This video just popped up in my feed, and your channel description convinced me to subscribe! I love to plan, too, and don't always follow through 😅! I do put a lot of pressure on myself, especially for TH-cam, and that's gotta stop! Lovely gardens and chickens!!

Thank you so much! Yes, I feel like we are our own worst critics - and that takes away all the fun! Hope you have fun planning. :)

Yes! It grew so much in one year! I didn't overwinter this one, as my end-of-season prep got derailed, but I definitely want to try it in the future. It was so big and dramatic and I am now obsessssedddd.

I’m just learning about Iris and the one thing I noticed about yours is they may be planted too deep, I did the same and no blooms! I researched and found you need to leave part of the tuber above soil level, yours looked like your tuber was completely covered?
I enjoy your videos the way you do them, really interesting and your laid back nature suits me just fine ❤️

Thanks Brenda! And yes, good catch - I did bury the rhizomes a bit. You're totally right, they do need to get baked a little bit. I was worried about the squirrels continuing to dig them up, so I will probably uncover the rhizome a bit in the spring. Definitely want to see those blooms! Thanks for watching :)

      Your garden is beautiful!
Love that you are posting the way your garden looked in October even though it is almost January! It makes me think of what we have to look forward to! Would love to see more videos when spring comes!

@@ShelleyWalton thank you Shelley! It definitely helps me remember what there is to look forward to when winter is very grey and cold. But that means lots of time for planning 🤓
