I feel like most of the hype around Doom Stone is because he was the last Swap Force character released, kinda like Wham Shell and Lightcore Hex. Hes good but it kinda depends on what difficulty you're on
Doom is a great top that makes some attacks on the bottom viable when they previously weren’t (namely fire kraken’s “the big one”). But the bottom is atrocious because it increases your hitbox and just isn’t that effective.
His top half is pretty good defensivly and using his shield can cancel any attack early,yep even being in the air as rise,doom NEEDS a good damaging bottom half as doom has some of the worst dps out of all the top halves,stone is easily the worst bottom half,but overall i would put doom in C tier and stone in F tier.

I hated that they bragged all previous Skylanders were playable in new games but they always nerfed the crap out of them so u needed current characters. So dirty. Wish they'd make a new game where all old characters r usable & powerful so ppl who have massive collections can enjoy them on a bunch of new levels & make them all scannable & in a digital library nicely organized (better than switch imaginators)
About Dino Rang! One thing that has to be mentioned is that his boomerang shield reflects projectiles which is a MASSIVE BOON in Swap Force! Swap Force has propably the most deflectable projectiles in the whole series. With the upgrade that makes the shield last longer, you can destroy Tech Geargolems with their own bullets while being completely safe.
well I knew that I'd miss something, still thats some pretty useful tech, probably only moves him to Countdowns placement. Reflecting projectiles is really broken in this game

I only knew about this because I love Dino Rang, and he was one the few Skylanders I didnt sell off in my childhood. And when I got back into the series, I started with Swap Force
10:02 One reason why so many of the melee Spyro's Adventure and Giants characters' attacks feel so sluggish in Swap Force (rip Terrafin) might be that Vicarious Visions overdid the "hitstop" for animations! Hitstop is a fighting game animation trick where you "stop"/"pause" the player and enemy animation right once a hit lands. It's not something you can always see when played at full speed, but you can definitely feel it. When done properly it really sells the strength and impact of an attack! (Smash Bros. is a great example.) But hanging on it *too long* can make things feel slow, and at worst make the character feel unresponsive-each frame that the animation is paused can feel like a delay between when you press the button for the next attack and when it actually comes out. Go frame by frame in the video on Terrafin's punches (using "," and "." when paused) and you can see just how long he holds on a pose and that "hitstop!"
yea,its honestly one of the main reasons i dont like the VV engine games that much,the hitstop pausing is rlly annoying,for example free rangers primarys projectlie counts as a melee hit which means it does the hitstop,so if u let a projectile go through like 20 chompys ur stuck frozen for like 3 secs which is so dumb,i dont like using melee skylanders in VV engine games because of hitstop

wrecking ball's tertiary attack does have a use. if you eat an enemy, the burp gains a lot more range, damage, and speed. i don't know if this is in spyro's adventure or swap force, but it is in giants.
I actually did notice something different about the attack when I was using him when gathering footage, but must not have been that important if I forgot numerous times while editing LMAO
I'd say that Hot Head peaks in Trap Team, cause there's a glitch where if you press jump and his primary attack at the same time, he'll do a dash that gives him crazy mobility and makes his soul gem obsolete
I have recently discovered a similar speed glitch with eye-brawl that involves galloping your thumb over the jump and then the primary attack. It works with eye-small as well but it's more difficult (both this glitch and the hot head one I found were both on accident)
a wow pow is an additional move a skylander can obtain if you are using their series 2, series 3, or series 4 figures, also known as reposes. no, you don't unlock multiple higher the series number is, thats just counting "oh this is the 3rd figure since the original", a skylander can only have 1 wow pow, and the wow pow is different depending on the figure, so for example, a series 3 spyro will have an entirely different wow pow compared to a series 2 spyro.
i remember i hated swap force as a kid and wrote it off because my GOAT thumpback was so bad in it compared to giants, i was 6 or 7 i think and thumpback was the first non-starter pack skylander i got so i have a ton of nostalgia for him. the truth hurts. there is no santa claus, there is no easter bunny, and there is no game where thumpback is good
Really enjoyed watching this tier list in combination with your previous two tier lists to see the highs and lows of each Skylander! Me and my mate are about to do a two-player nuzlocke from SSA to Trap Team on Nightmare, so keeping these build paths and playstyle rankings in mind is definitely something we'll be doing 🤝 Cheers, I'm definitely looking forward to the Trap Team tier list later this year!
I'm guessing controllers with back buttons or paddles would make gill grunt easier. Idk. I'm kind of just a casual player who just enjoys all their cool powers & has a soft spot for Halloween type ones especially but they're really all so cool in their own ways which is why I collected them all😂

