It looks like a very vibrant, beautiful city. I have worked with a lot of Indians in several countries, they are friendly and hard working, seem like good people.
I grew up there and now live in Singapore. Mumbai has always been extremely lively and vibrant. It can overwhelm you if you aren't up for it. You either love it or you hate it. I haven't been there in over a decade, but I gather that it is quickly modernising which will certainly add a new twist to what's already a very colorful place.

Word of Caution: When traveling in India, it's advisable to exercise caution: refrain from purchasing items from street vendors, be discerning about who you engage with (regardless of their attire or speech), rely on information from your hotel reception or online sources, and negotiate when hiring auto-rickshaws or shopping. It's prudent not to pay the full price upfront for services, a practice that applies not only to foreign travelers but also to Indians traveling from other states. Please note: India's diversity can make travel challenging even for Indians moving between states or within a state. While not everyone in India is dishonest, due to its large population, encounters with unscrupulous individuals may be more frequent compared to other countries.

14 bucks for laundry in india... yes, you got scammed. usually they wanna charge you at least 3x the normal price. just don't talk to anyone, don't respond, don't smile, don't stop, don't follow anyone, don't trust anyone. yell and curse at rude people. stop being too nice zane!!
Oh my god I’m from the US where the average income is $25-30 an hour but how dare they charge me half an hour worth of my work? Kidding me an average US laundry run puts me down $40 for 1 lot of washing and drying sometimes. Seriously guys, cmon support the local economies of the countries you visit their hyped up prices are sometimes lower than prices in the US so you still get a bargain. 😏
@@alonshalit5778they actually did everything for me. Yes costed me $12 approx but they washed, dried, ironed the clothes and packed them neatly in a paper basket for me.
Zane, just stumbled upon your video. As many have already told you, you are living in the most touristy place in Mumbai. The street you walked from 10:21 onwards from Cafe Mondegar is known as Colaba market. It is a street market and vendors know how to deal (fleece) foreigners. If someone is being too friendly to you and not leaving your side, be very careful in this part of Mumbai, they definitely want to sell something to you that you don't want/need. Actually it applies to any street market around the world. I've personally seen a tourist been sold a cotton shawl as cashmere shawl for Rs. 1000 when we Indian's were buying it on next stand for Rs. 250. 21:05 - Kaju=cashew. And the nut within the Mango bite seemed to be almond. 7:59 $14 for laundry is too expensive. Per piece charge is expensive, there will be laundries where it is charged as per kilo. Hoping you do get some mango...though the season has just ended. Also, hope the monsoon doesn't dampen your spirits. Other recommendations for the Parsi cafe's are already with you. Njoy.
Again aunty $14 se zyada kamata hai vo per hour itna kya gir jaate unko sasta price dilwane ko? Rupee se 83x stronger hai vo dollar jisme vo $30 minimum ek ghante ka leta hai. Aadha ghanta ka kaam hi toh hai vo laundry fer bhi ro rah hai.
I was born and brought up in Mumbai. Great job at showcasing my hometown. Very disturbing to see how some people harassed you. It's always better to travel with a local friend for a much better experience.
Best way to hasle prices in india is as follows: For indian: Just 1/3 of whatever they say. If they ask for 300 you do 100 so you can buy it for 200. For foreigners and travllers: just 1/4 of whatever they say then bargain your way through half of their original price. Then just walk away and ask for the price you want to buy it for.
@@jhaybiebasco8529 but don't need to worry brother when travelling in India. Most people are good and friendly. Normal people will also approach because you are a foreigner but if any people start to converse with you about any shop or selling items like that you leave the place without speaking. Otherwise normal people will also approach in friendly manner. You can easily differentiate the people who approach you to take advantage and Normal people approach of curiosity, you can easily differentiate it.

Zane you should start doing giveaways with purchases from each country you visit to promote viewers. Throw a secret word randomly in each video to create a phrase by the end of your country series (India for example). Probably get more viewers to consistently watch entire videos on your page?
actually its not strange considering he has been all around asia his stomach has probably accustomed to the assualt of raw, overly spicy and undercooked
If you are in Mumbai then you can visit Chor Bazaar, Lohar Chawl, Manish Market, Crawford Market, where you can buy anything for least affordable prices. You can also try to visit the extended suburbs, places like Malad, Borivali where you will find good beaches and National Park, biggest park within Mumbai. If you go towards places like Vasai, Nala Sopara, Virar you will observe village type atmosphere and find many Villas and Cottages.

Yes, Bombay is a green city, and the Fort and Colaba districts have quite a lot of European-style architecture. (I grew up there in the 1960s, visited in the 2000s and 2010s.) OMG that woman in the blue sari was obnoxious! Local authorities in India and other countries should do something about touts like that. This summer I was in Tanzania and had quite a few encounters with touts, though none of them got nasty. (Btw, I don't spend $80 a night even in Western Europe - can always find something decent for cheaper. But I guess hotel prices are high in Colaba.)

He trying to make money off of poor people country but can't help the shop people out get out the country if you don't want to be harassed going around poor people going to get harassed
He wasn't pinching! They are ear cleaner and he was tryna say that his ears were not clean ig... Or he needed some cleaning..
They are just ear cleaner bro .
When I was in the US, I was pinched in similar way in New York City! Its very disrespectful! Although here the case is different because he didnt pinch him! And yes one needs to be safe where ever they go! not just in India!
Jaw dropped when she said that! Thank you for the honest videos 🤍
Said what ?
@@Q_QQ_Q that lady in the beginning said that when dies he will get nothing because he wouldn't buy something from her shop, awful behaviour.
@@franda777You misinterpreted her.
It is an Indian saying to help the poor.
What she meant was "when someone dies then all money will be left behind. Money will not come with your soul to heaven or hell. So, help the poor with your money before you die."

Exactly
What’s the wash and fold service in India like? 5 being the best and 0 the lowest
Relax it's colaba Mumbai
Oh my god I’m from the US where the average income is $25-30 an hour but how dare they charge me half an hour worth of my work? Kidding me an average US laundry run puts me down $40 for 1 lot of washing and drying sometimes. Seriously guys, cmon support the local economies of the countries you visit their hyped up prices are sometimes lower than prices in the US so you still get a bargain. 😏
@@alonshalit5778they actually did everything for me. Yes costed me $12 approx but they washed, dried, ironed the clothes and packed them neatly in a paper basket for me.

South India is the only place where tourists can travel peacefully
no you re wrong dude, so wrong
@sirfetched I'm right dude right!". I've travelled from South India to North India by car. And experienced what is North India🙏🏻!!

Best way to hasle prices in india is as follows:
For indian: Just 1/3 of whatever they say. If they ask for 300 you do 100 so you can buy it for 200.
For foreigners and travllers: just 1/4 of whatever they say then bargain your way through half of their original price. Then just walk away and ask for the price you want to buy it for.
Visit Rishikes,Darjling, shillong, leh, ladakh these are very diverese, chaotic free and pollution free.Happy Journey
How long is one able to stay here before feeling exhausted from the constant feeling that one is being taken advantage of?
Simple, you don't give space to take advantage.
@@santhoshv3028 Sounds like a fun time and a great way to make real connections with the local population.
Hard pass for me, unfortunately.
