I'm a fan of the podcast but am surprised, and disappointed, by the casual reactions you and your guest have to Draisatl clearly headhunting Barkov. A two minute minor is a fair call?? Do you think the call would have been the same if it was Cousins giving a cheap shot to McDavid? What your guest said about there being two different sets of rules for the regular season & playoffs might be true but it is also BS (and deserves to be called out). The NHL talks about player safety but, of course, it always comes down to money (they don't want to suspend one of the star players). Also completely disagree with what John said about needing to use the stick for it to be an egregious penalty. As a former MMA fighter, I'm guessing that Mr. Buccigross has never been elbowed in the head with malicious intent. The extent of the injury should not determine the penalty. That would be like letting an attempted murderer walk free because he missed the target. Suppose we should also just be thankful that Luostarinen didn't get his leg broken (again) by Foegele. SMH.
I also believe 💯 percent that if it had been a Panthers player doing the same thing to McDavid, Draisaitl, or Hyman, he would be both fined heavily and suspended for a couple of games, if not for the rest of the Stanley Cup Final.
Agreed. Also, I would include the trouba attempted elbow on Necas earlier in the playoffs in this category. A CLEAR attempt to elbow like that deserves suspension.

For all intents and purposes they've been shut out in the series so far. I'd be surprised if Edmonton scores more than 3 goals total in the series.

They don’t have 10% of the talent of Doc to call a game. Very sad. Add these 2 to the constant bombardment of ad signage and commercials that couldn’t be dumber if they tried and they ruin the game. I’m at the point to start recoding the game first then watch it with the sound off and ff through all the stupid ridiculous commercials. Don’t forget to jam gambling down the throats of viewers along with the rest of the sports. That’s a terrific idea to get people hooked on.
TNT's product is far superior to ESPN. There Intermission is terrible with the commentators. The commentators calling the game are a disgrace. Commentators are supposed to be unbiased, in this year's playoff there has been bias in every game. Post-game is non-existent. It's just terrible. I cannot stand watching any of the playoff games this year on ESPN wish they would just get rid of them and most people agree.
Talking about player value Leafs fans and media have ripped down the value of Mitch Marner as a player . And not in a very nice way. Toronto is a jungle full of hungry animals. Surely of Panthers win the Cup, as John Buccigross told, many Panthers players will get a good raise to their next contract. But so far the 4th line has been a bit of disappoinment.
