- Eesti Energia AS makes oil and electricity by using the oil shale. It is first ripped loose and pushed to the pile by bulldozer. The transported with offhighway trucks to power plant and oil segregation.

My father operated heavy equipment all his life in the oilfield. He operated side booms, loaders, graders, maintainers, track hoes, Bull dozers etc. of all sizes and makes. His machinery of preference was a Komatsu
Not many folks get to experience that fresh new bulldozer smell…👍🏻
Komatsu make a great product, but if you consider the maintenance over 10 years Caterpillar equivalent will probably be move expensive to start but cheaper in the long term

@@UnknowableAbsolute that depends on dealer service and parts, and how long you will run the machine (Total hours ) My money would still go on a Komatsu for long term ownership. But maybe your Cat dealer is stronger ?

it's like my friends, I've been working with a GD655-5 Motor Grader for six years, recently I'm working with another new GD655-5, I have a TH-cam channel, where I bring GD as the flagship of my office. The fact that saddened me is that Komat'su never even said hello, or anything like that, not even the representative who owns the brand flag. Next year we will acquire 5 more graders and given the inertia of Komat'su we will give preference to Caterpillar, CASE and New Holland! Congratulations to you all 🤝👍
More horsepower, heavier, and more tractive effort than all existing Caterpillar D11 models. Large mining operators appear to prefer Komatsu. Just was up in Nevada at the copper mine near Ely. That is a large Komatsu customer.

We had those at our mine, nice dozer except it had so much power the transmission wouldn't stay tight. Tried everything couldn't keep it from working loose!
Pat we had the Dash 2s. Pumps were at HD785-3 specs putting out 1050 HP. Fck could that baby push. Never had anything fail on them due to the extra HP but they were not in a mine or on hard rock.
Ya they do push! That was a few yrs ago I went under ground they might have fixed the problem by now. Yes very hard rock!

Cheers for this video, is it now the case that Komatsu no longer produce the D575? Has the D475 been increased in size to operate where to D575 would have been used but in a "smaller" more economic packege?
the D575-A3 SD is still 30 tonne bigger than this

No comparison to a d11. Drive a cat and a komatsu and you prefer a cat every day of the week.

Hopefully they are able to make oil shale a viable resource. I live in western u.s.a. , and many ideas have been tried, but the shale is still sitting there. Best of luck. Any more videos on oil shale?
Estonians have been mining oil shale since the 1920s. Estonia owns the two largest oil shale fired power stations in the world and is the second largest producer of shale oil in the world (behind China).

In Okla you hit shale before the sand. Oil sand is the oil for shallow Wells. The shale is a sponge like porous rock that holds oil & can be processed...

That's what most people call a bulldozer but that's so big it probably registers better as a planet mover ! whatever stuck in mud you can pull it out with this easily , on the other hand if that huge machine stuck ...well let's hope it doesn't otherwise there isn't much you can do about it unless you have access to those huge dump truck they use in mines ...LOL

Oil shale does have its recovery problems. First would be the amount of potable water used to extract it .