In my opinion Spy (Top-half Spy Rise) Jet (Bottom-half Boom Jet) is the best combination. Mainly because of the execute and heal (Spy) and the broken 150 damage spam dash (Jet).
Great video, I've been here since the giants video, and I've been loving it, keep up the great work! Also, I would love to see a tier list video on all the combination of the swappable skylanders.
Next up a very mixed game with a very mixed concept and where the places will be switched again with another tier list (villains), some cooked some half baked, love these actual well researched vids and can’t wait for you to do a tier list of the actual games (though last place should be obvious nuts and bolts 2, I think) also the minis count as separate entries for worse and better.
Literally haven't played Trap Team since launch, cant wait to play it again, I'll probably do a ranking of the games at some point. I was also thinking of doing a video ranking the levels in each game, because the next video is not gonna be the trap team ranking.

If I am not mistaken, they didn’t make attacks go slower but rather every time you hit an enemy it slows down. Seriously, try hitting nothing with Terrafin and then hit training dummies in Swap Force, you will see the slowness. Great ranking by the way 👍
that would make sense, I would assume they did that to make the hits seem more impactful but since enemies don't stagger it really just hurts a lot of skylander's potential
Is it me or did they break Prism Break's crystal drop? I remember it being able to deal ridiculous damage in giants but just... not working in Swap Force. The crystals would just disappear on enemies.
it does feel really janky. Not helped by enemies huge HP pools, and sometimes the crystals do phase through the floor. Really should have increased the hitbox size of the crystals

@@MrSmashySmash I have no idea if enemies have more HP on higher difficulties, or if they're just like that. In Giants enemies did crazy damage but didn't have that much HP so it was kinda balanced and I never played Trap Team or Superchargers on anything higher than hard because I didn't really like them enough to replay them.
Doomstone is.......... Definitely flawed but if you play him very specifically he can put in work, he's a crowd control gremlin, shield is ironically his best skill 1. Anyone that attacks you is instantly stunned, perfect for a charge up smack 2. It can reflect projectiles, turning them green and launching a stun projectile back the opponent. The best part is you don't need to upgrade the shield path, you only need it to stun anyways. Bottom STONE is kinda garbage, top upgrade path makes the circle do more damage, the other path with the projectiles is...... Fun I guess but they do 12 damage. It's not great but it's manageable
I think dune bug is actually one of the best skylanders in this game if you play him right. His secondary attack is like a waayyy better version of magna charge with throwing bros off cliffs
It’s nice to see skylanders like punk-shot and roller brawl actually have good things to be said about them on a tier list, I personally think roller brawl should have been top of B but I think they were alright placements.
apart of me hates to admit it but prism break in swap force just isnt the same, prism break s2 in giants was peak of prism break, on the second attack path you can spam those prisms and use a speed hat to make up for his lack of it, along with the charged shot working with or without the prisms (if you doubt it just try beating nightmare mode on giants with only prism break, youll thank me when the arkeyan juggernaut tries to shoot your prisms instead of you)

