hi mary, normally i don’t get super personal on the internet but i’ve been estranged from my mother for about a year now and some days it doesn’t affect me but others it’s very hard. you remind me so much of the good parts of her that i remember growing up without the bad parts that made me have to separate myself from her. it is very soothing and calming as a child who grew up in the south to watch your videos and have you remind me of the momma i never really had. best wishes to you.

I love your outfits! And dressing up is NOT a dying art! I still dress up (when I have the time and energy). I feel that through fashion, you can express your personality that way. People can see how creative and colorful you are as a person. So keep dressing up (when you feel like it, of course). Don't do it to impress anyone, but do it because it makes you happy. :)

You really put together great outfits! I had to install an app to help me out so I can try different combinations, otherwise I always reach for the same stuff.
Btw I love the idea of thrifting, it’s a great way to find treasures and it doesn’t add to the carbon footprint of the fashion industry because we’re not buying new 😊
About the transparent fabrics, also test it under a camera’s flash... I learned that the hard way, my black prom dress looked like tulle with the flash, but luckily I had a slip dress underneath 😂

You have such creative style! I just turned 30 and have been working on professional office attire. Coming from the west coast we are more casual, but now that i'm in the north east it is more important to dress nice.
Hi Mary, I have bad plantar fasciitis in both feet. I love my shoes from ortho feet, they are specifically tailored for plantar fasciitis, feel amazing and are surprisingly cute. I have their sneakers, ankle boots, and sandals. I’ve gotten compliments on the shoes from people who had no idea they were orthopaedic !

I love your style, love you appreciate thrift shopping. I am a lawyer and I buy lots of clothes at thrift stores. It is fun and I can get name brand stuff for a fraction of the price. You are imaginative and give me ideas of what to wear.
I’m about your age, and recently discovered arthritis in my big toes, plus tarsal tunnel syndrome (first misdiagnosed as plantar fasciitis). Had to quit my new job - standing long hours 😢 - but hopefully better things ahead. I like your positive and accepting attitude!

Also, I'm only 32 but I also have plantar fasciitis in one foot with a bone spur in the heel. Flat feet is no fun! I'm so jealous you can wear any sort of heel at all!!! My solution is running shoes from the minute I wake up until bedtime lol

I started my new job around the same time that you did. I tend to have what I call “my security blanket clothing.” I always want to wear a certain shirt, skirt, or blazer. My husband makes fun of me for kind of outfit repeating out of comfort. I’m going to take a page from your book and start outfit planning on Sundays. Then maybe I’ll push myself to wear more variety 😂
