The drill looked great. I don't think the qualifier at the end was needed, but understand why you felt it was. Drills build skills, and drillers are killers.
Why do you move your hands and have a unique body movement everytime you kick? just curious I know the thai drop the hand to help with power, the dutch kind of keep it there I guess fro defense. I have always tried to do it the dutch way but forget and sometimes do it thai style.
It's just a classical way of kicking. They say it comes from fighting on ships and needing to lean for balance. I don't know-- It can help with balance and sometimes even transition speed. Dealer's choice although I wouldn't tend to do this in sparring unless my range was perfect.