I’d like to point out for trigger happy that his blast attack still harms spinning enemies and so far shatters the shield to the beginning enemies I’m still testing others, but I feel like that should be noted
scratch is arguably the strongest Skylander in swap force. She can solo nightmare mode no problem and has by far and away the best damage output of any character in this game (ruby path). The only characters you can kind of make a case for being better is either cynder or roller brawl because of how mobile both of them are and therefore can also solo nightmare exceptionally easily too. The don't deal anything close to her dps though. there are some majorly shitty takes in this video I have to say.
the base health and damage got increased on everything in this game and also level 20 Skylanders is the max level. They are not buffs the stat system just got changed in this game with higher hp and damage on Skylanders and enemies
I really want to critisize the fact that the tier list is based much more on raw power this time, but also, it's freakin Swap-Force we're talking about ! All the game feels like an arena battle, so I guess it's fiting.
@@staringcorgi6475 Yeah, yeah, totally. Camo is extremely good against almost every boss in giants, especially Robokaos which is usually not an easy boss. He's also very good against some bosses of Trap Team by cheesing some phases, such as Wolfgang, Golden Queen, he's one of the only kinda consistent answers against Wii U Tae Kwon Crow (with Loop, Rise, Rouser or Shroomboom) and he's also very good against Trap Team Kaos because he can heal very efficiently in between attacks, especially on hard (same for Krypt King). Rattle Shake transforms Wolfgang into a sitting duck with his turret that slows down enemies, making him pretty free even on nightmare, and he breaks Dr. Kranckase in the same way, making him completely free. It also works against every boss that run on your face, especially Eye Five. (Also, Rattle Shake's INSANE bulk makes him the best swap skylander by FAR, even though his damage output isn't crazy, it's extremely clutch on the turret sections of Swap Force.)

I respect your opinion, but Doom Stone I believe is actually a great Skylander, especially in battle mode as he can block attacks and re direct ranged attacks.
I don’t Like Dune Bug either; especially compared to the other magic additions to swap force. But you can trap enemies in his Ball an throw them off cliffs. That at least should put him a Little Bit higher. It is not as satifying or as easy to pull off like it is with Magna charge But still. Probably still the weakest Addition to swap force
Free ranger’s blade path is better in my opinion, you do 25 damage for each hit, finishing damage is 100, AND you can move and it only takes like a second to charge, he deserves to be higher, the lightning path is kinda disappointing tbh

I too am a fan of Smolderdash, and I agree hold hardedly with Roller Brawl, I think she’s cute too, and I like that she deals out smooches as an attack. Food Fight is also va’d by Billy West. your logic is so inconsistent you put flashwing and star strike in high tiers because they can reflect projectiles when DOOM STONE DOES THE SAME THING. HOW IS DOOM STONE WORSE THAN HOOT LOOP BRO HE SUCKS
reflecting projectiles is a nice boon, if they didn't have it they'd still be top tier. also the reflection is in a circle around them and not a shield that makes you move slower and only deflects in the front.
@@Dymastia you forget that doom's top half is a.. top half that can be swapped with every other bottom half leading to cool and unique combos. honestly you should have ranked the tops and bottoms separately because they're essentially 2 different characters and swapping is their main gimmick like pair up doom with something like blade, charge, jet, or ranger, and the possibilities just multiply like crazy
@@SkinnyMood27 pairing Doom with any other bottom half that's good wouldn't really affect his placement. also another reason the halves aren't ranked separately is because the bottom half is basically just movement speed and one attack.
@@Dymastia that might be true about most bottom halves, but some are obviously better than others. some favor attacks rather than movement, and vice versa. being able to give a top half exactly what it needs is a good feature and honestly doom is not even that bad. like you have good damage if you wait even just a little bit to charge the column up. or don’t even charge it at all. and blocking all damage and reflecting projectiles is pretty cool on a top half that you can pair with anything. shield path definitely still sucks so you should go for column clubber path at all costs. call me biased, but you’re sleeping on peak. characters like fire kraken or trap shadow are so incredibly weak compared to doom stone

From my experience playing him, he has invincibility from the shield which can be rather cheesy, but his damage output is absolutely abhorrent.

its been ages since ive played but as a kid i really liked free ranger solely cause his secondary/bottom tornado attack disabled shields.

