    Thank you for this message, I came back to church 2 years ago and had not gone to confession in close to 20 years. It helped me find more peace in my life and now I go almost every week cause I examine my life more and see things in my life differently. I understand sin more and what I once thought was not sin I see is and how I justified my actions. I also see how the devil told me lies and tempted me. I pray for all people to go to confession while they can and still have breath. Jesus loves everyone so much. And every soul is important to him, even a lost sinner like me when I was away for so long. God bless everyone on here. All glory to God 🙏🏼

      @@Perririri , Late Father Stefano Gobbi was an Italian Priest who for 25 years received messages from Our Blessed Mother for Priests.
      These messages are compiled in a book " Marian Movement of Priests ! "
      I read the entire messages and was amazed at these all important wondrous messages that should be read by all.
      For example one message to Priests says " If in mortal sin go quickly to Confession " Then another general message says " The prayers of the sick are almost Sacramental " This latter message has changed my thinking towards my wife. She has undergone five major surgeries in the last 20 years and now is very weak but still doing the house work , cooking, laundry etc and of course the servant helps. Moreso she is totally in prayer without cease. I remember reading in Medjugorie News long back of an elderly Lady who stopped praying as she thought : What is the use of my prayers at this stage ? "
      Hence she reduced her prayers to bare minimum. Then she has a dream where she sees a blonde drowning in a lake of fire ! Alarmed she noticed Jesus standing next to her who then told her : Give her your hand and gently pull her out !
      She balked but Jesus repeated and said Fear not !
      She then extended her hand and rescued her and pulled her out ! Jesus then told her this is what your Prayers Do !.....and the dream ended.
      Thereafter she started saying her original Prayers.
      I too then realized Salome's prayers are having the same effect and do the same rescue acts hence fully support her in kindness, love etc !! I too pray similarly.

    Tonight was the first time I have been to Mass in 15 years . I was scared .Shaking .. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer over two years ago and not expected to live through the summer of 2020 .Though through some Miracle I am still here . Tonight I had to go no matter what .I said to myself " The devil will scream and will fight me to the door" ..It's been too long and I want to come Home . Cancer has been a blessing . Experiencing it I believe is Jesus calling me back , to repentance and communion . Pray for me

    I've also had a long battle with myself about a certain sin and confession.
    When this sin started (I was still a child), I didn't know it was a sin, I thought it was okay. When I found out what the Church says about it, I tried to rationalise it and say that's not correct... then I accepted the fact that it's sinful but still wasn't able to force myself to go to confession, I was too ashamed to tell this to anyone. It took me a few years to do that. After that I still struggled with this sin and didn't take the offense seriously.. a few months ago I had a sort of breakdown and was crying almost all day about it. The next day I went to confession without even having the usual shame hold me back. This was around the week before Easter.
    I'm much more hopeful now that with His grace, I can overcome this sin. 💛🕊

    Several months ago, I found this video of yours accidentally on TH-cam. I was scrolling through my YT feed and then I came across this very testimony about confession. Back then, I was really struggling whether or not to go to confession, and then I came across with this. Maybe it was really God's plan all along for me to find this video. I wasn't finding anything about confession, it was offered to me by God. And by His Grace with the help of this video, I was able to conquer my fear and doubt in confession. Thank you, Bro. Gabriel for this video. I will continue to pray for you!

    When I was struggling with trauma, depression and mental health issues I started to rebel. I hung out and dated bad guys, and they convinced me that I should stop going to mass bc I was a hypocrite, and should only go to church when I am good because I am not deserving of mass or God. I believed it. So I stopped going to mass and that made me fall into worst sin and getting worst. With Gods grace I took control of myself and was moved to go to mass every Sunday again and go to confession monthly. That’s when I started changing. The devil did not want me to heal. Regular mass, sacarament and confession will heal and move changes in your life! Don’t let the world poison your healing.

    Some religions believe you can confess to anyone but one can not do this and receive absolution for again it is God we offend and it is God we should confess too!

