. But humans are human, so they will label a human being as god, which is impossible, but it is easier than making god an anonymous entity. This form of belief also make the people easier to suppress and control from seeking social justice. However, belief is a powerful force, and can free you from mental slavery, such is the case with Rastafarian’s. The “King” is after all , there saviour and “God”. Haile Selassie granted them freedom from the colonial Caribbean, by offering free land in Ethiopia, to work for there community and culture, not for a foreign, European, slave driver colony. Bless
