This video is the second installment of a two-part video series for the Artisans of Peace Retreat, hosted by Campus Ministry September 28-October 4, 2020. As part of this retreat, which explores the intersection of art, creativity, spirituality, peace and justice, we visited the art studio of one of Villanova’s own “artisans of peace” - Sr. Helen David Brancato, IHM. The first video is the tour of her recent “Black Lives Matter” exhibition. In this second video, Michelle Sherman (Campus Minister for Retreats) and Greg Blanc (Campus Ministry Intern) interview Sr. Helen David. Watch as she shares her take on “Artisans of Peace,” representation, confronting racial stereotypes, and using her art to honor human dignity and dismantle divisions based on racial lines.