    I don't normally go to confession but I do confess my sins Jesus Christ I have a regular conversation with him on a daily or directly after I confess then he goes before the Father on my behalf. I don't have any problem with anyone going to confess their sins to someone I was raised Roman Catholic I left the Catholic Church I am now just a follower of Christ. I think classification of a certain denomination makes us indifferent to each other and I think that it separates us where we need to come together. I also think that it's important to note that Jesus Christ had said you do not call anyone else Father except for The Father GOD. I'm not trying to create waves or anything else if we're quoting scripture we need to quote the entire scripture and not just the ones that helped us out cuz it is true where two or more established a thing it shall be establish not only here on Earth but also in the heavens. I think the Pharisees and the Sadducees got lost in Tradition and that's one of the reasons why Jesus when he came here was so opposed to them because of their outwardly appearance and not their inwardly desire. Not only that but putting unbearable weight on the shoulders of many not being able to bear the weight of there own sins and Judging others with partiality among the many other great deal of things that was mentioned throughout the New Testament and you seen in the and the first Covenant before completion in Jesus Christ. More than anything we need to know that just confessing your sin is not enough it clearly states every time he healed somebody and or told them that they were healed or forgiven to sin no more else worst befall you. You must confess your sin and then choose to trust in Jesus and him alone. If Jesus was a parachute and you jumped out of a plane without him though you knew he existed and looked at him but you didn't put them on AKA not having a fleshly mind but the mind of the spirit walking in spirit you would die when you hit the ground regardless of whether or not you believe he was there for the demons even believe and shudder at the thought that GOD and Jesus Christ in the Holy Spirit are ONE. We need to trust and believe that Jesus is with us at all times not just when we need him or snap our fingers and think that we can call on him because we're in trouble. He is not a butler but An Almighty holy God or to use the term correctly set apart God which means he is higher than us. If we need him here sent us a helper the Holy Spirit call on him when you're being tempted or tried and Trust believe that he will redeem you and save you in your trouble and in your temptation. For God temps no one and he is untenable. So this also means that when you come to judgment He is not able to be bribed by Good Works or social standing or any self-righteous thing he is the same yesterday and he is the same today and will be the same tomorrow. Read the scripture don't see what you're not supposed to do that's the wrong way to read scripture read what father says to do that is the proper way to read scripture and the only way to please God is to do the will of the father not to try to find loopholes in life what you can get away with I love you all from the bottom of my heart every brother and sister in Christ is my dearest brother and my dearest sister so if I've offended any of you I'm truly sorry. So bless you brothers and sisters may Jesus Christ in the Father GOD bless you and keep you may his face shine upon you and be gracious to you and yours peace be with you in Jesus Christ name Amen

      AMEN! All of scripture is telling us how badly Our Father wants our hearts... ALL of our hearts, not just the "religious" parts of our lives, not just at the"time to go to church and say our prayers" times but at ALL times.

      Catholism is not a denomination. Protestism are made up of denomination sects. If you were raised Roman Catholic then you should know this.

    • @thomasjanellemarcus3287
      @thomasjanellemarcus3287 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ worthwhile: I appreciate the comment brother. While you're correct you're also incorrect because the Catholic Church considers itself so it's not an outsider's point of view it's declaration from itself that it is not a denomination but the original. The separating itself further from the other sects. In declaration that it is better or came first. But the original traditions of the original followers (Talmidim in Hebrew) of Jesus Christ or Yeshua ha'Mashiach AKA YHWH is salvation or saves The anointed are a far cry from where they are now. Example: If your not a member of the church even if you attend every Sunday your lesser (you have to pay to become a member) try being baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ without being a member you can't...... in the words of Jesus Christ himself you have received without paying give without being paid. Matthew 10:8. Like I said I'm not trying to start an argument but the Catholic church is a sect and itself it just declares itself the original but I read Hebrew and Greek and a lot Gets Lost in Translation and tradition I don't consider myself the original either I just want to be a good Christian and speak the truth. I love you brothers and sisters the Peace of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ be with you and yours amen.

    • @worthwhilediscussion
      @worthwhilediscussion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thomasjanellemarcus3287 It's not about paying to be a member. It's about all Christians believing in the same exact thing as Christ and His Apostles taught during the early establishment of the Church which most protestant sects refuse to obey and believe in. If we can't agree on the same things that Christ Himself taught then it may not make since for a protestant to attend a Catholic church yet desires to participate in its sacraments. That's not how it works bro. The Roman Catholic church claims to be the original Church Christ established because they adhere to ALL His Gospels, teachings and traditions not just certain ones that are more suitable and comforting but ALL imcluding some traditionsof the old testament.

