In Ivanhoe, even the villain has more personality than the hero. There's an excellent miniseries from 1997 that even turns him into an anti-hero that you sort of root for.
Audiobooks at work must be a game changer! I listen on my lunchbreak! I love Poriot, and I agree that ending missed the mark for our beloved charater. I saw the tv adaptaion and hated it.
Great start to the readathon!! I read My Cousin Rachel for England. I started Les Mis for France but that'll take me to the end of March and I plan on starting Mistress of Rome by Kate Quinn for Italy and possibly read two other Italy books as well.
I did a terrible job on the first week of this readathon!😅 I actually forget to pick a book for last week and then before I knew it the week was gone. But I did stray a book set in England!😅🤭 But it is a beta read so I can’t track it or talk about it!😂
Wow! You have had an amazing start to 2023 with completing so many books! That’s England ticked off for your readathon! 👍🏴😊📚
I know! I'm surprised how much I've been reading this month!

Yeah...he was so boring! I'll have to look up the miniseries. Thank you for the recommendation!
You've read so much! That's awesome! Utopia sounds interesting!
I know! I'm shocked at how much I've been reading, lol. And Utopia is such an interesting book!

Yes! Audiobooks are great! And yeah...I had just higher expectations on how Poirot would die.
@@AnneEWilliamson Think we never expected him to, to be honest....

I'm glad your reading is going well too! But wow...Les Mis is a lot to tackle!

Ha, that's okay. I say beta reads count even if you can't track them!

I hate when they try to make a hero due from suicide and attempt to glorify it or explain why it’s ok for that character. It just makes me mad!😅

Yes! I hate it too! Suicide shouldn't be glorified in literature.
