@@f.e.r.t Mine is high ISO with the r11 model. Meaning its display is showing an image quality brighter than what you'd pick up with the naked eye outside of the night vision setting. But its got about a 12 inch eye relief and a 1.5 inch screen. So dont expect to helmet mount it without serious DIY as its meant to be more of a camera with a viewfinder kind of setup. If youre not using it as a camera its just ok to Surveil as a fixed 5x monocular with a long eye relief. I used the Night vision function to find my cat in my backyard in pitch black for practice and it worked. But extremely limited FOV with the lens its got in it. I have a question for you, on Amazon they have another version of this for 79.00 . . . It’s called Kinka night vision monocular, is this the exact same unit just a different name on it ??
Yep. I got a PVS-14 clone, for $260. (brand name is Canis Latrans, and after I bought mine I found others new for ~$165). It's crystal-clear, mostly high-impact plastic and aluminum body, displays high-hertz, and mounts to both helmet mounts and to my rifle via a standard pvs-14 rifle mount (mine is a Sightmark slide-to-side). I'll have to use silicone or get some fingernail polish to waterseal it, and a battery-delete kit can eliminate the 2 AA batteries, plus I already got a working test with a 17.6 amp-hour battery pack, running through a voltage regulator to the optic. It only draws ~.312 to .342 amps, so that translates (average) to 17.6 hours x ~3 which is 53 hours. It was cool AF to mount it to my ballistic helmet, but it was just too awesome having it on my 10.5". :)
Sorry, wait. A PVS-14 clone, meaning a PVS-14 chassis for $260? Or are you implying you also got a photon amplification tube and a clone chassis for $260 and saw others for $165? For this price point I'd assume a CMOS web camera with the IR filter removed, which is what OP is talking about. But actual amplification tubes cost $1K+ for factory rejects from Russia, to $30K for a factory pass from America or above for acceptable or above standards (i.e. no defect, or milspec). Are we talking about the same equipment?
@@bashkillszombies Sorry bro. digital night vision is whats hot now. They make PVS-14 look like blurry black and white dog water.Youre outclassed. But theyre civilian unobtainium.
Bought one, using the second code. I'm liking it! It is no where near as good as one for several thousand dollars. But it's more than worth it's price. The passive is less the "meh", but I wouldn't expect it to. It's IR though is really good. This isn't for tactical situations because of the the screen. Might buy another one.
I ordered one of these from the Friday deals vid. Received it yesterday. Returning it today. I didn't find the screen very clear. Just didn't work for me. Keep 'um comin'.
If you have a old camera take out the red filter in the front lense and get a ir light. All camera and video recorder can be night vision for cheap.👍👌✌️💯🥂😉
I still have my PVS-14's from the Army that I never signed a RFI hand receipt for from Afghanistan I kept. I can get a full nights use from a set of 123 bats.
Just like the Taliban, they never signed a receipt for NVGs - US left 16,000+ for the Taliban. Unknown of the types of NVGs that were “given” to the Taliban, but the GAO stated over 16k are now in the hands of the Taliban.
How sensitive and useful is it with ambient lighting? Does it require the illuminator to really be useful? An illuminator will give you away big time to anyone else around with NVGs on.
Just bought mine. Without the IR illuminator, it's just an image intensifier (fine for dusk & low light usage.) Only when the IR illuminator is switched on, does it become a near-IR viewer. Works really well. However, there's got to be a drawback at this low cost : you're not getting a tough rubber armoured metal casing that's drop-proof & rain-proof ! The case is a lightweight plastic that, if dropped, will break. Excellent IR monocular - just treat it very gently! Great review - thank you.
Can you put together like a simple little shroud so the light from the screen does illuminate the viewer’s face? And are there infrared light bulbs you can exchange for your front porch lamp?
I bought this camera on Amazon through your link. I'm having a weird issue where when IR mode is activated there are some serious scan lines visible in the monitor and videos/photos. Any idea what this might be or how to fix it? I have tried various resolutions and have it set to 60hz. Thanks in advance.
Great video but my 4k IP cameras w/IR can display much clear and further in black & white or full color display at night on large 4k monito or tv screen.
How do I zoom out more with this camera? I just bought one but it seems to be still super zoom in and using the zoom in and zoom out button don’t work.
I have bought one, and have done the same question in other videos or forums with no answers. I'm planning to make a modification myself, by unscrew the lens and fixing a thread of M42 to exchage the lens, I think would worth it because the sensor is very good, and the videos are very clear. I will let you know if it works !
I just received mine today thinking I would be able to do what you're describing. The gun is really blurry because the focus is 10+ feet in front of you. It's also not the kind of monocular you hold up close to 1 eye. Imagine a small tv screen not glass that you look into. It could be done if you were stationary but you're not going to clear your house. It's best use is scanning a field at night.
Why would that matter in less your a peeping Tom and don't won't to be seen by people any animal is not going to care they usually look in to the light that's why it's illegal to spot light hunt for animals and most places at night it's illegal to hunt.🤭👍👌✌️💯🥂