Next up a very mixed game with a very mixed concept and where the places will be switched again with another tier list (villains), some cooked some half baked, love these actual well researched vids and can’t wait for you to do a tier list of the actual games (though last place should be obvious nuts and bolts 2, I think) also the minis count as separate entries for worse and better.
Literally haven't played Trap Team since launch, cant wait to play it again, I'll probably do a ranking of the games at some point. I was also thinking of doing a video ranking the levels in each game, because the next video is not gonna be the trap team ranking.
srry but the research in this vid is very lackluster and has alot of misinformation and should have had more time to cook and get the proper testing done for the skylanders,i love his other vids but this one is fine,but is missing vital info for skylanders and seems very rushed,dymatia should reach out the community for extra info,theres nothing wrong with asking the community for info and can lead to overall better and more well researched vid

For all the games before Imaginators you can use the shoulder buttons for attacks so that isn’t a problem until Imaginators
If I am not mistaken, they didn’t make attacks go slower but rather every time you hit an enemy it slows down. Seriously, try hitting nothing with Terrafin and then hit training dummies in Swap Force, you will see the slowness.

that would make sense, I would assume they did that to make the hits seem more impactful but since enemies don't stagger it really just hurts a lot of skylander's potential

He's good in ssa and giants (normal mode and below only though). But he's pretty ass in swap force (nightmare mode)
trap shadow isn't as bad as people think. he can actually attack with his primary while being invisible
Is it me or did they break Prism Break's crystal drop? I remember it being able to deal ridiculous damage in giants but just... not working in Swap Force. The crystals would just disappear on enemies.
it does feel really janky. Not helped by enemies huge HP pools, and sometimes the crystals do phase through the floor. Really should have increased the hitbox size of the crystals

@@MrSmashySmash I have no idea if enemies have more HP on higher difficulties, or if they're just like that. In Giants enemies did crazy damage but didn't have that much HP so it was kinda balanced and I never played Trap Team or Superchargers on anything higher than hard because I didn't really like them enough to replay them.

Doomstone is.......... Definitely flawed but if you play him very specifically he can put in work, he's a crowd control gremlin, shield is ironically his best skill 1. Anyone that attacks you is instantly stunned, perfect for a charge up smack 2. It can reflect projectiles, turning them green and launching a stun projectile back the opponent. The best part is you don't need to upgrade the shield path, you only need it to stun anyways. Bottom STONE is kinda garbage, top upgrade path makes the circle do more damage, the other path with the projectiles is...... Fun I guess but they do 12 damage. It's not great but it's manageable
I think dune bug is actually one of the best skylanders in this game if you play him right. His secondary attack is like a waayyy better version of magna charge with throwing bros off cliffs
Skylanders superchargers has a jet-vac variant that can trhow enemies of cliffs too

It’s nice to see skylanders like punk-shot and roller brawl actually have good things to be said about them on a tier list, I personally think roller brawl should have been top of B but I think they were alright placements.

literally playing Spyros Adventure right now and the difference is night and day between the 2 versions
apart of me hates to admit it but prism break in swap force just isnt the same, prism break s2 in giants was peak of prism break, on the second attack path you can spam those prisms and use a speed hat to make up for his lack of it, along with the charged shot working with or without the prisms (if you doubt it just try beating nightmare mode on giants with only prism break, youll thank me when the arkeyan juggernaut tries to shoot your prisms instead of you)

Dude, Dune bugs ball attack can ALSO knock enemies off the edge.
But it’s not as effortless with magma charge or slobber tooth
I’d like to point out for trigger happy that his blast attack still harms spinning enemies and so far shatters the shield to the beginning enemies
I’m still testing others, but I feel like that should be noted
scratch is arguably the strongest Skylander in swap force. She can solo nightmare mode no problem and has by far and away the best damage output of any character in this game (ruby path). The only characters you can kind of make a case for being better is either cynder or roller brawl because of how mobile both of them are and therefore can also solo nightmare exceptionally easily too. The don't deal anything close to her dps though. there are some majorly shitty takes in this video I have to say.