    • @thomasjanellemarcus3287
      @thomasjanellemarcus3287 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @ Worthwhile: True to a point there are over 600 gospels left out of scripture in its self, but I see where your coming from I am grateful that you believe so strongly in your church 😊 hopefully the people not the building. Very few from any sect. Would give up all they had to go teach, heal, Comfort, and share the gospel with all so reading out of a book doesn't make you the original followers I'm sorry it just doesn't happen or we just have a false covert of a heart 😪 this is even hard for me to hear but it's truthful. The church should be supportive of everyone who walks through the door money, time, prayer, answering questions about gospels even if it conflicts with there own beliefs but WE don't do that so it's a far cry from the original followers. You are knowledgeable and very driven Use this in the fight for lives cast your nets friend you are a fisherman.

    Jesus saves us baptized with The Holy Spirit and Holy Water from original sin. Sins committed after Baptism have to be confessed, we have to receive absolution and serve our Penance to be forgiven by God. That’s why He instituted the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). 2 Cor 5:18-20, Jn 20:21-23, Mt 16:18-19, 18:17-18.
    If we die in mortal sin, we chose to be separated from God. He honors our choices for eternity. There’s no hope left.
    If we die in Venial sin, we have to be purged of it to enter Heaven, as nothing impure can enter. Purgatory is a complete cleansing of our souls on the way to Heaven.
    1 Cor 3:15, Mt5:25-26, 1 Pet 3:18-20, 1 Jn 5:16-17, Jn 19:11, Rev 21:27, 2 Macc 12:43-46

      @Zippitydoodah We don't deny Jesus died for us in able to repent from our sins, in fact you wouldn't even know this without Christ's only Church, the Catholic Church outside of which there is no salvation.
      Christ gave men the ability to forgive sin, we see that in John 20:23 and through apostolic succession bishops (and priests under a bishop) have a duty to follow Christ and His Church's teachings.
      We also know that the Church is the pillar and foundation of all truth, the Church says the normative means for Christ to forgive your sins is through a priest. When we confess to Christ through His priests it is an act of obedience to Christ Himself.
      We believe in an act of perfect contrition but this is not the normative means to confess and when you have the opportunity you have the obligation to be obedient to Christ and His bride the Church by going to confession.
      You are in error, following theology from the 1500's, these protestant heretics voluntarily broke from Christ's Body and started teaching their own made up theology which included no sacraments (outside of Lutherans, Anglicans and a few others). And no wonder these fake "pastors" don't believe in the sacraments, they have no authority and their calling to teach is not only illegitimate but heresy.
      Repent and come to the same Church St. Ignatius of Antioch and other early Christians claimed to be apart of, the Catholic Church.
      The Church began on Pentecost, not in the 1500's.

    I am a catholic priest. My dears, do never be ashamed to confess your sins, whatever they are. Remember that a priest is a sinner just like you, and do never think that your sin is the worst possible: consider rather that priests hear always something worst than yours. Trust me. Usually people think only about sin of sex...of course they must be confessed, but what about hatred? What about lies, betrayals of partner, filthy language... Go confess and change your life, this is what really matters.

      @@Rabbit19964 I know you were addressing it to the priest, but my understanding is when done with an understanding it is a sin, and a conscious decision to do it anyway, then its a grave sin. And it usually accompanies pornography which is also sinful. I would definitely recommend you confess especially before taking the eucharist, which is a sin to do in a state of mortal sin.
      The bad stuff aside. I've found praying the rosary daily greatly helps to avoid those kind of sins. And in my experience the grace acts so quickly the temptation becomes more of a nuisance easily dismissed, and far less tempting or difficult to avoid. Our Lady will help you with the graces necessary and inspire in you a desire to be holy. Our Immaculate Mother will respond to your request and inspire you. And its important to go to confession regularly so that we are able to receive those graces in full and not be closed off from the Holy Spirit. The sacrament of confession itself imparts graces to help us avoid sin.

