Katedrála svatého Václava Olomouc

Katedrála svatého Václava, zvaná také dóm sv. Václava, se nachází v Olomouci na Václavském náměstí. Jde o domovskou katedrálu olomoucké římskokatolické arcidiecéze. Je rovněž metropolitním dómem moravské církevní provincie. Původně románská bazilika z první poloviny 12. století byla počátkem 13. století přestavěna v románsko-gotickém slohu. Následovaly další gotické stavební úpravy během 13. a 14. století, kdy byla loď katedrály zaklenuta křížovými klenbami. Počátkem 16. století vznikl raně barokní presbytář. Koncem 19. století chrám prodělal radikální přestavbu v novogotickém stylu, která mu dala současnou podobu. Katedrála od roku 1995 patří mezi národní kulturní památky. Její 100,65 m vysoká hlavní věž je druhou nejvyšší kostelní věží v Česku. Ve věži visí zvon Václav, který je největším na Moravě a druhým největším v Česku.
St. Wenceslas Cathedral, also called St. Wenceslas Dome, is located in Olomouc on Wenceslas Square. It is the home cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Olomouc. It is also the metropolitan cathedral of the Moravian ecclesiastical province. Originally a Romanesque basilica from the first half of the 12th century, it was rebuilt in the Romanesque-Gothic style at the beginning of the 13th century. Further Gothic alterations followed during the 13th and 14th centuries, when the nave of the cathedral was vaulted with cross vaults. An early Baroque presbytery was built in the early 16th century. At the end of the 19th century, the cathedral underwent a radical reconstruction in the Neo-Gothic style, which gave it its present appearance. The cathedral has been a national cultural monument since 1995. Its 100.65 m high main tower is the second highest church tower in the Czech Republic. In the tower hangs the Wenceslas Bell, which is the largest in Moravia and the second largest in the Czech Republic.
