I have a set of Sapphire MK2 ,been through so many different used speakers over the years. Epos ,Proac ,Kef ,B&W and the Royds have always been my favorite.Keepers for sure.
I have to say I like the slightly forward vocal on the Sapphires a touch better... But the highs are a lot more open, like that cymbal, on the Conistion R.. Love that song... It really opens up if you can find it vinyl!
huge difference, here you can hear how they sounded before the change th-cam.com/video/OLAdDUSPrUc/w-d-xo.html , quality parts can enhance the sound of any speaker, before that they sounded a little deaf and without a good common scene
A bit of an unfair comparison without dustcaps (more mechanical air noise... TSP, cone break-up modes and dispersion pattern different than intended by the designer) but apart from the different woofer drivers, the two sets of speakers seem identical, right?! BTW, the recording quality of the comparison was very good.
Royd Sapphire from the factory is without a dustcap , recording quality is 24 bit 96 khz (the original audio I upload) but youtube hardly maintains such high quality so i dont know what quality is coming to you

👍nicely done, both speakers sound great but I prefer the Jantzen Silver Z cap upgrade👍

Royd coniston R. Jantzen silver z-cap. Very good!
I think i'd like the Coniston R's in the short term, and the Sapphires in the long term.
Edit three years later: I still prefer the Conistons.
Z-cap seems less forward and more subtle.
So which one do you think is the winner?
Oо, good vintage sound!
What's the song name in the intro?
Hi, After replacing the capacitor, what has changed in the speaker sound?

Sapphire FOR SURE
Oba zestawy grają bardzo dobrze wręcz identycznie te litra R minimalnie graj lepiej
Polecam lepsze słuchawki.
меня Sapphire больше зацепили
Конистон слишком яркие. Хотя они наверху стоят, может из-за этого, х.з.
