- In het natuurgebied de Maashorst broeden met succes Grauwe Klauwieren.Deze opnames zijn gemaakt in 2023 en 2024 op een plek waar ze elk jaar terugkomen.
Red-backed Shrikes are successfully breeding in the Maashorst nature reserve.These recordings were made in 2023 and 2024 in a place where they return every year.

Wow, capturing healthy Red-backed Shrike juvenile being fed by its parents is such rare footage! Your work is amazing, and the background is so soothing. It's fascinating to witness both mom and dad shrike being so hands-on, continuously feeding their fledgling. One thing I particularly love about the Red-backed Shrike is their unique behaviour of impaling their prey, almost like barbecuing them before eating, especially with larger catches. But seeing these parents tenderly feeding various insects to their young, with those robust stumpy beaks, is absolutely thrilling. Gorgeously captured, Gijs-thanks for sharing! Best. 📽🎬💚
Hello,thank you very much for your nice and friendly and.extended response and i am very pleased with that.I spend more than 50 hours to follow them and the juveniles grew up very fast and were learning very fast from the parents.Within 4 weeks they were already hunting by themselves.If you are calm and take your time they will let you come closer and get
used to you.But my lower back had problems with that😅😅 I wish you a nice and sunny sunday.....😊😊

iets moois van te maken. Maar er gaat niets boven de belevenis en ontmoeting met deze vogels die uiteindelijk wel gewend aan mij raakten en mij dichterbij lieten komen zonder ze te

I managed to capture footage of it eating a Wasp... pulling its head off etc. Very similar to one of your scenes. My fave scene is of the mother feeding the chick some sort of large Dragonfly. Dag Jacques,heel hartelijk dank voor je lovende woorden en dat doet me goed!!! Ja...hier heb ik in totaal wel minstens 50 uur ingestoken en altijd op statief.Meestal richtte ik de camera
op een plek waar ze vaak landen en liep dan weg en filmde elke keer 25 minuten en dan enkele keren achter elkaar en zo lukte het een aantal keer dichtbij opnames te maken zoals het voeren van het jong.Ook lukte het wel steeds dichterbij te komen zonder ze te storen.Als je de tijd neemt en elke keer een stapje dichterbij gaat wennen ze wel aan je en uiteindelijk
kon ik zo die opname maken met de kikker.Al met al een heb ik enorm genoten van deze ontmoeting en vind ik dit eigenlijk nog mooier dan de beelden.Behalve miijn onderrug want
die protesteerde regelmatig van het lange stilstaan!! 🤔🤔 Groetjes Gijs

zo'n 25 minuten en ga op afstand kijken of ze in beeld komen.Gaat vaak mis maar af en toe lukt het wel!! Groetjes Gijs😊😊

Hey dear Gijs! Great collection of Red Backed Shtikes and well filmed. Do you report your observations in eBird ? The Red Backed Shrikes do not breed in Israel, however they migrate through Israel and now it is a great time to see them. Thank you very for your great effort I really enjoyed.

it there but i know a lot of people in my neighbourhood who are reporting observations on this website.Maybe i will someday....🤠🤠

Heb eerst drie keer gekeken ,ik wilde begrijpen hoe je dit voor de camera kunt krijgen .En het blijft mij een raadsel ,heb ook een camera maar dit gaat mij niet lukken .Geduld in ieder geval ,maar ook dan nog haar scherp .En als kroonstuk die kikker, ja hoe mooi kan je het maken .Proficiat Gijs zeer geslaagd .
Dag Jan,ik heb echt alles uit de kast moeten halen en met veel geduld en minstens 100 uur en een zere rug.

Prachtig Gijs! Het is een kleine documentaire. Het gaat goed met de klauwieren tegenwoordig hè. Je sprak over vele uren (ik geloof het!) en je zere rug. Ik vermoed dat je de opnamen in een schuiltentje hebt gemaakt?
Mooie beelden van een unieke vogel! Kostte veel tijd zeker?
Dag Corno,ja dat kan je wel zeggen.In totaal minstens 50 uur en heel veel geduld! Nooit gedacht dat ik één uur stokstijf in de houding kan staan zonder beginnende klachten maar als je gefocust bent vergeet je schijnbaar je ongemakken.Het meemaken en de spanning wat er gaat gebeuren is haast nog mooier dan de beelden.Bedankt voor het kijken en je reactie...😊😊

Hello,yes.....exmoor pony's ....from the 2000 on earth there are about 70 in this nature reserve and so very lucky that they are here.Also 14 Wisents...🤠🤠