      @Brian 2019 Yes I know sins have a spiritual weight, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say that every single sin is an actual demon in our bodies commanding us, if you’re talking in literal terms. If that were true, I’d have thousands and thousands of demons in my body commanding me, and though I probably get tempted by demons like everyone else, I’m clearly not possessed. Yes demons tempt and influence us to sin, but they aren’t the sins themselves. The only spirit living inside my body the Spirit of God, because God is gracious and will stay with his child, despite the fact I have tons of moral errors I haven’t confessed yet. I believe possession and demons inside people is real, and that demons do cause their hosts to sin and can use their sin as an opportunity to enter them, but what you describe is wayyy over the top.

      I am a naturally anxious person and I tend to feel anxious even after leaving confession. Is something wrong with me? I have confessed my anxiety and the fact that I over analyze my confessions feeling like I messed up or forgot something. I wish this did not happen.

    • @katpage9378
      @katpage9378 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Molly-sv9yn Yes something is wrong with you: the anxiety you feel. But I wouldn’t feel anxious about the anxiety because that’s just adding to it, and totally unnecessary, you know?
      And plus, we all have things wrong with us. Pretty much everyone has some sort of emotional or mental issues. I doubt anyone’s mentally perfect. I have anxiety issues, anger issues, and pride issues too. And sometimes I think I’m straight up delusional lol
      I’m trying to get better of course, but it’s a process, and I’ll never reach perfect.
      This helps me with anxiety: just calming myself down by realizing there’s nothing really to worry about that’s worth all this worry. And the anxiety you’re feeling is just a feeling- it will pass, and everything is and will be okay. Anxiety is just an emotion which will go away, so imagine it gradually flowing away.
      When it comes to your specific worries about confession, countless people have forgotten something! I forget my sins all the time, and I’m sure none of my confessions are even close to perfect. That’s unideal of course, but completely normal. And God is very understanding, so I’m sure he gets it if you make a mistake. So also just reminding yourself everyone has slip ups, and so even if you did make a mistake, it truly isn’t a big deal at all. Just let the worry flow away. God is gentle and kind, and completely gets it, and that’s what matters.
      Matthew 11:28-30
      “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
      1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
      Sorry for the very long response, but anyway I hope this might help🙂 Remember you’re fine, you’re only human, and God (your truest Father and friend) is extremely loving and understanding, much more so than any human being on the Earth.

    I need to get back to confession. I love confession, it usually makes me feel better I used to go a couple times a week and would walk or uber since I didn't have a car until last year. I haven't gone in a couple weeks but as someone who struggles with addiction since middle school and is in therapy to help me, I need it.
    If i'm honest I got very frustrated with a priest in a confessional a couple months ago, I didn't show it obviously. He basically said how if I spend an hour with Jesus a day and fast from one thing a day, it's *impossible* to fall into mortal sin (as in my addiction).
    I used to spend hours a day in praying to Jesus in high school daily during my senior year. I skipped a social life in my senior year and skipped school to spend time with Jesus. My addiction was far worse then than it was during that confession. I smashed my most prized possession as an offering to God back then and I still very often deal with regret over it.
    To say I was infuriated after hearing that was an understatement. Especially since my addiction is quite literally triggered by being alone.
    Ever since that i've been in a faith crisis off and on to the point where I have contemplated leaving the church, stopped praying my daily chaplet and rosary and have basically backslid into how bad my addiction was years back. It was my fault and I regret allowing my anger at a priest who offered poor counsel to scare me away from confession like that and admitting defeat to my addiction.
    So thank you for the video. I will be returning to confession to a priest I trust as well as continuing therapy to crush this sin in my life. Most priests have been helpful and led me in confession to breaking my addiction for several months. Thank You and God bless.

The hardest part was watching as many walked through knowing that had taken grace for granted, just going through the motions with no real conversion even as adult Catholics. I don’t say this in judgment but rather in heartbreak for those who don’t understand or participate in weekly confession and truly believing in the Sacrament. This was a timely video for me!

      I think that’s very true. When you write them down you realise how many lore there are that are buried and that may or have come up in the confessional had you tried to remember them in the moment. Writing them helps to see the words written on paper and gives you time to reflect upon them and to let them sink in. It’s a great act of clearing of the conscience and a kind of prep work for before you go in to see the priest.

