In 1826, John Walker, a chemist in Stockton on Tees, discovered through lucky accident that a stick coated with chemicals burst into flame when scraped across his hearth at home. He went on to invent the first friction match. Until the first half of the nineteenth century, the process by which fire was created was slow and laborious. Walker's friction match revolutionised the production, application and the portability of fire. Walker sold his first "Friction Light" on the 12th April 1827 from his pharmacy in Stockton on Tees. Walker's first friction matches were made of cardboard but he soon began to use wooden splints cut by hand. Later he packaged the matches in a cardboard box equipped with a piece of sandpaper for striking. He was advised to patent his matches but chose not to and, as a result, Samuel Jones of London copied his idea and launched his own "Lucifers" in 1829, an exact copy of Walkers "Friction Lights".

I like how you do similar triggers just like how you do it on the farm, on how you tap/scratch in trees, the way you picked up some dirt, the sound of your steps, the sound coming from the friction of gravel and sand, the friction of mic and leaves 🥺 I can now sleep peacefully 💤
If I saw someone walking around my campus (if I were in one lol) filming an asmr video, I'd dead ass ask if I can follow them around so I can experience the tingles first hand. I love the idea of live asmr, someone should open up a salon or something like that with the service of providing live tingles.

I knew the thumbnail looked familiar! Great video. Brought back some fun memories of como. I can confirm that campus security does not like people riding the tiger or jumping in the fountain lol. An ASMR video in Ellis would be really cool during the summertime since it’s usually empty.

Last night, while my niece Jacque and I waited for a shared meal to start, she asked me to show her something on my iPad. I flipped it open, and there was Aaron at the #1 spot. Jacque pressed the thumbnail and became entranced by Aaron’s tapping on objects around the Mizzou campus. When I suggested earphones for a second viewing, Jacque eagerly accepted. Omg I study in Germany and my campus is in compare to yours very ugly. Yeah we have water too but yours is clear, ours is dark and dirty. We have no flowers only trees and it's in all very very dark and deep and not so wonderful and lighten as your campus.
