Thanks so much for posting this! I love hearing the little bit of commentary before the song. I first heard Glen Hansard during Eddie's solo tour in Detroit. This song was amazing. It's so nice to see another great performance out of these two!
I saw Eddie Vedder in Memphis, TN on 11/21/2012. Glen Hansard was his "guest" and I expected him to do a couple songs with Eddie. "NOT SO." Glen did a complete set. WOW! Talk about a 2 for 1. Eddie was fantastic to say the least. They did the last 3 songs together. Society, Falling Slowly and finished with Hard Sun. The show was 4 hours long. I'll remember those 4 hours even when the Alzheimers kicks in.
My god!! Eddie has one of the most distinct voices, along with Chris Cornell, of our generation! Those men are as one of a kind as Eric Burdon of The Animals, and John Fogerty of Creedence! Wow! Great performance!
Glen, 4:54 onward: I love to see established musicians do a special performance like this and get that giddy happy look where you can tell they are having the time of their life...
This is amazing. It's just so real and organic. Two supremely talented dudes singing their hearts out. If you watch other video clips of this performance you'll see Eddie check his left palm for the lyrics mid-song. Made me love him even more. I so wish I could have been there to see this live.
i always thought glen hansard and the frames were class but thought he let himself down with his oscar speech. having said that hes still class and im glad i found this little gem. and what about eddie?! the man turns up everywhere singing everything and he loves every minute of it. a true legend in every way possible and i hope glen hansard can be mentioned in the same way some day. us irish need an antidote to bono
I've seen EV play once in a big concert and GH play many times in small intimate gigs. So cool to see these two great singers/songwriters together. That comment about you can see the respect between them. so true and so cool. so positive.
Just absolutely love this song. Saw the movie "Once" years ago with my husband and saw the show in dublin a few years ago and it was amazing. These 2 do an amazing job with it.!
