Skx has this thing with its simplicity. Bought the 009 as my first mechanical watch after watching so many videos about mods, had all these mods planned (first ones in my life) and now that I have it I love it so much the way it is that I almost think its a pity to mod it hahahahaha. Might have to buy another one to do the mods hahahahahaha.

What about a sapphire caseback? I just ordered my First 007 and before its arrived already purchased double dome clear AR and sloped aluminum bezel along with clear caseback. Its a White special dial with the little bit of Black around 9 to 12
I modded mine with a blue tint AR,double domed sapphire crystal and a black ceramic 12hr bezel(useful for GMT function since I travel a lot).The “snake crown” is next 👍

I did the same things except with a super jubilee on my 007J and it looks amazing. I wear it for special occasions. I wear a stock 007 with super jubilee on a daily basis.
Sweet! This is what Seiko should have done with the venerable SKX divers tool watch line, (instead of discontinuing it). Simple upgrades, slightly upmarket, while making the watch more durable and functional. Good example of the 7s movement, can be as accurate as anything out there and very rugged. Yeah, I like hacking but the simplicity is part of the charm.
Rob, what's your technique on sizing the stem? Do you have the lengths (maybe based on the case?) listed down and use a caliper to measure where to cut? Thanks! I enjoy your vids.

Man I like that watch. I love it. Problem is, my G-Shock GA-1000 A is accurate to-the-second with the atomic clock at time.gov, and accurate for months. I tune the time once per year. Being infected with OCD, my mind simply refuses to accept that five-second-per-day accuracy is OK. Its fine. Its perfectly acceptable. But no, it isn't, because in two days its 10 seconds off, and in a month its minutes off, and who wants to constantly reset their inaccurate watch? See the problem? Tell me you see the problem! :)
@@RandomRobReviews if WR, screw down crown, and lume on the bezel insert all don't matter any way, then we might as well ditch the SKX altogether and just embrace the "improved" 5KX platform.

I like it! Apart from the crown, this is very similar to the mod that Marc at Long Island Watch did for me.

Set it to phone clock every day or just use phone for accurate time and use watch for rough time and fashion accessory