the base health and damage got increased on everything in this game and also level 20 Skylanders is the max level. They are not buffs the stat system just got changed in this game with higher hp and damage on Skylanders and enemies

I really want to critisize the fact that the tier list is based much more on raw power this time, but also, it's freakin Swap-Force we're talking about ! All the game feels like an arena battle, so I guess it's fiting.
Raw power is the only objective factor in skylanders.

Camo is extremely good against almost every boss in giants, especially Robokaos which is usually not an easy boss. He's also very good against some bosses of Trap Team by cheesing some phases, such as Wolfgang, Golden Queen, he's one of the only kinda consistent answers against Wii U Tae Kwon Crow (with Loop, Rise, Rouser or Shroomboom) and he's also very good against Trap Team Kaos because he can heal very efficiently in between attacks, especially on hard (same for Krypt King).
Rattle Shake transforms Wolfgang into a sitting duck with his turret that slows down enemies, making him pretty free even on nightmare, and he breaks Dr. Kranckase in the same way, making him completely free. It also works against every boss that run on your face, especially Eye Five. (Also, Rattle Shake's INSANE bulk makes him the best swap skylander by FAR, even though his damage output isn't crazy, it's extremely clutch on the turret sections of Swap Force.)
Swarm should be higher. Probably not S, but he isn't hit as hard as the other giants when the game isn't designed around his kind.

I respect your opinion, but Doom Stone I believe is actually a great Skylander, especially in battle mode as he can block attacks and re direct ranged attacks.

I don’t Like Dune Bug either; especially compared to the other magic additions to swap force. But you can trap enemies in his Ball an throw them off cliffs. That at least should put him a Little Bit higher. It is not as satifying or as easy to pull off like it is with Magna charge But still.

Free ranger’s blade path is better in my opinion, you do 25 damage for each hit, finishing damage is 100, AND you can move and it only takes like a second to charge, he deserves to be higher, the lightning path is kinda disappointing tbh

I too am a fan of Smolderdash, and I agree hold hardedly with Roller Brawl, I think she’s cute too, and I like that she deals out smooches as an attack. Food Fight is also va’d by Billy West. your logic is so inconsistent you put flashwing and star strike in high tiers because they can reflect projectiles when DOOM STONE DOES THE SAME THING. HOW IS DOOM STONE WORSE THAN HOOT LOOP BRO HE SUCKS
reflecting projectiles is a nice boon, if they didn't have it they'd still be top tier. also the reflection is in a circle around them and not a shield that makes you move slower and only deflects in the front.
@@Dymastia you forget that doom's top half is a.. top half that can be swapped with every other bottom half leading to cool and unique combos. honestly you should have ranked the tops and bottoms separately because they're essentially 2 different characters and swapping is their main gimmick like pair up doom with something like blade, charge, jet, or ranger, and the possibilities just multiply like crazy
@@SkinnyMood27 pairing Doom with any other bottom half that's good wouldn't really affect his placement. also another reason the halves aren't ranked separately is because the bottom half is basically just movement speed and one attack.
@@Dymastia that might be true about most bottom halves, but some are obviously better than others. some favor attacks rather than movement, and vice versa. being able to give a top half exactly what it needs is a good feature and honestly doom is not even that bad. like you have good damage if you wait even just a little bit to charge the column up. or don’t even charge it at all. and blocking all damage and reflecting projectiles is pretty cool on a top half that you can pair with anything. shield path definitely still sucks so you should go for column clubber path at all costs. call me biased, but you’re sleeping on peak. characters like fire kraken or trap shadow are so incredibly weak compared to doom stone