Shame over my sins kept me a prisoner. Everything changed in the hospital; a priest walked into my room, said I heard you're Catholic, do you want to talk, have confession, anointing of the sick, and receive the Eucharist? I nearly burst into tears then and there. I had been running and hiding my face from God for years, so He found me himself in the form of that priest. I have a question. Supposing you fall into the same sin again and again, not immediately, say, you go for nearly a year not committing the sin and then you slip up, is it right for the priest to be judgemental? I feel that taking away the confessional has created a lot of problems, especially for women confessing sins against the sixth commandment. In my culture, and I have faced this myself, there is a lot of judgement from the priest. One started yelling at me asking me if I'd had sex. Despite telling him I hadn't he went on and on and there was a line of people just behind me, and I'm pretty sure they heard him yelling at me. Another one had this shocked look on his face after telling me purposely to take off my mask during the pandemic. Instead of listening and giving me absolution, he began to lecture me and fault me for things I'd done unknowingly as a child. You have to admit these things also act on your mind and make you not want to go to Confession. However, I have personally felt the power of this sacrament and will not allow ill-informed and badly catechised priests stop me from receiving God's mercy. Please pray for me and these priests.

    I agree with most of this, except that too frequent confession is not good for a scrupulous person. I suffered and still suffer although not as bad with it. But a few priests helped me with the scruples. First, I had to stop confessing temptations, they are not a sin, stop confessing all my old sins out of fear the priest did not understand me correctly. Moreover, I had to change my concept of God and see God as a loving, welcoming father, not a legalistic scorekeeper in heaven that deducted points when I messed up. So now I try to space out my confessions. When life gets busy, I find myself going more. However, I tend to go maybe once a month, and at one point when I could feel the grace and starting following the counsel given me, I only went about 3 times a year. But what an incredible gift the sacrament is. I know many popes have had frequent use of the sacrament. John Paul II they said went a few times a week. Pope Francis admits he goes 2 times a month. However, one has to realize the incredible responsibility they bare, so frequent confession makes sense. But for a common person like me that frequent confession is probably not necessary. Just my thoughts!

    Thank you so much for this message. It actually confirms what my mum has been saying to me about keeping myself in a state of Grace. She has told me about the Three days of Darkness that has been predicted, and in order to light the blessed candle that will be only light available, one needs to be in a state of Grace. Your message just confirms the importance of that. Amen

    I think the greatest lie that comes into the mind of us Catholics is: God cannot forgive me.
    And sadly, not having faith in God's loving mercy can hinder you from being healed.

    This video wasn’t considerably relevant to me, until now where I feel the memory of a past sin which I can’t remember confessing previously on my mind which also trying to hold me back from going to confession because of some pride feeling which makes me feel embarrassed to say it out loud. Please Pray for me Gabriel, for your videos always inspire me and bring me comfort when I need it the most. Ave Maria ❤

    This is true I was under attack from a succubus until I went to confession I had a dream, and the demonic entities couldn't touch me. It was if I was in a glass bell and it couldn't get near me. 🙏🙏🙏🕊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

    I have hidden a serious sin in confession before my first communion(last week). The reason why I hid it because I didn't confess on a Church with a confessional, and there's people near and I'm afraid they'd hear it. I was confessing just at the last seat, and not on a room and some people pass by. I actually am feeling very bad about it until now. Thank you so much for this video it made me understand why I should confess properly without hiding some sins. I'll try my best to be able to go to the Cathedral to confess. I actually got sick when I got home after hiding a serious sin in the confessional. I should confess not for the fear of the effect of sin, but to be able to get better and closer to God. Please pray that I'll be able.

      You must confess that sin. Purposely Hiding a mortal sin is the grave sin of sacrilege. When you confess next mention you made a sacrilegious confession.

    Well, in my case is different. I go to confession every month at least or as much as I can and I kept encouraging my husband and children but they still don't wanna do it and I pray for it also. So, I guess I have to surrender it to God now.

      @@gabiafterhourscan you also please list the correct script for the confessional, ie; “bless me father for I have sinned, it has been X since my last confession and then the rest of what to say to the priest? It has been years since I went to confession but recently began going again, and I had forgotten what to say. But I simply told that to the priest and he gracefully guided me. And that’s fine, but I keep forgetting what the recitation is. They do have some of the prayers to say in the confessional on the wall but it’s not written in order, and is a bit confusing. I used to know what to say off by heart as a child! But I feel it is never too late to return to the blessed sacraments and do so with a full and sincere heart.
